I was blown away by The Highwayman , it’s now my all time favorite, which I can’t believe because I adored Judith McNaught as my number one for decades - Once and Always , Almost Heaven , Kingdom of Dreams . So I’m asking about your other two book suggestions Wild Rain and Rogue - the reviews say they’re light and fluffy ? Is there any book you can recommend that compares to The Highwayman ?
I just finished reading My Darling Duke and it was perrrrfect!! 😍 I can’t wait to continue on with the series. My American Duchess was amazing too! Their romance was just so swoon-worthy! The Earl Takes All is what made me obsessed with Lorraine Heath. And I know we recently just had a historical romance readathon but I’m dying for another one. 😆
Love so many of these too! 😍 the only 2 I need to read is the Grace Callaway and Silver and Sapphires, which both I want to read soon. And oooh if you loved My American Duchess, I read an arc of her new book coming out in the spring and the hero is a friend of the My American Duchess heroine and she’s in the book a ton!
So many great picks! I discovered Stacy Reid and Amanda Quick this year, and I am so happy I did. My favorite book of the year is Elisa Braden's The Temptation of a Highlander, and it also happened to be my last read lol. I also really loved The Wrong Marquess by Vivienne Lorret, both of Julie Anne Long's 2021 releases for her Grand Palace on the Thames series, Portrait of a Scotsman by Evie Dunmore, Devil in Disguise by Lisa Kleypas. and a bunch of Lorraine Heath's backlist (I'm still working my way to her more recent releases). :)
The historical romances written by Judith Mcnaught/Jude Deveraux are the best historical romance books for me. She always put acomedy twist on the stories so its really fun to read, and the women in the stories are commonly strong willed so I really enjoy it.
I picked up so many great historical romances from you in 2021 as this was the year I found your channel. I enjoyed The Rakess and My Darling Duke. I read Nightsong but it was just ok. I found it a little disjointed and there were so many copy errors that it irritated me. I liked Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas and then I started the Hathaway series and I loved those! Thanks for the great videos!
I just finished reading In pursuit of Mary Bennett by Patricia Mingle. I absolutely loved it! I always felt sorry for poor Mary Bennett from Pride and Prejudice. I loved how Patricia Mingle poured love, sweat and tears into Mar Bennett making more her than just a comedic character.. I believe this is worth a read!
So glad your channel was recommended! My favorite Beverly Jenkins is Vivid. One of the only books I've read twice and then just recently listened to on audible...so fun!
I've read the book club ones plus ''My darling duke" after i saw it in one of your other videos. I loved them. Even though there are books that i LOVE i don't reread them cause there are so many great books out there and so little time. I'm new to historical romance and i have sooo many books to read! I just read "Splendid" for the book club and it was AMAZING! And now i'm thinking that i have to read all of Julia Quinn's books and so many more authors out there.
I’m so glad to have found your channel and so many new-to-me authors. Just finished My Darling Duke and loved it. Can’t wait to read more. I was disappointed to hear you didn’t like Lisa Kleypas since she wrote two of my all time favorites-Hello, Stranger and The Devil’s Daughter. Very romantic with just the right amount of humor. Listen to the audiobooks if you like a hero with an Irish brogue whisper sweet Gaelic endearments and another hero with a dry sense of humor and rapier wit. Thanks for taking the time to introduce us to new reading pleasures. 😃
I also loved Never Seduce a Scot and My American Duchess. My other favorites were Waiting for a Scot Like You, Maiden Lane Series, Lady Gets Lucky, Ten Things I Hate About the Duke, and the first two books in the Midnight in Scotland series. Well looks like I have a thing for Scots! I will make sure to read Lorraine Heath this year.
I read My Darling Duke yesterday and loved it. I also read The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare and disliked it. The writing wasn’t for me so I’m hesitant to pick up another of her book so soon. Thanks for the other recommendations! 2022 will my year of historical romances
What? No Mary Balogh or Grace Burrows? On the plus side, I haven't heard of any of your recommendations so I have lots to choose, now. Wait, I have read Tessa Dare before...
I am so happy to see The Duchess War on this list!! One of my all time favorites. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the rest of the series! They're all so smart and so sweet.
Try some books by Nicole Jordan especially her set To Bed Beauty, and so and also books by Julie Johnston. I can tell you that I read more than half of books that you recomended and they are all great books love them. I love historical romance. Great job choosing books.
I check in every HR video you put out (and your Goodreads) hoping you'll have picked up The Duke of Shadows by Meredith Duran by now, but it's not happening! As someone who likes every one of your top HR recommendations, I'm 100% sure you'll be obsessed with said book.
I loved The Duke of Shadows , it’s in my top forever favorites, I’ve reread it so many times , I’m crazy over him even more than her , which is unusual for me
Question - you mentioned a few books/authors I haven't tried before but like you I am a big fan of Lorraine Heath so I'm going to give a few a try 😀 My question is this I would live to join a relaxed book club that features various genres, new authors etc but don't know where to look... I don't have Instagram but write a lot of reviews on Goodreads. Is their a club you would recommend that is a little more general romance then just historical fiction?
I just started watching your videos recently & I enjoy listening to your picks & I mostly agree with your opinions. I was glad to see you picked a Stacy Reid novel, I have enjoyed all of her books. I would like to recommend an author that I love & haven’t heard you mention & that’s Scarlett Scott. I’d like to hear what you think about her writing. The heat level is blazing, so be forewarned.
Thank you for this wonderful list. I've read some of these books, they are amazing! I also sincerely recomment Emma V. Leech "Rogues and Gentlemen" and " Girls who dare" series. Her books are great!
If you loved "The Duke and the Lady in red" by Lorraine Heath you should really read the book 2 of that series "Once more, my Darling Rogue"! It is my favorite from that series ☺️
