I have one of those sword hand 300m and I absolutely love it. I find the newer version just too fussy looking with the skeleton hands and busy strap design. I just think the 2254.50 is ageing so well.
There are some video's on RU-vid i revisit every now and then. This is one of them. The reason is i own both of these pieces. On top of that i like your reviews.
A 300m Professional is my first (and only) luxury watch. It's the last wave-dial Bond co-axial they made before going plain dial. I adore it. You can feel the quality just by picking it up.
i think the discontinued model looks better. OMEGA over ROLEX anyday. they are less expensive and twice as beautiful. get yourself a omega seamaster case opener key. makes it real easy to change the battery yourself. i got my 2264.50 quartz seamaster in 2006 for $1049 today they are over $2000
@@yusakufudo367 and why is that? Its an Omega... I dont see a problem with a quartz watches... and please dot tell me I can buy a Moonswatch or Casio cause those movements are not the same... They just the same as its nh35 and top swiss caliber. It interesting too see all those hate against quartz watches among so called watch enthusiasts and when I talk to an actual watchmaker is get totaly different story about quartz
@@MarkoMarkovina i agree with you...i'd take quartz watches anytime...it can take the beating seriously, they're precise, durable, much lighter than automatic watches also easy 'grab n go' watch...out of 12 watches that i have in my collection only 4 of them were automatic...the rest is quartz.
@@MarkoMarkovina Depends on whom you're talking to. Quartz watches lack what watch collectors want: a mechanical or automatic movement. So, we all agree that Quartz watches are good, one who wants to build a collection will not buy them.
@@K.J.H_ definatley! However I know it hasn't been pressure checked for at least 4 years haha. So I'm not going to wear it in the water lol. Waiting for a battery change. Maybe I should just get it checked anyway
ive got the black quartz version too, i havn't had it pressure tested in 20 years but i dont really wear it unless im going to a restaurant, so i just change out the battery when it starts jumping seconds! i took the bracelet off mine because it was catching my skin, and changed it for a black alligator horn back strap, its beautifully made, theres a leather maker on ebay who sells all things leather on ebay from Vietnam, this was before i knew they kill alligators inhumane there! i found out this black version from Omega's watch history page of all there old watches that my watch was always meant to have a leather strap, and most people dont realize that, i think it looks better now, my grandad was into horology and sold and fixed luxury 2nd hand watches, i think he must of put a bracelet on it. its a great watch but i do wish my parents for my 18th or 21st birthday got me the mechanical version, owell you cant have everything u want.
@@steveulliott4106 crazy story. Get a pressure test I recommend. Some places do it for free. So much assurance it'll give you for very little cost Had no idea they're good on leather. I actually modded the bracelet so now it has the new adjustable clasp on it like the new ones have... But I do have the tools (the bergeon tweezers) to safely swap the strap... So maybe will see what it looks like on a leather. I think you should be happy with the quartz. So trouble free. They just work! Always tell the right time
I have the bond one and planning ion getting the 2254, how much darker is the black dial compared to the bond which is not necessarily blue either, its like a dark blue) In the video here you can see teh difference but the indoor lighting is not the same as outdoor lighting.. thank you,
I recently found out that Omega basically started with a Speedmaster case for its Seamaster answer to the to the Rolex milsub model. If you look at the lugs, you can see this clearly.
Watch THE ULTIMATE OMEGA MILITARY SUBMARINER? the guy does a whole video on the seamaster 2254 omega seamaster is the ultimate watch. Rhodium plated finish. Water resistant. Shock proof. Anti magnetic. Scratch resistant anti reflective sapphire crystal. High luminous hands. Very easy to read at night
ive got the black one! got it for my 18th birthday, im 34 now! this watch was always meant to have a leather strap, so i replaced my omega braclet, which was catching my skin alot, and replaced it with a black croc strap, looks better now in my personal opinion, unfortunately my parents got me the quartz version. which is a shame, i wont buy a watch myself that isn't machanical, but a guess the quartz version will be even more rare sinse not my people wanted it, my brother got the blue goldeneye watch 11 months later which pissed me off, i wanted that one, lol
The Quartz version has a few benefits over mechanical types. This isn't a cheap quartz movement and will keep excellent time. There's a reason the British military insisted on quartz movements, not just cost.
yes i still wear it, but only on special occasions, it sits doing nothing 99% of the time, but keeps almost perfect time over a full year, i dont adjust it and it only gains several second which you cant complain about, i have several watches but my favourite for everyday use, strangly is my cassio retro style square g-shock, its just easy with a ton of functions, solar and an atomic clock!
I had the 2254 first, and then wanted to add a blue dial watch so I started looking at the Bond watches..........I ended up with a 2255.80, the blue version of the 2254. My wife can't understand the difference.
the only blue face watch that i would ever buy is this one. prince harry has the same watch as well as that creep joe biden. yes it is a bond watch but technically brosnon had the quartz version.
@@zillsburyy1 It's a little too busy for my tastes. Plus I don't like the bulk. I have a Blackbird and I appreciate the coolness of the design, but the Omega wave dial just speaks to me. Both are great watches, it all comes down to personal taste.
@@johnulmer1622 yes the wave dial is excellent. i was referring tot he color of blue on the dial. that breitling is thin like the seamaster 11mm or slightly less
