Besides his dad, probably a lot of them aren’t used to playing parts in his recorded skits. So they’re probably not fully sure about how to act and thus are awkward. I mean if you just think you’re going to a normal family event, and then you’re not only faced with one of your relatives dressed in a costume and acting in character being followed by someone recording them on a camera, whether you were informed prior or not, you probably wouldn’t know how to react.

I think unlike a lot of the places he typically films outside of his appartment, he got their permission and informed them ahead of time. Also, I know a lot of comments as far as his having permission to film on locations goes. He even admits that they usually don’t but a lot of people just thinking that they secretly do. There are a lot of places that probably honestly don’t care as long as you’re not robbing them or making a notable amount of destruction to property. And in a lot of places that he films I’m pretty sure no one’s paid enough to give a shit as long as it’s not too destructive. He’s really just making a scene at most. And I mean, if you’ve ever been in a Walmart at midnight before Covid, there are plenty of dumbasses that do much worse things than what he does for the camera.
