I highly recommend using SHIFT+T while a light is selected (you can easily point your light towards a product) and then setting 3D cursor on your product + transform pivot point set on cursor. That way you can rotate light around object easily using R (or R + R).

Great tutorial. Also wanted to mention that you can set the background to transparent so you have more control over the background and be able to experiment with it. Of course if you are only going for white bg then it's kinda useless, but wanted to share some tip that somebody might find useful.
As an uninformed person in matters of lighting, I found that they all looked better without the white background. I dunno, I guess I prefer more moody ambiences ^ ^
