Building my darkroom has been a blast. Thanks for sharing yours! You familiar with the DLG Compensating Timer? I'm not affiliated, but it works great! Also, RH Designs Timers does the f-stop method with light meter and temperature compensating. Both are currently made products. Keep on producing insensitive and good energy videos! Friendliness matters.

Wow! You are a wonderful human and an inspiring person. I can resonate with so many things you mentioned in this video: I have been slowly accumulating darkroom and processing equipment (via thrifting/good deals) for just under 2 years now, but I kind of do+don't have a proper space to use them all. (No ventilation for trays but it IS dark and mostly cool). Also I have been (and still) am a waiter and like you I tend to prefer staying back from this complicated, confusing and quite frankly overwhelming world most of the time. Often going to work is my 'social peak' for the week; but I want to share my passion more also. It is not yet time for me to start a channel (workflow incomplete), but I am always considering and moving towards. I am so so happy that there are a decent number of people out there WHO ARE interested in the FULL film practice. [I learned B&W in college 10yrs ago (are we twins?) and recently learned that they shut and removed the facilities there; kind of insane considering the resurgence amongst the "younger ones" in recent years]. My goal and desire is to connect and share my love of this art/medium with as many people as possible. You are already doing this in such a wonderful way!! NAMASTE AND GRACIAS from "the top of the continent". 🍁 📸🎞💖🙌🙏 ✌😎🤘 -JC

Omg that is crazy cool. We are twins for sure. I’m so happy to share my darkroom and film journey. I can’t express how grateful I am that I can do that. I felt so unprepared for so long. And I still have doubts here and there but reading comments like this give me so much joy. Thank you for the encouragement. It means a lot. I wish you all the best!

Great video😊 little by little you’re showing us what makes your darkroom tick and you look more confident in front of the camera, I know it’s not easy staring at a device and pretend it’s your audience but you are doing well😊👍🏼 Keep them coming we are ready for more!😊

That compensating timer sounds awesome. I'll keep it in mind if I ever come across one! I agree with trying to take in what you can when it's offered. I did that for years and now I have a community darkroom where I get to share a lot of it.

Your best accessory is the duck towel holder. Every darkroom should have one. I made contact prints with an old bit of glass from a picture frame. It was sharp round the edges so I just covered them with electrical tape.

Hola, Vivianna Magdalena.

Agreeing with the other commenters, your darkroom is amazing! I'm lucky to have some of the things in the video! I love my Jobo Mistral film drying cabinets... For drying prints, I built a similar print drying rack myself. One thing I'd mention that I really came to love is my Heiland Electronic enlarger timer / f-stop analyzer gadget that plugs into their LED light source (which replaced the dying Beseler 45S color head for my Beseler 45MXT enlarger). The enlarger timer replaces a normal timer, but it comes with a light meter that you can use to measure the light projected by your enlarger, and a computer thing with a small display and a few buttons. You set your paper + film type and it calculates the exposure / contrast grade you need for a basic print. It works pretty well and I can make do with a lot less test strips now (a godsend when I want to make a quick print after work). You can set your contrast and time using the gizmo, but you can adjust your printing / burning times in f stops rather than seconds, which is really convenient... It's really smart and sometimes I think it's cheating, but I can get to a first print a lot quicker and it leaves more time to work on perfecting the print or dodging+burning
