My favorite Camera Settings for Landscapes

Just imagine other famous photographer showing such kind of tutorials/tricks would charge you $100 even if it means to show you their little glimpse of secrets followed by their flattering long speech making you dumb. Honestly watching Serge tuts has taken my photography to wonders. He is very practical.

Thanks for showing the settings that you use for landscape photography. One question that I have is the focusing. Do you set a center focus point and use that to focus the entire landscape? Hi Serge! I'm just thinking the following: I see (on this video) you kept moving your histogram more to the left on each photo. Did you want not to overexpose the sky? Wouldn't it be better to take a pic as bright as possible (without overexposition) to get more details in shadows and then to lower the exposition in LR?

I see that you're using a Sony camera, A9? What do you use for lens and any other special equipment to help you take amazing photos?

I don't think it should be the goal to minimize the time editing my pictures by applying presets. I agree with you on the fact that being outside and taking the pictures should be the main focus of a photographer's work. But then people should either try and master the photography game as much as no or little editing is REQUIRED, (and just shoot in JPEG), OR take more time on developing pictures so that a nice, subtle and fitting result is achieved. Minimizing the time by random presets that just do random things to my pictures and make them SO different from the originals just can't be the solution. You say that your presets are only the starting point. Agreed! But then your time argument doesn't count anymore - and then I can also just move three sliders by myself.

Will these presets work and look good on people/different skin tones? Or are these presets only for landscape photos?

I don’t use a laptop or a pc I edit all my photos on iPad or iPhone I have also subscribed to Lightroom cloud services how can I use your presets on my mobile device Because I want to buy it.

Very nice work Serge but I think we need to be careful with the presets so that the photo doesn't look too unrealistic. Very helpful and informative though

I'm confused. I thought it best to 'expose to the right' to preserve data in the shadows. I would have bracketed for this type of shot as I would be worried about excessive noise in the shadows
