Hi, just came across you channel cause of it being shown to me as a advertisement. I'm not in the machining business or do any of that myself though I would love to but I do enjoy watching and learning it. Really enjoyed watching your interviews with the different vendors and seeing all the new cool stuff out there. Looking forward to checking out more of your stuff here online. Side note: I would go to these trade shows just to check out all the new stuff and see what is out there cause one never knows when something might come up that could also lead to a opportunity down the road.
No unfortunately didn’t make it so it was nice to watch the videos. It was cool to se sunnen we have a few bore gauges form them top off the line stuff. For a new lathe I know your a Haas fan and they have been good to you but I highly recommend talking to ferro about doosan I don’t think there is a better machine for the money right know then a lynx2100 lsy.
@@iansandusky417 I learned on HAAS and the last shop I was at for four years only had Doosans and they are incredible. I will always have a soft spot for the HAAS control but machine wise the Doosans are incredible. We had a lynx with live tooling and it was solid. My favorite was the horizontal mill and the dnm.
Ian, did you check out the ZOLLER RoboBox? Another great automated presetting and shrinking solutions like the Haimer solution. Exciting to see the tool management side taking to the automation trend.
@@iansandusky417 My son is in middle school so he could only miss one day. We flew from Tennessee to Chicago, walked around for 6 hours and flew back home. It was a very long day.
Great to see. Just a thought, notching the wardrobe up a bit to a sport shirt and slacks, and turning that hat around proper might present a bit more professional image over the 'ghetto shop garb'.
@@poetac15 Mitutoyo has been a solid brand imo. I believe all their micrometers are Japanese made, but some of their calipers and squares are made in Brazil. Not to diss on Starrett too much, but it's one of those brands you expect to be top of the line/the best. In reality though you might end up with something they now make in China, but still carries a hefty price tag. Will it work? Sure, but it's still a disappointment all around.
I appreciate the effort to make this video but please lose the hat and maybe even put on a collared shirt. This industry is plagued by visions of dungeon-like working environments. Any time this industry has a camera pointed at it, we need to present the most professional image possible. T-shirts and jeans coupled with backward hats is totally unacceptable. You should be dressed just like you would for a job interview.
