I turned my whale fin for some reason this morning, and it has a baby!omg - so much excitement! It’s done nothing for months, maybe a year, so I was beside myself with joy!
You are such a joy for me to watch during our "stay in the house" time. My #1 wish list plant is a little Bird's Nest Sansevieria. May have to order it because none of the big box stores in my area carry it.
I STILL Want The Bantel BADLY But I Want IT To Be SENSATIONAL!!! I HAVEN'T Seen Any On My Plant Hunts AND IT Is A Plant That I'm Afraid To Order Online...FEAR Of Disappointment!!!
The speed with which you said "thank you very much" at the honk and went back to talking about soil absolutely sent me. Snake plants are a new love of mine, last year I thought they were so ugly, and now I think they're the most beautiful thing. Thanks for the video! I hope you're staying safe!
Thank you so much for putting out these videos. I am on lock down in Germany and find your videos so calming and comforting in these crazy times. Please do more 🙏💐💞🍀🌱👌
FYI... 'Moonlight' is an incorrect name that somehow made its way into the market, in some cases, in place of the real name, 'Moonshine'. So, although it's oftentimes seen labeled as 'Moonlight', the correct, original cultivar name is 'Moonshine'. I agree, though, that it's a beautiful plant. I've had mine for around 10 years and I can't tell you how many times I've taken offset cuttings for people. BTW, cuttings started from leaves or portions of a leaf grow plantlets that revert to the non-sport appearance but, with time, regain the defining characteristic coloration. Best wishes with your plant(s)!!!
Mine too! I am so in love with mine that I hug it every night and touch it gently during the day too. I bought a lovely expensive pot for it - this is my baby....🍃💚🍃💚🍃
I definitely notice a huge difference from the one I have in lower light vs. the ones in brighter light. Yes, they are tolerant (stay alive) of low light, but look SO MUCH better and thrive in bright light.
Thank you Nick, the sansevieria is one of my favorite plants of all time. My mother has a snake plant that is about 30 years old . She has given cutting or babies to her friends, neighbors and family from the same mother plant, which is maybe the main reason I love this particular plant. I love, love your channel, stay safe
I am looking forward to finding a sansevieria "moonlight" which looks so beautiful as well, also a starfish one, but I've never seen one in a shop near me
😲😲😲😲😲 Wow - that's impressive!! What are your most rare/fave ones of that 40+? Just this week I adopted a whale fin, a "tough lady", and a samurai too, lol. Having passed on a 10" Bantel's last year and *still* regretting it every single day 😭 I never pass up a unique Sansevieria now!! Lesson: learned.
Hi, Sanseveria are my favorite houseplants ..though its growth is very slow but it can thrive well in any corner of the house ..believe to be one of the best air purifiers so its worth growing as indoor plants 🏜 💚💚
I love that you made this video!! Snake plants are one of my favorites and I feel like they’re so underrated. I purchased 3 online at the beginning of my plant obsession, and in my care one of them has grown a single leaf that is twice the height of the others in the pot. It’s crazy and I adore it!
I got a sansevieria trifasciata "Gold Flame that is more than 60 years old, I got it from my grand-father (and I cannot remember not seeing it in their house - note: my now deceased grand-father was born in 1899). Right now the sansevieria is about 3 feet tall (the plant itself) and is growing in a big pot. It actually bloomed once, a long stem with small white flowers. I really like this plant and as yours is special to me because of its provenance
In the past I didn't like snake plants but I have four in my flat now. I adore it.

I found a Trifasciata “Bantel Sensation” at Walmart in the nearly dead section for just a few dollars a few years ago. I’ve loved and nurtured it and it’s just beautiful. Loved your video. Subscribed, I hope that means I will be able to follow you. I’m going to add to my sansevieria collection.
You are so lucky!!! I have been searching high and low for this plant. None of my friends even have it so I can BEG for a stalk to propagate. Luckily, just found on Etsy and will have soon.
Nick, I am SO grateful that I found your wonderful channel! You're so pleasant and down to Earth and it's very relaxing and informative to watch your videos. You have such a beautiful face and smile, too, you're a natural :) Thanks for being You, King.
I’m new to your channel and I’m already such a huge fan of your content! When you mentioned the white terra-cotta pots I thought it would be awesome if you made a video painting or decorating those pots as a way to “revamp you’re current pots”. Thank you for all of the knowledge you share and making it entertaining ❤️
I have one too. Got it for a great price from, of all places, Hirts Gardens. They are so hit or miss, but this one I took a chance on and it was a hit! Healthy and well grown.
I absolutely love the variation of Sanseverias! I am still on the hunt for the Starfish Cylindrica. Such a beauty! I have a Whale Fish that I absolutely love! Two years ago I purchased the Bantel Sensation which is a beauty. However, I think I repotted prematurely and as a result have overwatered. Many fronds have died back over the winter and I have reduced the amount of watering to every two weeks. Also, I have her approximately 5ft from the window. No new growth yet. ...should I begin fertilizing? .. Absolutely love your channel! ❤
Great video and great SANSEVIERIAS! I recently purchased the Trifaciata Moonshine variety and she is a beauty! P.S. I really don't like the Dracaena name. Take care and be safe!
While repotting in March I have plant Sansevieria laurentii, S. cylindrica and ZZ-plant together in the same pot! It looks very nice and it works😄❗️ I take Terrakotta pots and I paint them with Acrylic! Greetings from Germany
Why is it that americans never seem to care for the pronounciation of Latin words?! This is so annoying, especially when this toatally insane pronounciation comes from ppl working with plants - i e ppl that really should know how to pronounce Latin names. :-/ As an example, trifasciata is NOT pronounced like the verb "to try", it is pronounced as "tree" (fasciata). And it is NOT "Hahnee-Aye", it's "Hah-nee"
I’ve been searching for a bantel! I love the silver and white. I’m dying for a big full pot to put next to my black coral. I think it would look fantastic!
Hi Elissa. Good news, I just purchased a smaller one from a seller on Etsy. They also have larger ones for sale as well. And they aren't too very expensive!! Good Luck on a purchase!!
I’m feeling a bit under the weather today, so I’m taking the day off to stay in bed and do a deep dive into your back catalogue. Conclusion: you are a very smart man with interesting tastes that happen to sync up with my own in a way that makes each video of yours instructive and entertaining. And on a personal and probably inappropriate level, I think you look really good (..okay, hot) with a bit more facial hair. 😊
Indian /pakistani/other people's plant related videos: hey let's make soil best for vegetables/ cacti/ bonsai etc. And this is how you grow them, and this is How To fertilize and what not... White people's plant videos: hey here are my favorite plants...lolz how dumb
I have a moonshine and kept it about 7' away from a south window. It darkened quite a bit, so I've since moved it to a west facing window that gets a lot of light that bounces back from a white wall outside. I let the light filter in through a curtain once the sun starts setting. The silver color is slowly returning.
I have a trifasciata 'Golden Hahnii' Nick, the leafs have the same colors as on yours however they also have very dark stripes of green might it be another cultivar? :) I just love love it so much and the cylindrical sansevieria is on wish list too, such a unique looking plant !
Wow your snake plants are so beautiful. I think I like the Black Gold One of yours. I do have the Bantel Sensation & your are right it is very unique on how it looks. I only water mine once a month & it is doing great. I had no idea that the babiies grow from the bottom. Love your channel & please stay safe.
@Nick Pileggi If I send you a photo of my dwarf sansiveria do you think you could me identify it? I’ve google searched and can’t seem to figure it out!!
Great video! I have many different sans but I don't have enough! There are so many more that I'd love to have :) I recently bought a baby boncel and I think that's my current favorite. I do have a golden hahnii that is bringing new growth that is almost all yellow, with only a thin edge of green around it, it's pretty cool
Interesting, your Gold Flame has some 'normal' leaves but mine doesn't have any of those. I wonder why this is. I want that Bantel Sensation one, though. It's gorgeous.
please send me a pieces of your sansevieria bantel's sensation! I live in the Netherlands and we don't have that plant and I want one for a really long time just let me know if that is possible😇😇
I love the image of grabbing your Samurai to fight off a burglar. This is one of those plants that living in Florida killed for me. They're just used as hedges and get weedy and lanky and unattractive outside. I might try some of the newer varieties though they're getting more interesting and I think the heights are better, sort of a sweet spot where they're not the little birdsnests but they're not the big langky things that fall over. I'm glad growers are revisiting this plant.
Do you know if every type of sansevieria is reclassified as a dracaena? It would be kind of sad if there were no 'real' sansevieria's left (even though probably nobody will start calling them dracaena :) )
I love love love the "Samuria". I have a special place for it. I have a miniature Japanes vase with a Samuria warrior. They would be good company for each other. I like these plants because they are great structural elements. The other one I like is the "Starfish". I have a total of seven plants so far. Lots of room for growth.
Bantel sensation has to be my favourite. It was Moonshine for a long time .I sit and watch it often. It was a gift from a plant friend's garden and I am so grateful. Stay safe Nick and thanks for sharing.💚💚
