one thing i absolutely despise abt tik tok is how ppl are just incredibly rude and bully creators for absolutely nothing. she‘s just having a good time singing in her kitchen and putting a lot of effort into this, not doing anything harmful, but those ppl have to ruin it for everyone. if thats not their type of content they can just scroll/ignore or block her. idk why harassment has become so normalised

The references to the musicals are actually REALLY clever. I could totally see how some of these lines seem random and out of place if you're not familiar with the shows she's referencing, but they make sense!

Shes a great singer, the reason her singing in the main videos sounds icky is because shes trying to sing in a register thats way too high for her in an effort to make it sound like pleasant and catchy. I think if she took it down to a register shes more comfortable in her recipe songs would sound a lot better, but thats just my opinion, shes still doing a pretty freaking good job

@@queenwednesdayart yuh the more she does it the better she’ll get, it sounds silly but i practice with autotune, nothing robotic, it just helps me hear if im missing a note and then i can see if i need to go higher or lower

The Holy Grail one was about Spamalot, the Monty Python & the holy grail musical. The 'not deceased' person was Not Dead Fred, who is mistaken for a dead body by Lancelot. Like with Harold Hill and River City, all of the confusing references in the lyrics are her integrating elements from the shows she's making homages to.

her lower register is much more pleasant than her higher register, I don’t know why she doesn’t use it more often

It's pretty hard to do patter songs in your lower register because she's making sure the words are accurate and fun for her recipe bits then she can go off on the solo. It's common with a lot of musical theater kids who don't have the best vocal control (me in high school lol) and newbies to do most songs in head voice and have sections where they consciously drop into chest. All of that is speculation tho. I quit my theater kids phase cold turkey and haven't looked back in a while

If it’s not your cup of tea, then you can just watch someone else without putting a damper on a good thing. Art exists NOT to be perfect, but to speak to people, and to SO many people, me included, her art does just that. It’s unique, it’s energetic, it made me smile. Enough said
