wow, my first video on this channel! i am so excited to get started on this page, and i can’t wait to share recs and talk about lots of great books with the booktube community. i had a few different ideas for introduction videos, but figured i'd just tell you about my favorite books of all time - these are the stories that shaped me into who i am today after all, so what better way to get to know me? if you share any favorite books with me, please do let me know in the comments! :)

You're really good at this, this was great! I love Piranesi it's in my personal top 5. If you'd like a similar reality-confusion vibe done in scifi I recommend Ubik by Philip K Dick. It's a classic of new-wave scifi which I've just gotten into this spring. Its short, sweet, and even a bit funny in places. His "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" is a bit more serious and thematic but done really well also.

thank you so much! and Piranesi truly is a great book, thank you for the suggesting Philip K. Dick as well. I actually have had "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" sitting on my shelf for a while now, maybe this is my sign to finally read it!

I'm going to suggest my favourite author, VE Schwab. There are two series of which I adore by her. Villains series (has the friends to enemies troupe and delves into people who die and comeback to life with super powers) also my profile picture is of one of the characters from it called Victor Vale, love him! And Shades of Magic series, which is explores the possibility of have 4 different Londons (Grey, Red, White and Black) grey is a London like ours, no magic at all. Red London is a place that thrives off magic and uses daily, White London the magic is scarce and people are starving for it and Black London was consumed by magic and the magic killed everyone who lived there. Thw main character comes into possession of an object from Black London and he needs to get rid of it before it destroys his world. (There is also a side plot of romance)

ve schwab is awesome!! i've read the villians series and enjoyed it a lot (victor vale is an icon), but have yet to read the shades of magic series. thank you for sharing info about it, i'll have to move it up on my tbr! :)

i knew i recognized you from somewhere (booktok) lol welcome to booktube! unpopular opinion but i ADORED how champion ended and the fourth book Rebel (yes, there is a fourth book haha i feel like most ppl don't know about it) is lowkey fanservice imo but idc, it was amazing!!

@@azhangia there sure is! I believe it came out in 2019 so I get why ppl don’t know of it but if you wanna catch up with the characters after the ending of the main trilogy, I think you’ll love it 💕

people have also been motivated to learn more about the historical events of 20th century China after reading, so it’s great that it’s encouraging more education too!
