A bunch of those are on my TBR! I'm hoping to get to Unsettled Ground soon. I have also heard so much good stuff about Great Circle and Small Things Like These :)
Aaa half of these books are already on my TBR and you definitely renewed my interest in them, especially Earthlings. Sitting pretty is on my 2021 faves too, I still have to edit the video tho 🤪
Hi! I got my Master's from Syracuse. My biggest advice is to try to find opportunities outside of the classroom. I feel like I learned a lot more from my part time job, internships, and other networking opportunities than I did from my actual coursework. Since I've been working for about a year, I can also say that I feel like I've learned so much on the job that I couldn't learn in a classroom, and the Master's is really just a means of getting those opportunities in the first place. I think it's also good to have a solid "why" in terms of why you want to apply to grad school and work in libraries. The answers can be varied and flexible, mine certainly have changed over time, but it helps a lot to know why you're doing what you're doing to make the occasional rough patches and tedium easier to bear.
Was so excited to see this video from you! I tried Jade War after seeing your review and gave up after 2 chapters 😅 I think I was a bit harsh though so I've requested it from the library again hoping that I'll love it on a second try! I really need to read Piranesi and The Golem and the Jinni too!
Yeah I'm honestly not sure how you'll get on with Jade City! I hope you don't like it, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't your jam. I think Piranesi and The Golem and the Jinni are definitely up your street though :)
Great list of books. I also read a very long and detailed Biography (about Franis Bacon the artist called Revelations) this year and found the experience really immersive, exhaustive and fun!
I was pleasantly surprised by The Girls I’ve Been and how smart of a YA thriller it is. I truly enjoyed it. The rest of the books have all been ones I’ve given at least four stars to or have plans to read.
