These are some of my bases from various playthroughs of Kenshi. Most are somewhat centrally located as well. I hope they give you inspiration and help you out when you're looking for a place to settle your band of misfits in Kenshi.

Fog islands is excellent, has stone iron copper and fertile land for arid and green, just block the 3 passages with walls and you are good to go, the main problem is the water, but once you get automated extraction of water build it on the lower part out side off the passage for 100%, it has enough space for 3 wells and put a wall around them, but accessible to the base. I recommend built some with 34% near the farms, and a few for 100% to ensure that you don't run out to quick and let the farms die, use someone to haul water to storage, Stirage must be near to the farms as well. If you angered the HN, shek or UC and even cannibals, the fogmen will act as a natural obstacle to hinder the enemy before it reaches to your base, and sometime they don't reach you at all or very few. this is the safest place of all Kenshi.

Nice video, I’m really enjoying the location I picked just on the left hand edge of the fog islands. Realized hunting fogmen very carefully with brand new characters is a good way to level up skills.

The coughing and spluttering didn’t bother me as much as the constant “ummm, ahhh, errrr” through the vid. Need to be concise, get the the point. Also too much “fluff”. Don’t need a huge backstory, just need the subject matter as the title of the video. Should have also detailed exactly where on the map the base location and showed a few local landmarks .

The vain, tttthhhheeee VVVVAAAAIIIINNNN!!! best spot in my opinion lots of copper, good water, stone and iron. But you will need a ore drill for that though. You dont get attacked very often. When you do it's by dust bandits or people you really pissed off. And sometimes beak things and gorilo

Thanks for the tips ! I decided to go for Stack after helping the Shek Kingdom conquer it and managed to create an amazing supply line with the Sheks, the Fog Islands are also really close and i can send a group there for combat training and Fog Prince head hunting for extra cash.

Yeah I think the Shek are the strongest allies in the game. Playing as United Cities bounty hunters is really fun too. I want to do a cannibal hunter Flotsam Ninja play through next.

Hey one thing I gotta let you know get the 2x2 food cube mod. Absolutely essential because base game food cubes are actually FUCKING RECTANGLES and it bothers me to no end.

Yeah, there's a few mods that I think should be vanilla updates, like mining trains strength, or bonedog backpacks.

I found exactly the same location yesterday. I used to settle in Squin. But this location is even better cause you can farm everything. The only problem is, I now have a small team in Fog Islands that I need to get them out to join my other teams, one in Squin, one in Stack, and one in Blister Hill. I need to train up all my new recruits in Mongrel to 23 mph so that they can outrun other Fog princes. LOL It is now day 30 in my new start. I will settle there probably on day 40.

I looked the other day and I had almost 1,500 hours in Kenshi on Steam! Such a great game. I'm currently doing a playthough in fog islands. It's such a great spot.

@@SMooreArtDesign Fog Islands is a good training ground. There is so much action because of those silly and weak fogmen running around even close to the gate of Mogrel. I gained a ton of toughness and attack xp mining right in front of one of the gates. (There are fog princes running close to the gate at night which is kind of dangerous too) But I have already moved my 7 guys out so that I can build a temporary base in Squin to train up my crossbow skill before I move to the Holy Farm area for a permanent base. But before doing that I will send two guys to Black Desert City to get the ancient science and engineering books so that I can make crossbows and better turrets. I don't even need walls or gate to fight those silly Black Dragon Ninjas and Dust Bandits. The ninjas gave me a lot of toughness though. Our first fight was close enough. But I have about 20 guys in Squin and 4 bulls that can take a ton of damage. I still have 6 guys in Stack with an amor guy at level 82 armor making. He leveled to 70 just by making leather out of free bull skins. LOL I will recruit more from one of the Way Stations east of Squin and my favorite guy Sadneil from Black Desert City. Then I will recruit more in United Cities. This time I think I can build an army with about 50 guys to fight the Shek Kingdom. Believe it or not, I haven't encountered a beakthing yet. It is not worth my time. When I build a team of 12 archers all with50+ crossbows, the beakthing and the blood spiders are nothing anyway. My crossbow training has just begun. I have about 600 hours in this game. But I do a lot of research in this game. LOL
