I don’t wear a whole ton of color but I always find myself drawn to neutral adjacent palettes anyway. With that being said, I absolutely agree with you about neutral greens being a thing (like an army green/olive/khaki vibe) and anything being grungy enough makes it neutral. I’m going to have to break out some of my more neutral adjacent palettes that don’t get enough love after watching this.
I love your definition of neutral! To me, neutrals are earthy and natural, so greens, yellows, oranges, certain blues all just fully make sense to me! Love all of these beautiful choices!
I absolutely think that pink is neutral. I think it counts as a neutral if Tarte or Pat McGrath or Colourpop would fill their palettes with colors like it. Neutral green is very real. I always think of the khaki green color or like army fatigues.

Neutral is such a subjective word. I think some people think neutral in relation to warm and cool tones. So then every color family will have some neutrals, depending on their undertone. But then there’s also neutral as you’re using the term, which (I believe) has been commonly interpreted to mean earthy, non-bold colors. I don’t think either interpretations are necessarily correct. It just depends on how you interpret neutral. 🤷🏻♂️
We have the same definition of neutral. I would add that for myself, palettes like divine rose 1&2, gemini 2, and flora story are all neutrals. Also I watched this while trying to recreate your ultraviolet look with what I have in my collection. I have almost no practice with liquid eyeliner but am determined to become an expert so I can rock big shimmery wings LOL. Anyway, it's not even but idc, it's so fun! My 34 year old eyelids are being little bitches about it with all of their teensy lines and texture but they can suck it up! 😂😂😂

We come in all colours, so anyone getting dogmatic about a rigid set of 'browns' being 'definitively neutral', might want to reconsider skin colour diversity. Not only that, but your hair colour/ head covering, clothing worn on your upper body, as well as light source, will affect the viewer's perception of neutral
I’m totally on the same page with you about “colorful neutrals!” Burnt orange, mustard, blush/mauve pink, and grungy, swampy green will always be neutrals to me! 🤷🏼♀️
I agree with these picks 100%! Cool tones are my favorite, for eyes, lips, and cheeks. I only have Sashimi City out of these. My others are Oden's Eye Alva, Solmane, and Verdanadi, Juvia's Place The Nudes and Nomad, Lime Crime Greatest Hits Bangers and Venus Immortalis, Urban Decay Wild Greens and Naked Basics 3, Maybelline Nudes of New York, Makeup Revolution Reloaded Blackout, Too Faced Sparkling Pineapple, and tarte Sweet Tarte Frosted. My favorite neutral palettes are stone cold fox from colourpop and the Venus XL 2 from lime crime, the shade in bloom is a perfect nude shade imo, and the shimmer Eve is breathtaking

I completely agree with your definition of neutral. There were a couple of times you said "sort of neutral" and I was thinking it was completely neutral like BBB Smokey Glam and the Ensley Reign Cold Moon. I love those palettes; they are absolutely gorgeous and easy to work with.
I'm a neutral with a twist eye lover. I do believe green is a neutral. My first Blend Bunny palette was the All Done Up, and first Nomad palette was Ghost Town. So I get your view of neutrals. 😊💚
The colour pop That's Taupe is a lot like the Mandalorian palette which is one of my favorite neutral palette, for me neutral definitely includes murky greens and Smokey plum/ mauves. Your POV on this topic is definitely in alignment with my own. New subscriber, loving your attitude and narrative.
Love all these palettes! But my all time fave has got to be the OG Naked 1&2 palettes! Yes, they're boring and old, and I should probably throw them out, but they hold a special place in my ❤
Love this video, thank you! 🤎💜🤎💚 I also really love color but tend to mix browns with colors for work appropriate or daytime looks. Some of my other favorites not mentioned are Orient Express from Nomad (great mix of neutral browns and bright colors, I reach for it all the time, but sadly it's discontinued), Druid from Fantasy Cosmetica, and Moonlit Seduction from Pat McGrath (more taupy minky, gorgeous but expensive). Also the Seatalk palette from Odens Eye - I love the mix of browns and blues, it's the only blues I like to wear! I'm awaiting the Sugar and Spice palette from Glaminatrix 😊
That hair color looks good on you, 💖love the makeup & outfit. Kaleidos Cold Brew and Black Jasmine are a couple my favorite neutral quads. Ensley Reign's Harvest Moon 🌚🌙and Natasha Denona's Gold ✨palettes are neutral for me.
Oh my goodness we totally share the same mind! Lol I totally agree with Dusty pinks and other grungey tones are deemed neutral. I used to love warm tones but now I’ve been loving cool tones. All of these palettes I totally vibe with. I have a few palettes from Melt Cosmetics, Blend Bunny Cosmetics, and Unearthly Cosmetifs are my top three favorite grunge makeup brands 😍🤍🖤🩶🤎🧡💚
I love my neutrals and I don’t mind muted colours or those neutral palettes with a twist. I do have a lot of your favourites. I don’t want more blue shades. It seems like too many cool neutral palettes slip a blue shadow into their stories.
I definitely will be picking some of these pallets up when I get a chance. The Cold Moon palette is the most traditional like neutral and my dream. I've been looking for just one eyeshadow palette for work but had trouble finding one I absolutely loved. Wanting to buy indie I think I am going to buy Lunar Beauty. Sigma seems great too. Beauty Bay has some too.
My definition of neutral is the same as yours for sure. My first neutral palette was smashboxs Punked palette which is greiges/greys/purples. I now also own melts Gemini and rust, as well as hudas pretty grunge. I love them all a lot. I've been really into neutral/neutral with a twist either grungy or sparkly looks lately so this video was fun. Also olives are absolutely a neutral!
Neutral green is 100% a thing! In my makeup world, grungy greens ARE neutral. They are like an easy comfort look and the Gemini palette is a total goto for it.
The Blend Bunny Dollhouse palette is such a smart palette from the brand, because you can get something neutral out of it, but you can also get something bit moody grungy with the more deeper shades or something soft colourful with the pastel shades in it.
This is my favorite category. I really wanted the Lunar Beauty one, but I have to wait until I have the funds to get the whole collection. I hope they'll have a sale sometime soon. Thank you for the great review!!
We have the same opinion on what is neutral and I have an office job, and I wear a color more often than I should but when I know my big boss is coming, I'll wear a more "neutral" colorful look😂
lol I literally thought to myself “Betty Jean that’s orange and green” before you even said it haha. I love color and neutrals equally and so it makes total sense that my favorite palettes are the ones that have half neutral shades and half colorful shades! I’m so excited that I preordered the unearthly sorcerous smoke palette because I really think it’s going to become my absolute favorite!!!

I think my favorite color story's are neutral adjacent or neutral with a twist. I love colors and I love soft more office type like looks. Really, I love it all. But my absolute favorites over everything are the neutral adjacent. Ghost Town was my #1 palette for 2023 I think. A few close runner ups, but it was my fave.
It was fun to see your neutral faves since you prefer more colorful palettes. In the ColourPop realm I'd say that Going Coconuts is also a really nice neutral ( I do have that one.)! I've been very intrigued by Blend Bunny but I wish they would make some smaller palettes. Happy weekend! 🧡🖤
Everyone who wears makeup should have at least one neutral palette, even if you're a color lover like me. I love the Smokey Glam palette and would definitely like to try Ensley Raine sometime this year
I have many of these palettes, and I 💯 agree with your take on neutrals. I recently received the Cold Moon palette, my current favorite neutral palette. I still want to eventually pick up Smokey Glam. 🌵🦒🤎🧡
