Lucas sometimes you do have some horrendous takes but I really do appreciate you as a content creator, you add flavor and charisma to the mma community and I truely do appreciate it, keep up the great work!
@@JoshuaSmith-no9mn1000% bro. All pro sports have been exposed for cheating/rigging or fixing. Gotta be naive to think fighting(which rakes in billions per year from gambling) doesn't fix matches. Boxing was controlled by the mob and is known to be corrupt. Tyson was rumored to have thrown fights. Pride has been exposed for fixing as well. Look at Paddy vs Gordon or McGregor vs Cowboy. Silva vs Weidman. Im sure there are plenty more
I mean he is joking a bit but yeah it's still so annoying Imagine having a friend that always rants and cries about the fact that you are cool with someone he does not like Like bruh, you don't even need to care
I think the problem have with goggins is because everyone wanted tony to win so bad and that’s what tony needed was technical advice. So they didn’t want goggins there telling him to stand up or screaming at him they wanted someone there telling tony HOW to stand up.
Lucas volk did not win that round. Islam out struck him before the takedown and those rabbit punches were negligible. Still a cool moment but come on man lets be real
Next year for your awards show you should do a pillar to post award for the most dominant performance of the year. Wishing the channel all the best in 2024!
The reason Islam wins round 4 despite not showing effective striking or compelling submission threat is because the immediate danger for Volk in that position is still very real even if it was a moral victory for him to survive and like you said look cool under pressure. Any moment that Volk tries to escape or gives up his neck and the fight could have been over. The shots Volk landed with Islam on his back aren't damaging shots and did more to win the crowd than the judges. If I remember correctly Islam ended the round with the body triangle as well, showing that if there were no rounds it could be that Volk simply could not escape the dangerous position. Do you really think if there was no clock to save you that you would want to be Volk in that position? That's how I believe it should be scored, effective grappling and immediate danger over minimal damage.
I dunno man with damage based scoring you kinda have to give it to Volk, if there was more time who knows what would happen, we have had reversals and Islam started to gas after this round etc, we truly don’t know what could have happened. However with the scoring being based on damage, and scored within the rounds that exist, Volk did more damage and had more effective offense that round. I see your point but with the criteria it’s judged by, that doesn’t mean much.
@@FoggyTheHippoyou make it seem like it is a damage based scoring its not. It is the most looked at, but if there was no serious damage like there wasnt as none of those strikes Volk threw were even counted as sign. Than its the dangerous positions that are looked at. Islam may have started to gas but from that position the most who does the work is Volk and he is more than likely to gas first as he carries Islams full body weight. So the first guy who commented is defo right if that round was unlimited I mean Volk was already getting visibly frustrated for not being able to stand up, Islam would eventually find the neck.
@@FoggyTheHippo and Islam won that fight more based on damage than the actuall body triangle the first minute of the round in the striking Islam landed 3 clean strikes that hurt Volk whilst Volk didnt find much succes. So Volk didnt do more damage the media and it being kinda a cool moment only highlighted the 3 minutes of Volk being body triangled.
@@FoggyTheHippo Islam landed more damaging shots on the feet than volk did in round 4. And whle damage is a good way to summarie the criteria it never actually says damage in the scoring criteria. Its effective striking and effwctive grappliing as the #1 scoring criteria. Islam had more effective grappling with the back take than volk did with those non-threatening strikes off his back. No judge would ever score that for volk
Your Volk/Islam round 4 take is one of your worst. Insane how biased you sound describing that scene… Islam was gassed and still won his 4th straight round, and is on the back with a body lock. Volk is mad and clearly embarrassed, starts throwing desperation shots behind his back, barely tapping Islam. Announcer laughing at him, Volk smiling with embarrassment.its like they were all laughing at a kid getting wrecked by his dad and measly fighting back however he can and being totally ineffective
For me, aspinall getting the finish for Britain when everyone says he was gonna get finished despite knowing he had the skill set on paper to get the job done. But the fact he got the finish he did was so surreal and epic
Nah I disagree with the first, even if Volk was punching Islam. They were barely landing and also Volk wasn’t doing damage so how would he win the round??
Yeah he doesn’t get the credit he deserves, I personally like Izzy but can see why people root against him but come on man, that was an EPIC moment, knocking Pereria clean out. A shame people ignore it whenever they talk about Izzy.
I was sad , fuckin hate Izzy but the moment those jab overhands started landing in r2 I knew it was gonna get good no matter who lost. but the classic 3am shout of "what the fuck 3-1" whilst dog bender did the bow celebration was kinda sick if im being unbiased . cos of context its easily top 10 moments this year, best was mike breeder barking at jubilee that was fuckin fire
I love ur videos bro but you repeat yourself in every other video, you say the same shit all the time. Talking about goggins in particular, try get some new takes bro
you missed Breeden vs Jubilee. bro got dog walked for 2 rounds then said fuck it I am the dog, only to start barking at jubilee before finishing him. that was easily my favourite moment of 2023 cos I've never seen that before, made me sad for breeder when he got cut
Make a video commenting on the best moments of the Lucas Tracy MMA awards show, my favorite is when you gave Diego Lopes the best Rockie of the year award twice after realizing Elves won the Tukhgov fight
I always see ppl being confused on why Anthony started saying “your attacking my family”, and I’m pretty sure there was a nut shot right before he started saying it. So I think he was referring to that
Strickland kicked off his title reign by styling on style bender making him airbend and shadow box all fight whilst getting a 1,2 as an answer. what if he defends by wild manning Dricus with pent up childhood trauma rage instead of playing safe and trying to parry and intercept dpp's crazy blitzes
Those aren’t significant strikes take a judging class, opinion isn’t an option for round 4 Volk Islam. But you know that Luc, you say stuff like that to get these comments because it’s good for the algorithm. Chael does the same, in a different but same concept. It’s easier and more effective than to ask nicely for viewers to leave comments. No doubt. And I’m happy to help, approve that IG request, thanks.
dude, you know when Alex has his back taken those small shots doesn't win him the round, right? like how hard is it for people to just read the criteria? and if you haven't the stop acting like you know how judging works
What gets me about these takes is that you would never in your life retain that same energy around kai. Insulting his culture and questioning his heritage is the quickest way to earn the ire of the average kiwi fan
I love Lucas He's great, but boy, sometimes you throw some ignorant takes like 21:48. You don't need to be a cerebral sudent of MMA to be a corner coach; that's why many MMA fighters do it. But hell, you need to have a lot of knowledge about MMA. It's not something as simple as a random fan screaming "get up.". You need to know the pace of the fight and know that your voice will have a big impact on motivating him and explaining something the fighter on the edge of the moment isn't paying attention to or something he's lacking. It's like a corner in boxing.
Makhachev clearly landed the better shots on the feet on the 4th round It's not even a question, don't look at only the numbers, actually watch the fight, if you stopped the 4th round right before Islam got the takedown, Islam still wins that round, and the backtake and takedown and control time nullifies volks baby "total strikes" that you seemed to hype so much, you acting like Islam was getting the derrick lewis ground and pound treatment lol, volk was throwing reverse hammer fists with a half range of motion to Islam's forehead 😂 If had volk won the exchanges on the feet before the takedown, I would give the round to volk, but volks baby fist and islams control time nullified one another, and Islam won on the feet, I am down to literally do minute by minute recap of the 4th round lol, I have watched that round many times lol
The 4th round was defo Islams, MMA ruleset of scoring scores threatening positions highly and back mount is one of them. And whilst Islam didnt do much with it you cant give the round to Volk based on that or those punches he threw, you cant throw good strikes from being back mounted. The damage also goes to Islam because the highlight of the damage was on the feet and Islam was the only one throwing damaging shoots.
Your favorite moment of the entire UFC year was that brief flash in the pan minute or two, when the guy who unanimously lost the fight-and then got absolutely destroyed in the rematch-managed to momentarily get the better of his opponent? Seriously? Man, tell me you’re an Islam hater without telling me you’re an Islam hater.
Lucas Islam clearly outstruck Volk in R4 and a back take contributes to effective grappling, which is equal to effective striking. Those rabbit punches aren't as important. It's clearly an Islam round.
Volk had all the advantages in the 1st fight against Islam he fought a weaker Islam, he had fewer hrs to hydrated so he wasn't at his full potential and Volk was fighting at his full potential and yet Islam was still a threat also the fight was in Alex home town jet the judges didn't though Volk won either. if Volk had any chances on winning, it was in this fight. But he didn't!
Volk himself said he lost the 4th round. Decent list but Colby stealing 95% of his dialogue from a youtube comment section should go in worst moments of 2023
Doesnt really matter how YOU feel about someone back getting taken, the scoring system is pretty clear that a position that dominant counts as damage. Islam won that round regardless of how u feel lil bro
David goggins terribke take. You literally said that shitty cornerman are just hype men or tell you to breathe and then said that David is perfect for hyping you up. Make up your mind lol
i 100% agree on volk winning round 4 against islam. the rules say that the most important scoring criteria is effective striking and grappling, and as the rules say effective means with the aim to end the fight. holding on to someones back isn't worth much if it comes to the official rules, you have to either go for submissions or attack in any other way otherwise it dosn't count as effective grappling. so the only effective thing that happened there was volk punching islam over and over and over, the rules are clear, punching someone in the face no matter how soft the punches might be is always worth more than staying in one possition wihtout any further activity!
The submission threat is always there since you've taken somebody's back, your opponent has to worry about their neck getting squeezed, basically is a dominant position that has the potential of ending the fight on any moment.
