To anyone serious about mastering Japanese, my strong recommendation would be to acquire as much Japanese words, phonetics, pitch accent, grammar, expressions, and KANJI while in your home country before you arrive in Japan. The speed of absorption once you arrive in language school in Japan would be so much faster, and your daily life would be so much easier whether visiting hospitals, shipping, renewing visa, or working part-time jobs. That said, it's not impossible to arrive in Japan without any Japanese skills. We've seen some Ukrainian refugees reach N3-level in just 2 years. Their level of determination to learn the language and survive/succeed is extremely strong.
Hi,I'm also from Ukraine and planning to go to Japan and study Japanese in language school. Can you recommend in which city i should looking for language school? Or maybe you can recommend certain language school? I would be very grateful for your answer!
I so appreciate your honest opinion. You are one of the very few people out there who talk frankly about their experience. It was very useful for me, thank you!
Tysm for making this and answering my questions the other week on Insta!! Really hoping by end of 2024 I can make the jump and try out language school. Super exciting long-term goal to have but so nerve-racking at the same time but might as well do it in my 20s
Hi Angie 🥰 Thank you for mentioning us, we're happy we could help you! We're always open to hearing feedback about our partner schools and will forward it to them.
Interesting to hear your experiences; I'm an older person planning to go to a language school in Japan in about a year. I'd like to suggest a couple of technical issues with your video: the music is too loud relative to your voice, and I found it hard to understand you; I had to turn on captions. Try using your outdoor voice (or your teacher voice) or put your mike closer. Notice a lot of million-follower RU-vidrs have a microphone 6 inches from their face and the music is usually turned down low. Also, if you're showing a book, don't hold it sideways so no one can see it; hold it front toward camera for a couple of seconds. Just some suggestions. Good luck with your studies!
Cool vid. Def think great advice. 1- having a plan and mapping out what you ultimately want to accomplish there. 2- if you want to go/do something, go for it! With Perseverance/optimism & planning its obtainable
this was a super great and informative vid!! i can't wait to hear about your next steps about what you're doing after graduation!! i hope i can go to tokyo or kyoto for language school some time :') it seems so hard and scary, but i really want to! thanks for sharing!! 💙💙
Thank you, Angie! Very useful video. So sorry to hear that not all of the teachers were nice 😢. This and all the useless textbooks you mentioned made me second guess my decision to attend a Japanese language school 😂
Hello!! I have a question. The Japanese language school usually tell students to return within a month after graduation. My visa is however valid for another three months after graduation. So, my question is if I can stay until the visa expires? Or should I return to my country immediately?
Before you leave your school you have to declare to immigration in you’re leaving the country or not. You’re not really allowed in the country legally if you’re not in school or working (with work visa). So if you stay you must keep going to school or start full-time work soon.
