I loving these Golden State recaps!!! It's really interesting to hear your thought processes. The process of evaluating candidate moves, spotting blunders and tactics is impressive and something I aspire to. I like the fact your analysis is mainly your "at the board thoughts", and not engine numbers. Excellent game, good luck for the next round!!!

The prep and the way your pieces flowed in the game was amazing, it's a game to remember, the ideas, the innovative tactics, spectacular display of skill, definitely a 2600+ worth game.

I wish we could get a counter for the number of times Kostya sacrificed a piece in this game

Very nice and instructive game !! Reminds me Alekhine's quote "you need to beat me 3 times : in the opening, in the middle game and in the endgame". These guys are so hard to beat. Well done!

Great win against a strong GM! It’s funny how you play positionally as white, then play this crazy KI stuff as black.

A flawless and brilliant King's Indian. The best game you've ever played ? Is it your Monalisa ? I think it's always something with d4 players who plays king's indian. They always struggle to play well against their own darling opening. Even Gelfand struggled against KID at some point. What a brilliant game by you though. Simply amazing calculations.

Oh, most valuable lesson don’t grab the first piece if you can force opponent to reposition and you can get piece at that time. And don’t get schnookered by a draw by repetition.

If you played all of your games with this chutzpah, you'd be GM already! Insanely beautiful use of the initiative to justify every single piece sacrifice!

I have a question about why you start with 1...g6 after c4. I guess you're fine with transposing to the KID but what if they play 2.e4 for example
@mitchellfabian7694
@mitchellfabian7694 2 года назад
I think it’s about flexibility of the knight. It may want to go to e7 in some fianchetto lines from white
@rudiwiesenblute2111
@rudiwiesenblute2111 2 года назад
@@mitchellfabian7694 in that case you would most likely play c5 at some point as well before the opponent plays D4 right
@IMKostyaKavutskiy
@IMKostyaKavutskiy 2 года назад
After 2.e4 d6 we get a King's Indian. Idea is to play Nge7 in some lines of the English, as Mitch stated
