Disinfecting All Purpose Cleaner Recipe:
1/2 cup vodka (rubbing alcohol can be substituted)
1 1/2 cup distilled water
1/2 tsp castile soap
15 drops essential oil
(I use Defender from Simply Earth - a comparable blend to Thieves from Young Living or
On Guard from doTERRA)
Cream Cleanser (DIY soft scrub) Recipe:
3/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup castile soap
1 Tbsp. distilled water (add more for a thinner mixture)
1 Tbsp. vinegar
5-10 drops essential oil
Store in an airtight container

I have used the "e cloth" brand for years, the window cloths are amazing! I live on a ranch, so lots of dirt 🦬🤎 Recently, I have been collecting Norwex and I have been very pleased with it- for example the floor mops are bigger so less strokes to clean an area. I love that both are reusable and kinder to the environment than disposable products!

Hi Robin i love your videos .Thank you so much for sharing your home and all your tips on cleaning it .Your videos have really helped me over the last few weeks as my daughter in law gave birth to a beautiful baby girl during our lock down in May .My house is in a mess as the baby had colic and we walked the floor day and night with her .I came across your videos and they have reallly helped me to try and catch up with house work .My husband and i have the house to ourselves again so i will have to do an early spring clean Thanks again .You have helped me during a very difficult time .I am 69 today .You forget how tiring it is looking after a baby .God Bless .Have a good week I am from Ireland .

Robin, your cleaning videos are so satisfying to watch! We have the same cleaning style, and I’ve always used e cloth for my house cleaning business. Many thought I was crazy for not using windex or that foam spray stuff on the mirrors, but your method is the best. I have been sick and can no longer clean, which is what I love to do, so watching you clean fills that need in a way. Thanks for making these, very inspiring.

Thanks for the cleaning recipes. Using vodka as a disinfectant is a great idea. I'm definitely going to have to try that out. Especially since other disinfectants are still hard to find around here.

It was great seeing all your favourite cleaning supplies in one video and many of them are my favourite. I agree ecloth is the best way to clean steel. I have a lot of stainless steel including a large splash back and people have asked me what I clean it with! I'd recommend buying a Miele vacuum at a vacuum store. As I was able to take out a service plan it goes in to get serviced yearly and I get a discount on the bags and filters. It's definitely an investment. I took so long before I decided purchase one because of the price but I think it's the best. I hope to still be using it in twenty years time ! ❤️😊

Robin, thank you so much for fulfilling my wish to explain your tools. Right, the Miele seems to be for a lifetime. I am a bit embarrassed to say that mine is 41 years old. Last year I replaced the hose ( noname = 20€). Now it is like new. Nevertheless that is the reason why I am so interested in the Elechomes. Seems to be practical for elderly ladies 😉 and for apartments.

You are welcome! I think you would like the light weight and convenience, but it doesn’t have the suction power of the Miele. I’m okay with that and that’s why I use my Miele for deep cleaning. 💜😊💜

I love your videos and I too love the ecloth kitchen cloths and dish towels I have found they work the best too and not too thick, easy to dry and streak and lint free. I also love the Grove company. Their foaming hand soap dispenser is great too. I like the Method foaming soap.

Good afternoon Robin. This is a dynamite video...lol! I have always wanted to ask you about your cleaning products and tools, but I figured I had asked you so many questions previously to what you had shown us or told us about.... that I was just in hopes a video like this would appear...lol and it did. Thank you so much for always sharing. I have also been using the Method Dish Soap which is a very effective clean natural dish soap. I also use it with the vinegar for cleaning bath and tile. I will have to try the water and vial that you spoke about as well. I did want to ask you (here I go...lol) Robin two things: Where did you get the hangers in your laundry room where you have your dusters hanging, etc? Also, I have porcelain tile flooring throughout my home and even though it is slippery, it is, if you will, beautiful, but looks even more so if it is polished. What would you suggest as a tile polish? I know that you mentioned that you use water with your microfiber floor mops, but do you use a polish for your tile as well? I do know that polishing porcelain just brings it out so nicely after it is cleaned first. Thanks in advance for your answers and thanks for a very well done video of these products and tools. If I had to judge which cleaning RU-vid channel is the best, I would have to say yours. Your channel is so well put together and organized in a way that is also user friendly to the subscriber. In other words, you have websites, products, recipes etc which is always there and never removed in case we forget where you got something or showed something, we can always go back to your list in your description, etc. Thanks again and have a great coming week.

Thank you Helen! Your questions are always welcome! The hooks in the laundry room are “Command Hooks” They are adhesive and won’t mark the wall. I don’t have a link, but you can get them in all sizes on Amazon and most home stores here in the US. As for tile polish, I have never used it, so wouldn’t know what to recommend. Our tile in the kitchen is polished travertine (natural stone) and I do have to be careful about what products I use in them, so using E-Cloths with just water is perfect. I use a steam floor cleaner, and I love it. Keeps the floors clean with just water. Not sure if you can use it on wood flooring though?

Hi Robin - I was interested to see what products and tools you use. For the most part, I use a lot of the same things. I like the scent of Mrs. Meyers so I use that for daily wipe ups but I don’t think the dishwashing liquid works that well and I like the Dawn Power Spray. It really cuts the grease and makes washing pots and pans a cinch. I also use the Wood for Good furniture cleaner but I have to admit I still like my Endust better. I would love a couple of your vacs. The canister vac and the stick vac would be so nice to have. I have a Roomba and a Dyson upright corded vac. The Dyson cleans great but is heavy and hard to move around. Rachel (granddaughter) usually comes once every week or so to help me with things that are hard for me. She came yesterday and vacuumed with the big Dyson. Speaking of Rachel, she has had long hair down the middle of her back all her life. She was ready for a change and got her hair cut super short. We were all totally shocked at first but it is a really cute and stylist cut and is so flattering on her. BTW I love that top you have on today. The sleeves are especially cute. Thanks, as always, for your videos. I so look forward to them. I have become bored with so many of the u tube videos I see now and am sad that How Jen Does it will not make videos anymore. Question: Is the upright Dyson +/- the same as your Elechomes?

The Dyson I used to have was a traditional upright vacuum, not a stick vac like the Elechomes. I have never tried the Dyson version of that. 😊

Over here I doubt have the E-cloth duster.🤔 Recently bought the General mop bought have not use, intend to use with water or with Method floor product. I wanted to get the spray mop with the water storage but my concern if it will smell if not dry well after use. Floor and wall duster, have used 👍.

Great video today Robin! So informative. I have a question, do you buy the washing machine cleaners such as Affresh or Tide washer cleaner? I’m debating whether to try a DIY type or buy the Tide cleaner as I have always done in the past. Very interested in what you do. You can use any brand of detergent. I use the ones from Grove Collaborative. Just be sure not to use fabric softener. 💜😊💜

How would you recommend cleaning textured walls?

That is tricky Kim! It depends on how your walls are finished. For painted textured walls I have used a magic eraser for fingerprints and smudges (spot cleaning) but be gentle, because they can remove paint. For overall cleaning, I would use a dry microfiber cloth such as E-Cloth to remove dust. 💜😊💜

Hi, Robin, What brand of spray starch does you use for, say, your husband's shirts or anything else you wish to starch?

Hi Linda! I don’t use spray starch anymore. My husband works from home and so I rarely have work shirts to iron anymore. I used to use one by Niagara that worked pretty well. 💜😊💜

@@FaithandFlour Thanks, Robin. We are retired and do not need to starch much anymore, either. However, when we do, we use either Faultless Premium or Niagara Heavy Duty. I just learned that Faultless acquired Niagara several years ago! ~ Lucky us that we don't have to starch much any more, though I found/find ironing relaxing!

Hi. I purchased the e cloth expandable duster but I didn't keep the instructions. Do I just toss that whole hand held piece in the washer when vacuuming it isn't enough? Thanks.

Hi Suzi! You can disconnect the duster right at the base where the duster attaches to the top of the handle (there is a small gray button). There is a plastic rod inside, but that part can be washed in the machine. 💜😊💜

Some how dislike the Grey and dark blue strips stainless E-cloth it scratches on my stainless cook stove surface 🙄. I follow up use the grey polishing cloth. May be I will should the General purposes cloth. One of this day will give another try if still like this E-cloth stainless cloth.

Hi Choo Lee! I think the rough stripes are mean for removing stuck on bits. I’m not a huge fan of those either. I usually use the general purpose cloths. 💜😊💜

Thanks for your reply. I rather use Magic eraser the result will be better. I will alternate between Weiman or Dr Beckhamn for my stainless stove.
