My favorite highlighters are the Walmart Pen + Gear Gel Highlighters. An expensive buy at $3.97 before tax. After highlighting, I gently rub across the highlighted area to reduce the waxy feeling. The waxy feeling will go away even if you don't gently rub across the highlighted area. God bless you!
I love the mild liners (use them for college study for awhile) but have found the lighter colors using the fine tip works the best in my bible to avoid so much ghosting/ bleed through. SIDENOTE: some of the colors are very dark and hard to read through.
Hi Elyssa! I totally understand when you say that totally geek out when it comes to pens and journaling supplies! I have always been like that and I will be 50 years old this year! Sometimes I wonder if I had my 4 beautiful children just so I have an excuse to go school supplies shopping! Haha. I just came across your channel and I love your videos. Amazon got some business from me because of this video! I hope you continue making videos, it is nice to see someone who is so excited about God and so enthusiastic about studying His Word. Thank for being a light in the world! May God bless you and yours.
@Rose Lilly I'm not Protestant and I just gave myself permission to Bible journal; which is freeing. Each person has to do what is right for them and their belief. If it's not for you, that is okay, too. My purpose is to grow stronger in my faith and God. I don't believe anything is wrong with writing in the Bible as long as you aren't desecrating, defacing or misrepresenting/modifying the word. A Bible is made of ink and paper and writing or making notes, colorful expressions of your love of God is the same, only now you are/may be creating a deeper relationship, if that's what works for you. P.S. I recently found my children's Bible I used 40 years ago and I had highlighted and made notes. I loved seeing I wasn't afraid to connect with the Word in that manner. Blessings to you.
@Rose Lilly I'm a protestant Christian and I worship God not the Bible. I think if God thinks writing in our bible helps us study and learn his word hes ok with it. Show me scripture were God says not to take notes in my Bible lol.
I love all the different items you’ve shown. One of my favorite ink pens I would suggest: Pentel EnerGel liquid gel ink pens with metal tip .07 They are only available in a few colours and sold in a pkg of one or two but write amazingly. I often give friends a nice journal book along with one of these pens and my friends love them. I usually can get them in Staples or Walmart. Thanks for sharing. Love the helpful information!!
I’m enjoying this series so much! It’s funny because the colleto pens used to be “nursing pens” . They used to be tri colored. Red, blue & black & each shift had to use the proper color for their shift. Lol! I’m really aging myself because this was before computers & not all hospitals subscribed to this. Where I started we all used black & every entry had to be dated & timed with military time. (I still think in military time & my entry’s in my planner are also in military time. I love it because you never question whether it is am or pm. Sorry for the long rant.. I appreciate these videos. I did however find that a mild liner bled through a bit in my journaling bible. It was the orchid color if that has anything to do with it. The Bible was about $30. & the paper feels a bit heavier then normal bible paper. I didn’t test it, so my fault! It’s not real bad, so no big deal. I do want to get a very nice (expensive) bible with wide margins, but am using this journaling bible to get my way of marking down.
Thank you so much for this video I will definitely be buying some of your suggested supplies 💗 I agree journals and Bible look better with Notes on them
I think you shopped my desk. Haha. I use and love all these, especially the highlighters. No bleeding. And I'm addicted to the scripture journals!! Great video!!!
I absolutely love Frixion gel pens. They are ERASABLE and come in different sizes and colors. No need for white out. They also make erasable highlighters!!
I do love Papermate ink joy pens but it upsets me when they don't come with a refill. My go-to pens are Pentel Energel. They come with tons of colors and they have a refill for black, blue and red in various sizes from 5.0 to 1.0. I find some smash when I highlight on Papermate ink joy but for Pentel Energel, it always perfect for me. I love your videos and I like how you are honest in sharing with us your real process. Blessings!
Thanks for sharing. Will look into getting some of the pens and highlighters you suggested. I just use regular pen and highlighters. They bleed through the pages a lot.
I too am big nerd with all these goodies! We have the same faves as far as pens … I stopped the video to comment 🤣 … I love ink joys! I love the colettos because of the fine point. At the moment, in my premium Bibles, I only use microns. This video is older, so I’m guessing you may already know by now, but the Microns come in a lot more colors and a tiny .005 tip! I use that size in the Bible’s, and then various sizes in matching colors for journals and such. I did just get some Pentel Slicci .25mm and they are great. I use them in my non-premiums. I love the zebra mildliners, haven’t used those in a Bible yet, but in journaling. I like the waxy Bible highlighters, but can’t get thin lines with them 😕. My FAVORITE Bible highlighters for the past 22+ years, that have worked in every Bible, are Stabillo Boss (a bit more creamy than a thin crayon texture) and super close seconds are Staedtler (similar to the Stabilo, but a little harder texture, so that’s why 2nd). I actually just did a search to provide links for you, but could only find the Staedtlers. I may have to put out an SOS in my next video to see if anyone knows where I can get them, lol. Yes girl! Can’t live without post it’s! Loved the video! Thanks for sharing!
TFS, I had just bought some Papermate Ink Joy pens and enjoyed them a few times before seeing your video. I'm afraid that some people are doing less Bible study than decorating their Bibles. The Bible just becomes another sketchbook to show off their art. It becomes distracting instead of focusing. But I also know there are artistic people and it really helps them with study and how to solidify what they read in their minds. So God knows. I am not that artistic so I stick with notes, thoughts, prayers and a few stick cartoons. You can't go wrong no matter what you do to help you study the Word.
I like the gel pens I'm not impressed with micron I bought one to try it out I really like the sharpie pen though however I am on a major budget because until I can get some financial help I have to buy what I can afford
I have been scouring the internet to find the zippered pen case you have. I clicked on the link for the paper studio pen case and got a dead end. Where did you buy it? I can't find anything close to that style. Great info. I love the videos.
just a heads up Walmart is selling the zebra mildlinders in a 15 pk for $16.88. of course this may depend on where you live I am not sure so don't quote me on that, an there is also a small four pack a well.
Awesome info, exceptionally well explained. Thank you! What is your opinion on the Sharpie Art Pens? I haven't used them, but some reviews are very favorable. Just wondering.
I have little to no experience with Sharpie Art Pens (I say little to no because I can't remember if I've used them!!) I don't currently use or own any BUT I would like to! They do look great!
Inkjoy pens are my absolute favorite and I have multiples of every color bc they work so well on regular paper, but I find that my Bible pages don’t soak up the ink as fast as regular paper does. The ink flows so nice but it’s almost too much for my Bible:( they’re my favorite so I’ll probably keep using them😂 if y’all have any highlighter suggestions it would be much appreciated
Have you had problems with the micron pens drying out or running out of ink fast? Or the tip getting ruined where it doesn’t write smoothly and neatly? I have to use them because I don’t want bleed through but I’m constantly buying new ones only after a couple uses.
I haven’t had the best experience with them in the long term either. I really like them but they do tend to act up. Lately, I’ve just been using my Papermate Inkjoys. They ghost but they don’t give me as much trouble.
Elyssa Nalani I just bought the mildliners and tried them out in my KJV Journal the Word Bible by Thomas Nelson and they bled through like crazy! Do you have trouble with bleed-through with those? It mostly bleeds through where there’s more than one layer of it or at the beginning and end of the highlight or if I draw a dot. I don’t know if that Bible just has really thin paper. Does your Bible just have really thick paper?
@@sofiya9138 I use a very thin paper bible and mildliner don't bleed, I use the pastel set. Maybe your pressing too hard? I have a heavy hand when it comes to writing and it doesn't seem to bleed. Gel highlighters for sure no bleed through, yoobi at target or pen and gear at Walmart For less than $4. I just started using micron and 1 out 3 already messed up on the tip and not dark as the other 2. Pentel energel have been my go to. I'm still on the hunt for color pens.
What version Bible is the brown one if it's not King James Version could you tell me if they have that version? Love your videos your war binder inspired me to make my own and I love it thank you for your videos
That's too bad... this set doesn't include the brown. A different set of pigma microns doesn't include the yellow. It'd be nice if they had one with all the colors
I love mild liners!! I haven't experienced bleed through (ghosting yes but not bad). The best thing I can say is that if your pages feel like there's a bit of coating or gloss, then you've got a good chance they'll be fine.
It's a ESV scripture journal and there's a link in the description for them on Amazon. However, I get them at my local Mardel too. I assume they're available at Christian bookstores 😊
