I have to say you honestly made me break out in tears. You unlocked memories for me that I thought I had forgotten. I was an abused child. My escape game was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I did not expect for this game to be Robin's favorite. I was expecting some sort of MMO, maybe Fallout or an ES game. Still, so far it has been good to listen to.

I remember accidentally stumbling upon this game because my uncle gave it to me on a whim. It's definitely one of my favorite games to play when I just want to relax.

This is one my my favorite VG, too! Still play it on my aging PS2, and still feel emotional at the end. I was a grown-ass adult when I discovered it via a gifted VG rental subscription, and will always cherish it as the unique wonder that it is. You made me all emotional with this short-ish video. So glad us ND peeps have stuff that makes us authentically joyous.

RIP Hastings, I lived 5 minutes away from one and it was great to go and walk around, looking at the books and board games and manga and stuff. I swear they had a replica Portal gun too at one point. Okami is definitely one of my favorite games and if you hadn't recommended it to me all those years ago I don't know if I'd have ever tried it. Zencha needs to release another remix album, one isn't enough for me.

Okami is one of my favorite games ever too, Robin. Similarly to you, it came out at a really odd time in my life, and from the moment I unwrapped it on Christmas that year I completely immersed myself in that world until I completed it. Then I played it again. And again. To this day I just never get tired of it. Seeing this video got me reinstalling Okami HD to my Switch, I'm overdue for my yearly playthrough lol. It was nice hearing you just. Gush about it for a little bit. Would definitely love to see a longer retrospective on it if that's something you're interested in doing in the future

W ROBIN TAKE! Okami was a game I enjoyed watching playthroughs of when I was younger, and only recently played it myself and it was a dream come true. Playing it years after watching others play it was an amazing experience. Not to mention wolves take over my brain so that was a huge plus.

I love okami! I played with my nephew ( who is a twin ) and no one else wanted to play it but us. Never got to finish it. His sister ( the other twin) " lost" it. She was mean to him. Stole the money he hid in an old moldy pair of cowboy boots. He was saving for a new console. Still love her. Its kinda hard sometimes but they are 27 now. I'm 54.

ROBIN YOURE GOING TO KILL ME. This is literally not only my firsttrue game that i owned and no one else played but it was also very profound for me too. He just like me fr. I literally just went from "hey Robin is like a 9/10 for me" to like 30/10

I just started playing Monster Hunter Rise, turns out they did a collab with Okami, you can do a very easy quest to get an armor cosmetic that turns your dog into Amaterasu, and that's not even the best part. They even made it so that every attack now uses the glaive and reflector shield, and when it runs at full speed, it leaves behind a trail of flowers.

Oh YES! I adore this game, and I've replayed it for like the third time on my Switch. It's what got me obsessed with the Japanese mythology and the artstyle it uses is so good.

My favorite all time game is Resident evil 2 the original. Second favorite is silent hill It's what inspired me to make a resident evil, silent hill, supernatural comic book series Worthy Chaos. I have 45 issues already written to complete series 1, only up to issue 7 released though (issues 8 and 9 are done and 10 is halfway!). My hardcover is also on the way! If you or anyone ever wants to read it, I will send you the PDFs! I love sharing the story

Too true! Okami hada a significant spot in my life to. It's one of the more influential video games that i've played growing up. Blockhead Grande is still to this day my worst enemy though.

I rage at a game if it takes control for 16 seconds. In fact it took me maybe two seconds to type that first sentence and I immediately got distracted by something in the sidebar. 26min would have me melting down in the street begging god to make it stop.

Okami is quite beautiful, I just have trouble dealing with the audio of the companion character. Issun's audio unfortunately hurts my ears, and I wish their audio could be isolated from the rest to turn off... 😅
