Very cool pedal and great demo comrade. Having gone a bit bonkers during lockdown on the gear front my quest is for less pedals, amps and guitars. Were I still in a boredom induced consumerist feeding frenzy, I am sure this would be chum in the water for me.
Thank you my friend!!!! I’m always happy to help others with their gear addiction. lol. Well, if another lockdown happens definitely consider this one. lol
Been a bit curious about this (and hologram in general) though I do look at their stuff as "probably outside my wheelhouse" but the people who do get it, who do love it and use it make inspiring shit with it.
Dude! I love Hologram electronics so much! I do agree, they’re definitely not for everyone. But, I think the best thing about them is how they inspire creativity amongst the people who enjoy their products.
Hologram never cease to amaze me. Really want to check this out, I just love microcosm and this looks like such a fun evolution of sound design. The gesture has me super intrigued, seems like infinite possibilities there. Great sounds as always!!!
I have one and love it. It’s definitely not a multi effect in the tradition sense. Going between the presets is a proper pain. It’s more of a sound design pedal
Very neat sounds out of that little box, and looks very easy to use. As someone who grew up on the menu-divers, this is a refreshing change of pace! Looks like a very reasonable footprint too.
Respectfully, I somewhat disagree. Admittedly, I haven't tried the Multi-Stomp so I can't speak on that, but I have tried the G1x and the G3xn and I found that while they are a fraction of the price..They're also a fraction of the quality (In terms of sound). Also, I found those two Zoom multi-fx units didn't really lend themselves to being versatile in terms of sound/implementation and in that regard zoom comes across as very limiting. I realize that's just my opinion, so I'm a little sour on trying the Multi-Stomp unit...But, perhaps I should give it a shot? Thank you, though! 'm just glad we can disagree and remain civil about it. different strokes for different folks. If you got any other multi-stomp unit recommendations, Im all ears!
Agreed, you make some great points. I think the algorithms on the G1x, G3xn and multistomp are the same so you’re not missing anything. I agree some sounds can be off or harsh like the drives and fuzz but I think that’s where dedicated distortion/drive/ fuzz pedals in a pedal board set up make more sense. Though for lofi it’s nice to experiment with “lower fidelity “ units like the Zoom. I have used the Boss GT units, I currently have the GT-1000 core. I’ve also tried the HX stomp. These are better units with better sounding algorithms but like with the multistomp, some sounds might not be for everyone and they’re difficult to program. You put it well, different strokes for different folks. I can see the Chroma Console is more versatile for features and types of effects and easier to program since all controls are on the surface. Sound wise based on your demo it does sound excellent (great playing btw). It’s definitely a nice alternative to the cluttered multi-fx market. It’s a niche pedal for experienced players, but for someone starting out I would recommend the multistomp.
