Well...I'm in. I have always had music in my life. I have been doing some upgrading and I got the Jamo deal from the other day. I was impressed that how good the they really sounded. I hooked them up about ear level and listened with my Pioneer center channel and as 2 channel. Excellent bang for the buck. The quality and looks are way above the price. Upgrades so far receiver: Sansui to Technics to Yamaha, turntable: Phillips to Fluance, speakers: Bose 601 series 1 ( 1978 with surrounds replaced). The speakers are vintage just like the owner. I agree that Klipsch Fortes are my dream speaker but not gonna happen at over 8000.00 a pair. I am looking at either SVS Prime Pinnacle or the Airmotiv T1s. Really leaning to the Emotiva's just for the tweeters.😎 I have been watching for about 2 or 3 months and I really enjoy your reviews. I was always told to spend your money on speakers but if you don't have the power to get your speakers to hit their stride then that money is wasted. I have really learned a lot by just listening. You give enough technical to make sense. Gonna use the Jamos in the office so got the Aiyima A07 to drive em.
The question at 20:40 about the dac in the sound bar or wiim is really interesting to me. I’m assuming irrespective of the configuration of dacs, streamers, cds etc you’ll always have a button somewhere to select the dac you want??
For a Classic Receiver the HK's 330b, the Twin Power 630 and 730's are incredible and some of the sweetest and best Built receivers available. But they are hard to find at this point and missed a Mint 630 for $350 not a scratch on it. They are also tech dreams for repair and service along with Pioneer Sx Models
Spot on for Realistic recommendation. I've owned the STA-2080 for years. Recently picked up a STA-2380. Power is there, sweet warm tone is gone, and it's plain boring.
As a standalone, the Forte IV are amazing. However, if you already have a great sub and want to save cash, a set of heresy IV with a sub easily outperform the Forte IV alone. The Forte IV are nothing more than a hersey with an added 15". passive radiator. A sub > passive radiator. A good 10" sub >15" passive radiator. deeper, louder and active EQ and crossover.
You have recommended products in almost every category. Why not headphones? With all the headphone amps you review and discuss the headphones themselves why not have a few listed with the rest of the recommended products?
You're certainly keeping us on our toes. Good to see and hear you again. Missed the live stream, but caught up. 😂 Take care and enjoy the chocolate eggs.
Cheap audio man please answer my question. I got drowned out in the live stream comments. So….Wharfedale Linton speakers. Better paired with a Yamaha as801 or an as1200? I was gonna go with an 801. But I may just save up for a bit to get the 1200. Let me know your opinion on the matter please. I respect thine audio knowledge.
@@gunnerdunbar I ran the audiolab 6000 on the lintons for about a year. Good pairing. Now I use it as a preamp with a more expensive tube amplifier and the Linton's are just now showing me what they can do.
My $0.02, the 1200 is a nice robust amp, but doesn’t have digital inputs, or other flexibility found on less robust models. If you go after an amp like the 1200 and very detailed speakers, you’re going to need to cough up a hefty chunk of change for an appropriate DAC and/or sources. It’s all up to how far you want to take this. Be careful of that sink hole if you don’t have deep pockets, or are unable to appreciate spending lots of money for nuance, whether through lack of experience or funds.
@@shaunyweaver1144 I’ll chime in here. I wouldn’t know. The only semiconductor Class D amp I have is a Mark Bass amp for electric bass guitar. The Wharfedales I own are all way earlier than Evo’s or Linton’s, and all hi-fi amps here are Class A & A/B.. So I have to ask, what about the speakers makes you think to say that, and what are your basic views on Class D sound ? 👨🏻
@@shipsahoy1793 Class D is a preference purely for the listener, I have A A+B and D amplification . I love the sound of all my amps those I did not are long gone . The Wharfedale Evo has alot of bass (quantity wise) the class D (xtz power amps) has a better control over low mid bass which just brings a perfect balance between them, the treble again is balanced . Class D has come along way but it's preference . My Exposure A/B amplification is for me a wonderful amp but in this case it loses out to the Class D and Evo combo . Synergy is something only the listener can decide, so on a grand scale there is no right or wrong .
I finished my bourbon basement, and I chose the Aiyiama 08Pro and the Elac 5.2s. sounds good.😊. I use an SOG multi tool, but only as it has what I use most often.
You didn't mention the elac debut reference as one of your speakers. They once were ine of your favorites, "buttery" was one of the terms you used to describe them. Do you no longer own them or just prefer the wharfedales?
To anyone railing against Schiit audio: There is utter GARBAGE out there costing a MULTIPLE of what their products cost and sound /work like crap. People rage if one out of 100,000 units has an issue, where junk like topping arrive DOA 1/2 of the time. There is pretentious and intentionally overpriced that fall short. Snobs that have NEVER heard any of the products hate Schiit audio because they are not expensive enough. They have also improved quality and sound year to year. Those that overhype syrupy trash like the dark voice simply prefer muddy music to clarity. I like Schiit audio because for $199 in today's money, the Magni 3 for example BLOWS AWAY headphone amps costing $500-$1000 in 2001 money. And in todays money.
IMO, “pragmatic” audio enthusiasts found the SYN to be an inane (pointless) product offering, MAINLY due to its lack of interface flexibility to the digital world. I’m sure the typical negative comments were with regard to the product itself, and the company’s lack of foresight in that regard. I wouldn’t take it personally if I were any of you guys happen to think the product is “cool.”
Season 1 of The Mandalorian was great Season 2 was okay but, starting to suck Season 3 is another bait and switch. They should have called it The Womandalorian. It sucks ass. A voice actor and a puppet, gets old pretty quick
