I feel for you man, I graduated several years ago and that place messed me up real good. I was there almost 11 months and most people refuse to believe the horror stories I tell them about the life one has to endure there. T.J. was there when I attended along with a whole lot of other flawed individuals who've left leadership for various reasons. That place is messed up.

Please explain so that we can understand. Were you worse after you completed the program? This program is specifically to help people who are dealing with a difficult habit and destructive lifestyle. Was it not effective? Did it not help you develop a true relationship with Jesus?

@Ricanvera99 Can you contact me with any information about this place please? I have a dear friend who was forced to go there, and I want to help him. I especially would really really appreciate any information about the places the men worknwhile they are there??? Please anything, no matter how insignificant it seems, would be helpful.

Totally understand where you are coming from Tim I was basically treated to same way toward my last two months there. I don’t understand how they can judge and measure a persons faith. They even told me not to go back to college which was ridiculous.

Well, who knows if that was God's leading. For me, though, thinking of pure mathematical logic, like "1 + 1 = 2" or "I wish I could take the place of people so they wouldn't have to suffer." in my exit interview with Bro. Jamaal and all he says is "whatever you're thinking, it's wrong." In the last few months, that I was there, I wasn't sure if God was leading me to shout out and rebuke the staff during a chapel meeting. I told my counselor and he seemed like I was being way out of bounds because I reported it like I was confessing sin. However, what is wrong with asking whether a message is from God or not? I believed in a lot of what they did, but when they prove themselves wrong, that has nothing to do with my opinion. You cannot tell someone both to do and not do something. I asked my counselor to pray about me starting a ministry to help women. No one there ever showed any support or were willing to seek if it was God's will. I did everything my counselor asked and got behind in student loans without even knowing and he still was like, "I don't think you could do something like that." But it's up to God, isn't it?

Timothy Swan Brother Jamaal was my counselor during the program, in fact I might have been there when you were there. Anyways that just shocked me that he said that. Some of my exit interviews were pretty sketchy for some of the counselors especially bro Jordan and Jeremiah. I just didn’t get how they can measure your devotion to God but your quiet times made no sense to me. My point is as long as you are having a quiet time in the time you are there and making that relationship strong by trusting him it doesn’t matter how long you spend time with him. Some of there values are upside down.

Wow, a lot of your experiences are similar to my experiences in 2000. Part of the problem in my opinion is that everyone's journey to recovery is different; you will meet a number of people who find PLM very good for them because they are 'nouthethic' counseling (which by the way despite what some say, is nothing more than a method of behavioral modification). Some people, especially with strict rules and military mindset, are okay with this method. Another method is Freedom in Christ ministry with Neil Anderson; completely different mindset. Yet another effective method of recovery. Everyone is different. Everyone saying, 'My method is 90% effective' is lying. There is *no* method that is 100%, 90%, or even 75% effective. When a method is 30 - 50% effective, then I think that is more realistic. Everyone is different, not everyone will get recovery at the same time. While I was there, Pastor Jeff Colon was the *real* deal in my opinion. They don't make Pastors like they make him. Even after I came back for visits, he would look at me and know in an instant if I was walking with the Lord or not. While that is my personal opinion, if you know Br. Colon - I really think he was the real deal of a good counselor.

So, you said a lot but what were the primary issues you have with this program? I am sorry but it's really hard to follow the arguments you are making. It sounds from your description like a bad high school experience, which is very discouraging because the organization's mission is to help people with serious lifestyle challenge.

Much of what they believe, ideally, was spot on, which is what is most frustrating. The issues I had dealt with specific interactions with other staff and students, where they would apparently assume or believe things to be true instead of speaking with me directly about it. For example, one day at work, a man talked with us about something most fundamental Christians would shoo away as 'wishy washy,' but I prefer to confront specifically what someone says is being debated rather than judge them on appearance. When my friend asked me, "you don't believe anything he said, right?" I asked, "What did he say that was wrong?" Instead of answering me, he just thought I agreed with everything. Rather, I instead wanted specific statements to be refuted. Well, he must have spoken to my counselor, because my counselor restricted my ability to speak with other people at work greatly and filled my ipod with preaching about strange teachings. Instead of asking me about it specifically to see if I was actually led astray, he let another student's judgement about me determine his actions. Ideals there are spot on, but when they say things like, "Oh, at this ministry, things aren't done such and such way.." I proved them dead wrong. They know the standard, but are blind to how they keep it. Like Jesus said about the pharisees, he didn't condemn their teaching standard of righteousness, rather, he said you must even exceed it, but he pointed out to them how their perception on following what was right was actually way off. Misunderstandings aren't some little light funny thing. I've seen them destroy everything, and it seems to be an inability to understand how communication breaks down. I never listen to a preacher who says things like, "Oh, but I knew exactly what he meant.." No way. I've never found that to be the case. Until they realize that, they're like everyone else who contradicts themselves. But, believe me, God can and does work mystically. I learned a ton while I was there, too. Funny thing is, you can trust your authority which has no idea what is going on, but God can still orchestrate through that. Sometimes they think they know what is going on when they don't, but if you're just concerned about God getting his results, he's above/outside time and events and all that and can work everything out for you, still.

Honestly, pure life isn’t meant to be a cake walk. They give you long days of work and study on purpose so you have to make a choose to grower closer to God or walk away. They use the same idea in programs for drug addicts. Sounds like you got a counselor that was very new and no one is prefect. But really you agreement has a lot of holes. If you were ready to repent and to be free then why go? Yes there are requirements for dev time but were you doing this before pure life? Because at the core they always the solution is read your Bible and Pray, but if aren’t doing that then what is the point. Everyone has different experiences because we are dealing with different staff but are they twisting the Bible and Lying; no! Really what does this video do? Nothing

Hi. I told them the reason to go: to get closer to God. He allowed me to have this experience with a ministry before a month long job as well as with a technical company after. It showed me that these places are useless when people aren't interested in listening to someone based on their systems and positions. If they don't want to be humble and learn, for example, of the Sabbath, or, worse, to simply be stuck in a logical error in their own teaching, then that will be a judgement of their uselessness. The same thing with the company afterwards. All their PhDs put together and work put together are pointless after one man disregards the idea of directly editing parse trees perhaps based on an unrelated proof of non existence of non-NP hard algorithms for minimizing parenthesis in unparsing. So my comments are useless? I could have prayed the most important prayer in the history of the earth for some, yet, wouldn't have said it if I had just followed the strangeness of this ministry's beliefs? The beliefs are mainstream. It takes a decision of wisdom to remove yourself from strange beliefs. It takes a tiny minority to decide to question if Sunday practice or Trinity, belief that the Son was not begotten, are actually the highest of luciferian doctrines. If you don't care about truth or logic, though, then you will be like the leader of PLM who simply "can't stand" the thought of someone not having a free will, but it's ok for them to be tortured forever. You have to choose purposely to be out of your mind and prideful to practice Satan worship and convince yourself that you're not doing it while also preaching to others to not be selfish and prideful at the same time. Go back and learn the seed of the mustard tree and learn of the leaven so that you can see how the smallest lies grow to be the largest. You can also disregard the Bible and go see how the 1% income tax on only the top 1% richest grew to become the largest slave state system in history in hardly 100 years. You can choose to be naïve and disrespect logic, and assume that the word "deserve" somehow means the same thing infinitely as it does in finite. That we "deserve" infinite torture, but somehow it is good that God helps us escape that, even though he is doing his will and what his will is, is good and right and... what we 'deserve' by definition. You can even break it down, like Ramanujan did, to just addition of whole numbers, but people still don't get it. They don't understand the basic infinite sum 1 + 2 + 3 + ... = -1/12 because they try to assume it's a finite sum. Hello, the summation needed an added axiom, not the set of numbers you assign to them! They ignore the elipses doesn't exist in the set num:{0, inc(num)} then they just add {undef, inf} to their set of numbers. Why? Bias. They ignore that Jesus never preached to the Pharisees that they were keeping God's law too well, only that they were not keeping it well enough - due to their own rules. So, they think we shouldn't kill steal lie or lust but disregard the Seal of their God for the Mark of their Beast because, forget the Sabbath, it's "outdated" or something like that. God forbid they come to the realization that it's a moral law written with the same finger on the same tablet of stone, which isn't temporary like writing in the sand. When did humans forget to listen to the least among them? Must have been early on, but it's a good test, perhaps of even the serpent's seed. If my video is anything, perhaps it is a sign to wake up? Y'all are sleeping like in the Matrix.

What was the purpose of making all this public? What are you trying to accomplish?
@TimJSwan

Hi, Chad. Thanks for asking. I simply believe in revealing the truth instead of hiding lies. In a controlled environment, the ministry performed a "light session" on my good friend Christian Hyers, for example. It would be good to talk with the ministry and have them change their ways, but if they refuse to come to me and communicate with me about it, then I should tell the entire church. Steve might think that he is correct his dealings that he lists in his own books that he sells for money. That's his right to publish. It is also my right to publish that I was physically present when "Brother TJ" told me in front of everyone that I was 'belittling' my sin when I was reporting something that I wasn't sure was wrong. What I said was the truth. I was also physically present for all my counselor meetings. Including when my brain was being damaged by the mercury exposure that I had, and yet my counselor acted as though there wasn't something I told him, even though I told him the first day that I met him. So, thinking this, he put me to extra work exactly at the time I needed a break. By my own witness, eyes, ears, and touch, I have observations which conclude that the ministry contradicts what they teach for themselves. This must be spread and made known to all who decide they want to go there so others do not fall prey victim to the same abuse I have both observed and endured by truly meek and loving individuals. I take it that your experience resulted in increased justice. That is a good thing. I am grateful for experiences I have had like that in my life. God protected me and honored me through miracles of others injustices in the military, in my family, and even through my own private experiences at PLM, like answering my prayers about knowledge or retrieving my jeans for me. But, like the pharisees, some people in this world are cursed to follow outward appearance and believe that in their heart to be the truth, always frustrated with why things don't work the way they wish. Jesus took it upon himself, consciously, to step up like a man and tell the people the truth, even though they would hate him and manipulate his death indirectly. So it is true with PLM. I have witnessed the place with my own temple. I walked their campus physically myself and observed for myself the things said and whispered into my ear. Instead of being able to pinpoint something that I did wrong, for instance, they just have a 'sense' or a 'feeling' that I have some wishy washy belief because I ask a student why he disagrees with what a man said at work. Yet, no staff tells me this directly. It's all indirect so that I cannot accuse. They have chosen to refuse, in following, me to help my father or brother in law or others who God has placed in my heart to help. Like with the company I worked at who rejected me for doing correct and good work for them yet misunderstood it, my work is for accomplishing maximum value, or like the technical question I asked online for the benefit of others yet accused of it being for my own profit, I do not accept a misjudgement. Why lie? So it is that I proclaim all this. Simply for being against deceit will definitely suffice. So you can choose to believe me or the other 999 witnesses at PLM, but if you ask God for a 2nd with my witness he will provide. Let God strike me dead the moment I click 'reply' if their ministry won't burn to the ground with all of them inside realizing everything they have preached is false, they contradict themselves and go against Christ, and graduated the reverse of who should have been graduated. This ministry has the most wickedness I have seen in my travels around this earth, but it took a subtle uncovering to actually see it. If you don't believe the facts, then test the spirit as the Bible says. I begged God to torture me in hell instead of them, even instead of the devil, but they gladly proclaim that their love isn't theirs but God's and they're simply following his commands. I tell you the truth, if a man doesn't yearn to give up his life for you, then he hasn't been born of the spirit. If he doesn't love you pounding the truth into him, then he's a fool. There are kind soft loving true men who go to and even leave this ministry everyday; men who want God with all their hearts and who fiercely love others from the deepest parts of their hearts. God help them. I never allow someone to say something behind my back because it causes misunderstandings. Everything should be public. So, I treat others how I want to be treated. They torture me in the darkness, I will return evil with good and attempt to disciple them back to the truth in the light. I will not do any communication except in the public, in fact. Jesus died because of actions like theirs. They don't understand the first thing about Jesus. They would be precisely the people to complain about him or the prophets not fitting in and kill them. You ask me why I post this publicly?! I am an advocate for purity and wholeness. I will always be and I am not ashamed of that. I am ashamed of PLM and I want them exposed at all costs. Of course it's worth everything to post that publicly. Let me ask, you will ask me, "Why not just forgive them?" I will agree. Here, God, take them into heaven. God agrees and lets me go to hell instead. This is what will happen: feces made from pure lies will secrete out of the holes of their bodies, staining the gates. God will curse me to be eaten by my lies. Yet, only perhaps a centipede will come out of my nose to torture me. My mother will reach down and grab it, the lie I told her, and thank me for telling her about it already. So you tell me, Chad, was it selfish for Jesus to tell the pharisees that they were judging the righteous? Was he protecting himself? Yet I am doing that here. Also, he didn't allow someone to call him good. Did he contradict. If I am, you say, then he also did. So, but using Jesus' same strategy and using him also in that logic as an example, I have shaked off any accusations you bring here and PLM still stands condemned. They cannot use Jesus for themselves because their sins were committed in his clothes. They really are cowards, actually. I refuse to say anything about them behind their backs because they are the ones I want to know all this. "Brother Nathan" literally whispered in my ear that I wouldn't graduate unless a "miracle" happens. Then proceeds to graduate another student mentioning 'miracle' about the student saying something he was 'scared' to say. That other student one time told me he used to not believe in God. So.. am I supposed to say I don't believe in God to graduate?? Who knows? But I witnessed that myself and I know it was wrong and I know it is right to tell everyone so I will tell everyone. I am going to do whatever is best for the world and this world needs to stop blocking out its true leaders. Murdering Jesus because you think he's an idiot just because he wasn't rich and socially powerful is not good for running a kingdom with truth. People who stick to the truth absolutely usually can't even become rich or socially powerful, anyway, so the expectations are too little rather than too much. The same problem exists today and by helping further the problem and embodying it, they definitely aren't fixing it. Before I went to PLM, even before I was in the military, I went to my computer science professor in middle of a quiz and I said "you think the answer is C but it's D" and after arguing with both him and another student after class, he returned to lecture another day to proclaim that I was right all along. I had to choose with my own independent conscious self to believe that I had the correct answer and to assume which answer I thought he thought it was and then to tell him that. I had fortitude and conviction. Now, people don't even spend the resources to figure out if they're right. I'm tired of knocking the dust off my shoes.

I just want to publically Praise My LORD and Saviour Jesus and the work He did in my life at Pure Life and that He is continuing to do in my brothers lives. I left the program early because of relationship issues back home but went on to complete the OCAH program. It wasnt an overnight change and years later even i nearly fell completley away from the Lord. Here is the thing, the Lord is faithful, it was what I learned at purelife, the consecrated life, the time in prayer and devotion, the enduring through the ups and downs of my unreliable feelings and such that helps me to this day. There is no quick fix, or check yourself in and we'll do the rest type answer for those bound in deep seated addiction. Yet i can declare today that I am free, though i was backsliding whore of a man, who struggled with multiple addictions and very liberal upbringing and abuse. There is hope, and purelife is one of the tools that has helped tremendously. Thank you Jesus and press on brothers towards victory.

Bro.. imma keep it 100. I never been to pure life and I don't think I'm. A Christian but to be honest bro you don't sound like a Christian and I don't blame them at pure life... so why do I say that ? 1.you kind of placed your self in a supremior position based on your reason for going vs others that was dragged there. Two. You based logic as the foundation meaning in your mind at this time God has to make sense according to your logic and Christians don't think like that. They believe it's God before they logic. That's why they can say God's not logical etc. And 3rd the biggest give away! Is you hardly Saif Jesus in thr video. You seem like you kind of ashamed of Jesus alil bit and you more want to be a good person or find some fulfillment in life through God like to be honest bro you sound like you may have some homosexual things going on and atheist beliefs system.. I'm just telling you based off what you said in the video bro.. ijs just being honest

Lol I place myself in a superior position? I knew how to help them do what they already wanted to do, (implying that I had no agenda of my own) and I show how they prevent me from helping them. How is having zero ego be equivalent to making myself superior to them? Insane.

It seems like you are very frustrated about Pure Life Ministries and I can understand that. I have experienced the same thing in several ministries that I have been involved with. New Beginnings, Victory Outreach, City Reach and Timothy Initiative. What I found in all these ministries is that all they care about is money and control. I am finally free of all of them and I thank God and Jesus that I got through. I have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I suggest to you to get into the word of God and seek for the truth yourself. Know the truth and the truth will set you free!!!
@TimJSwan
@TimJSwan 2 года назад
I don't think this ministry cared about just money and control. They wanted to save my soul. I talked with someone at work who told me "you didn't believe all that crazy stuff that guy said, did you?" and I told him "what was wrong?" then later on my counselor practically banned me from speaking with anyone at work. Then they forced me to listen to preachers talking about strange doctrines. See, they must have assumed that my response meant that I believed that guy based on my question. My question was truthful, though. I wanted to know what the guy said that was wrong. So by being willing to learn and grow and be transparent and honest, I was instead thought of as being easily swayed. However, their closed minded reasoning is precisely what will keep them from knowing God in reality.
@TimJSwan
@TimJSwan 2 года назад
You can't worry about emotions or feelings. Whether someone is "frustrated" doesn't change hard facts. Pure Life Ministries is made up of a staff who does not conform to truth, yet believe they do. They lead others in their care and tell the ones who are 100% committed to the Lord that they are missing something: that they are not completely committed. So, their deception is complete and their only way out is exactly what they preach: to humble themselves and go to the child to learn from him the truth again. However, they will not accept that their experience is fallacious and a young one holds truth for them. They will be comfortable in their monthly incomes until the end of the age.
