@@rosachang1312 I never shut up either but I train in Opera and have no idea how loud I can get and people are ALWAYS yelling at me to shut up...I am my own headache 😂
@@justanotherbohemian3827 I am a fan but i agree! she has squeaky voice. But considering she is chosen by the producers like Cameron, well i mean they will choose the best of course
@@stchnard actually we do... See those thumbs up??? And have you seen the reviews after the Tony Awards that year??? Perhaps you did not!!! because you don't car!!!
I agree. She should have won a major Award. Even just Seeing the Miss Saigon Movie (live theatrical movie) was mind blowing moment goosebumps right in front of my laptops screen.
You my friend... have you listened to the off broadway Hadestown? It doesn’t have Eva in it which is a whole downside but sounds way more folkier and rough. And I love it infinitely more than broadway Hadestown. Still like broadway hadestown tho...
@@radioactivesoda5616 I have actually and tbh I prefer Broadway version with the exception of Hermes, I love jazz and think that Broadway version is way more jazzy
tendencja narcystyczna Huh neat. I think if we got the Original Orpheus and Hermès to play the broadway version it would be top tier. Especially with the added songs and more professionally done music. Either way you’re entitled to your own opinion so don’t let me try to convince you otherwise :)
I personally like the broadway version *_much_* more than the off broadway. Partly because of the casting ig. For me, Eva is the best Eurydice, Andre is the best Hermès, and the two Orpheus are tied for the best. But again, that’s my opinion
Eva has now been robbed of a Tony twice, once for Miss Saigon and again for Hadestown. The other nominations both times didn't hold a candle to her, just had bigger names. The Tonys have invalidated themselves if they ever had any credibility to begin with.
she has a CRAZYYYYYY amount of control !!!! like literally unbelievable. she has to be one of my favorite performers of all time I'm so honored to have met her :")
that one scene in miss saigon where kim tells chris about her parents' death will never fail to make me cry. the powerful voice, the piercing gaze and the emphasis on each of her words just- it destroys me every time.
Hey so this video is getting WAY more attention than I thought it would. I’m a musical theatre major from Texas and was wondering would anyone be interested in me making more videos like this, videos of me talking about different theatre topics, singing videos, and possibly non theatre things like tv shows I love?? Anyone interested?
Yea she'll get one or many eventually, that being said, she really was robbed. I saw most of the shows that year and she was by FAR the most solid and impressive performer, not only great vocals but an amazing actress as well.
What's going on with me. Is crying the whole time when she sings a normal reaction? Because something in her voice makes me cry so hard. She has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard.
I feel like the people around her don't need to act because she's just that convincing of an actress (esp in Miss Saigon) like your reaction to that would be just so natural it would work with whatever show she's in!
i went to see hadestown in jan and it happened to see a day w/o her 😭 thank you for this video now i have something to watch to Make My Day w her amazing vocals 🥺💖
is it just me or in the veeeery last clip, her voice sounds like sobbing in coming? it sounds like a cry almost and it tears me up inside every time oh lord
she absolutely should have won the tony for miss saigon and i stand by thats decision no matter what. the only reason she didn’t was because she wasn’t as known as the other nominees
I'll always be a fan, and not just because I traveled halfway 'round the world to dance to 'All I've Ever Known' at our wedding! BTW it's thrilling to see her and Lea Salonga in the new film 'Yellow Rose'.
Ugh can we talk about 3.34!!! Oh my god. Shes like speak singing and i love the tone and just the emotion and oh my goooooood its so beautiful and its so raw but so amazing grrrr
Superb compilation. Thank you ! I love her. Dang I wish I’d seen the Miss Saigon Revival on Broadway ! Ugh ! But I’m grateful to have seen the original ... AND Eva 3 xs in Hadestown !! LOVE her ! Omgoddess what a TALENT !
To be fair, I never saw Hello Dolly (couldn’t afford tickets) but I was absolutely gutted when I saw Eva as Kim. I too felt she should have won the Tony. I have been a fan ever since. Love her in Hadestown
14:30 , when she's sings "It sounds like drumming!!!!" I was like: *Yep, idk what I am yet, but I'm definitely not straight* Update: I'm pansexual!! Update 2: Um, maybe panromantic ace lol Update 3: Lesbian, lmao
@@kensimmons1499 WHERE DID YOU GET THIS LIVE RECORDED VERSION OF THIS SONG I HAVE TO KNOW PLEASE I can’t find it anywhere. Ik the album and have it but I can find the version you put in the video 😔
@@emilyhutchings6471 I’m trying to find it too and I can only find a clip of the end of the song, not the bit shown in this video :( I love the song so much and I really want to find the clip too!
I love it that it doesn't end with our own Ms. Leah Salonga. Our land of Pride Philippines keeps blessing us with talented and skillful people who are out there to raise our flag
Despite the fact that many people keep saying Lea Salonga is the best Kim, I saw her as Kim twice and she was phenomenal!! Magical night on west end! I also saw her on Broadway! Correction, I saw her thrice.
