Yesssssss, I need this! I'm curious to see if there's any I missed 😅 still hoping there will be a good Alistair follower mod made for Skyrim... I miss that goofball lol.
Your Dragon Age videos are a real Makersend. They (rather you) helped me tremendiously in my first journey through all three games (this year). Apparently I slept a decade on these wonderful games. The Alistair Romance Eavesdropper mod is indeed an absolute delight and I'd be forever grateful for an Alistairomancer video
According to Steam I haven't played DA:O for nine years, but I recently watched part of a retrospective (by The Salt Factory) and I am now extremely hyped to play it again. Thank you for this concise video of mod recommendations. Having played all origin stories (albeit not for almost a decade) now I just have to decide what to roll with this time...
Just bought DAO to play through again, haven't played since it first launched... Amazed to see there's content being made about it. Thanks for the video, gonna check these out!
A video about Alistair romance mods?! I´m on the train! I have spotted "Revised Alistair Romance" in your Let´s Play and I´m thrilled beyond words, because it is simply chef´s kiss
Reshade mod for Dragon age Origins is also simple yet great visual enhancer. Also combat tweaks or bugfix mods are must have for realistic combat balance seekers.
Oh hey! Let's goo!! Time to start a new DAO story haha! Now the hard part...back story and lore building! Have you ever considered playing a DnD game like pathfinder WOTR or Baldurs Gate 3? #algorithm
I played DA3 and wanted to play the other 2 before the new one comes out. I'm trying to decide whether to do a vanilla playthrough first before modding the game. I mostly use graphic, UI and quality of life mods in my games. This list is really helpful either way so thank you.
1:10 I need this mod in my life dude. It is gorgeous. So epic! If -- and this is a big "IF" -- if Bioware gets their collective heads outta their assesses and finally decide to remastered/reboot/remake Origins for both consoles and pc, I really hope they input all the cut content and deleted scenes that were scrubbed before the games official launch back in '09. 1:10 this is just such an epic scene to cut out of the game for whatever reason. Thank god for pc gamers and the modding community in general. They rule. Too bad console gamers ver experience this bad assery.
Hello! This video got me interested in your Let's Play and subscribed. I've been wanting to try the Improved Atmosphere mod but have heard it can conflict badly with even the fix packs. Can you post a full mod list? Or, if you're feeling froggy, even a full installation video? The last big one was Frosty 3 years ago and your list is fundamentally different. Thanks! Great content!
I'm working on a full mod list for Emmery but it's a bit... expansive and taking a bit! I did do a few months ago a How to Mod DA2 tutorial and you can apply that same concept/the steps to DAO for the override mods! I am also working on another for DAO explaining DAzip mods but IRL is very busy so it's taking a bit of time!
Yesterday i've started playing the game for the first time and I just love it! I've downloaded about 25 ish mods which are all supsringly compatible. i really want to download improved atmosphere but I am scared it might cause incompatibility and I'm not sure what to do. I've heard people saying to remove some files from mods to make them compatible with it but how can I remove files from a dazip mod? also just wanted to say I love your channel! you deserve so much more appreciation and i appreciate your help with those videos :)
I have one mod that does a few of them but not a complete overhaul and companions/armour mods -but outside of that I have no idea 😅 I do play at ultra 4K which helps tho!
Do you have both the mod + core mod? one should be a dazip and the other should be an override mod -- if you're missing one piece that could be why it's not showing.
Nice to see in 11 months you didn't have the time to answer. I still can't figure out why I can't use that mod, and no one seems too keen on answering me anywhere else either, so I'll mark that one mod as a dud til such time I can make it work XD
Thank you!! I actually only have one of the Hi-Res mods and other than that I think it's just playing in 4k for the visual quality on top of things like companion and armour replacers 😂
I'm soooooo desperate to mod this game on the steam deck, if only Linux doesn't made it so hard to do it🥺 I'm on a Dragon age marathon and i wanna replay the whole games with mods this time, i want to feel like its an entirely new game with all the community mods improvement
I realize this video is two years old, but I for the life of me can't get Grey Wardens of Ferelden to work with Improved Atmosphere. The new armors just don't show up, and Duncan is naked in the intro. Anyone have any experience with these 2 mods?
So I know I missed this video when it first came out... but I do have a list of most of the mods (and their Nexus Link) I used on my RU-vid Playthough of DAO. All the Alistair Romance mods available! If anyone wants it, here is the link: docs.google.com/document/d/1lbielD32GpgKV9HBOy_RFWbvh0PLEYv-pcvik2OKvD0/edit?usp=sharing
I know you posted this ages and ages ago, but I just found it and wanted to say thank you so much for such a comprehensive list!! It's always daunting sifting through mods for a game that's been out a long time. This really helped me find gems that I had no idea existed! Thank you for putting the work in to make such an organized list!
I may be one of the only DAO fans i know about that doesn't like the mod for the wardens armor. I actually prefer the wardens without armor, and think that them not having armor fits with the type of organization they are. Especially on ferelden. Anyways, this was a very good modlist
I totally get that! I personally think at the start of the game it makes a bit more sense for them to have matchy matchy but once the game gets going totally agree!
I can't seem to get the weapons so show up in the vendor for swan song. The armours work fine, but the weapons don't appear and i added them the same way. :(
I love your tutorials and your exclamations on the mods but I do have a question for sir Gilmore Awakening mod he shows up but he is never able to be in my party any suggestions thanks and I love your videos
I've never brought him into awakening so I can't help there I'm sorry! Maybe in the Nexus comment section you might find someone with a similar problem who had it solved?
If you play a human Noble you have a mabari that's with you but in every other storyline you can get a mabari from saving it in the camp at Ostagar is there a way or mod that let you keep that mabari from your home and get the mabari from the camp cuz I just think that would be really awesome
I love Improved Atmosphere, but it makes the game honestly unplayable as it's 9/10 the culprit behind crashes and otherwise just odd game behaviour. Luckily, there's a resource pack on the Nexus that lets you pick and choose which part of Improved Atmosphere you would like to install, and that includes party banter. It's not unlike Skyrim's Immersive Citizens which also makes the game feel more alive but again at the high cost of incompatibility with virtually every other popular mod.
@@FoodThenGames I found it on Nexus today, when i was randomly checking for Hair mods. It was in the additional Hairstyles mod. Just had to manually put it in the CharGenMorph file, thanks :)
If you haven't yet the DAO wiki has a walkthrough for it that works really well -- and I'd also suggest getting the "show console commands" mod as they're invisible otherwise!
UGH! I struggle with my mods so bad. I have one, and I still can't put my finger on which it is, that makes Denerim completely unplayable for me. It just crashes. Even if I uninstall all of the mod, it's like the playthrough is completely corrupt. D:
There should be an item in your inventory that's I believe a "dog whistle" if you use it it should call your mabari to you! you can also leave it in your hot bar to call and dismiss them easily!
How do you delete character models from Improved Atmosphere to use a different model, and does anything have to be edited in the XML file? There was a Wynne I wanted to use, but it seems to have chosen the one from IA. Also not feeling the super light eyes from the redone Daveth.
the XML file is just for your character CC not companions and it just tells the game "hey x,y,z should be here" -- to remove something you'll have to find the file you want to delete, like Wynne's file in the IA folder, and delete that and it should help. I'd suggest looking at what file the wynne mod you want to use edits, then deleting that exact file in IA. If you're worried about messing up IA at all I'd suggest making a copy of whatever file you're removing first somewhere else to have as a backup!
If I remember correctly you don't install FTG like a normal mod -- I believe the mod page has step by step instructions for it! But it doesn't change the font/menu size for everything mainly just subtitles, and dialogue options and a few other things! So if some stuff changed but other things didn't then you installed it correctly!
I used to but not anymore as I prefer some other redesigns -- however there could be bits of it left in my let's play as I'm not sure if I cleared out all the files correctly 😅
@@FoodThenGames I can't find the bin_ship subfolder or when I use the override it don't work its like yellow and says do not use on the character i must be doing something wrong.
You should be able to download it for free on Nexus even without an account as they don't have paid mods on there! It sounds like you might be trying to download on a premium server instead of one of the free servers!
@@FoodThenGames Was?? Deine stimme klingt giga krass, hätte schwören können du wärst von einem gebürtigem Englisch bereich. Respekt. xD Sry Generalligator this was German. because I did not see comming that "Food Then Games" is acutally German too xD p.s. Jetzt wo ich einmal hier schreibe Welche file nutzt du von der Grey Warden mod? Gibt es eins in blau silber?
@@xtianaduhx6999 Even on Origin the install system must be the same, when it´s your problem to install them. Every mod that comes around as a .dazip file (script mods) you have to install them with the DAOUpdater which you can find in the bin_ship folder that is to be found in the DAO main folder where you have installed your game on your computer. Mods like DAO Modmanager you also put in this folder. It helps you installing or deleting .dazip´s or .override´s. Every other mod like cosmetics und such you put in the override folder in your Bioware DAO folder in documents. Search for packages and then core and finally override. If it´s not there, just create the folder manually.
@@sneakysquirrel7352 Tysm! I tried that earlier but some things weren’t showing up in game but I think I get it now. I appreciate you taking your time to help me out thank you 😊 💜
listen here sister.. I just starter playing origins and i am only intereted in the mods that make your character and followers looks so darn good. TELL ME THE MODS NOW!!!!
That's strange -- do they work in game? And are they showing up in the dazip area of your in game menu for the "dlcs/downloadable content?" If not you might want to uninstal and reinstall everything but go one mod at a time in case it's one mod messing everything up!
@@FoodThenGames so I tried the grey wardens mod, that didn't work. so then I tried the dog extra slot and that one didn't work. yeah so in the da updater they say error. could that be a file error or a path error?
