What’s good Henny, dope review on this mic. Good to see a RU-vidr/content creator focus on mobile setup. Is the audio and video sync a little off due to lining up the audio file with the video? Or because it’s an external mic on the iPad that makes the delay?

I’ve been trying to figure it out all afternoon, but I think my recordings were 48khz on the HypeMic and I exported the video at 44.1 and didn’t transcode the audio before. Since all my other audio was fine, it had to be that because the audio lined up perfectly in LumaFusion

@@HennyThaBizness I love it man. I was considering Adobe Rush, which is how I ended up on your channel, and you mentioned Luma in comparison. I was ready to hop on to Rush because I'm so familiar with the Adobe brand. But Luma is THE MOVE! I've been trying to clean up my workflow while traveling a lot and being able to leave my laptop at home has been amazing (also grabbed a wireless WD drive).

LumaFusion is straight up Final Cut lite; looovvvveeee it! I wish Apple would purchase the company and then it into FCP, or a way for it to be an extension while editing on the Mac.

Mission to be A Man It's the same audio quality just about, just watch a vid on that mic and you'll see what I mean. If you aren't trying to do what this guy is trying to do as far as studio specific music mixing, the apogee mic plus is great for recording and midi input.

I use the new Rode Wireless Go for my iPhone and iPad Air 2. I also have the Rode Filmmaker Wireless Kit that I can use my handheld Rode TX-M2. I also use the Rode NT USB Mic for my iPhone and iPad.

I ended up buying this. Even tho is expensive but with all the stuff I bought different cables the amount is about the same and this is simple and less confusing. Also portable… I hope it works with my iPhone 13 mini since the charging cable is different but is still works with the regular lighting cable so it should work. 🤞

I remember when Apogee AD/DA converters first came on the scene in the 90’s and 2000’s. Nice to see that they have expanded into mic’s and compression. 100% agree that analog compression is the single thing you need before your mic signal hits digital. Tame those levels down! Great vid Henny.

Apogee has better Analog to digital conversion and thus mic is more versatile and mobile. This is definitely the mobile mic I’d invest in.

I have a question…I record vocals on an iPad mini using GarageBand and I use digital instruments in all my songs. I was using the built in mic on iPad for ages until someone suggested that I get a mic so I did my research and got an apogee hype mic. I’m not a very techy person so I just plugged it in and used it. Maybe I missed something because I find the sound is a bit muffled compared to the iPad built in mic. Why could this be? I was expecting a radical improvement in my vocal recordings.

I’m so happy you made this video. I’ve been writing a lot of music lately and have been terrified with going in the studio. I’ve never done it before and I feel like my voice isn’t up To par. Alexander Meyer mine doesn’t fully work. The green light only goes on sometimes so I have to constantly unplug it and plug it back in. Payed like 300 bucks for it. No response from apogee over a week now. Their a scam and trash. Apogee products and costumer service is crap.

Henny, I’m having problems hearing myself through my headphones plugged into the hypemic now that I’m using logic pro X. I never had that problem while using GarageBand on my iPhone. Is this because I don’t have any audio interface? Any suggestions?

Great review but this mic is probably overkill for me. Question, I tried the Rode Me-C connected to my iPad Pro. What I didn’t realize was that since it also has a 3.5 mm audio out, I couldn’t select where I wanted the audio to go. I wanted to use for Zoom calls, but since I would need to plug in headphones, kinda defeated the purpose as I could just plug in a set of earbuds with mic and get pretty good sound that way. Any way you know of the route the audio through the iPad speakers? Thx!

How good is the iPad mini 5 with music production? I've been meaning to get one and I've been looking for reviews and feedback but I hadn't gotten anything solid :/ I know that it's got a better processor than the iPad 6 but I feel like getting the iPad mini would be better because of that but idk.
