My Favorite Appalachian Folk Song - Carl Johnson 

My Favorite Appalachian Folk Song is hosted by Junior Appalachian Musicians to highlight the traditions of ballad singing throughout the JAM region of Southwest Virginia, Western North Carolina, Upstate South Carolina, East Tennessee, East Kentucky and West Virginia. These chosen songs and stories showcase keepers of Appalachian traditions from ages 8 to 80. Featured in this video is Carl Johnson performing “East Virginia Blues”. He is accompanied by Jim Loyd on guitar.
