+I Makeup Stuff Well said! My thought exactly! So beautiful ♥ Would absolutely love to be able to wear something like that but with my "spring color palette" complexion I don't think it would suits me at all .. Would love to see a video on the different color palette and the best color for them. Thanks you Lisa xo
Lisa, I love your videos and this one in particular! Just one advice, though. In my humble opinion, I think you should put either your hands behind the white brushes or show them in a different way, because I could hardly see the white makeup brushes. Maybe because of the white wall and the bright white lights. Thank you for another amazing video!
Oh my God this makeup is *flawless*! Look at how well the lid matches the blouse! Look at how perfectly on-point is this violet lipstick! I am recently wearing two shades of dark, burgundy-like lipstick, and one darker lilac, and now I suddenly want more violet shades.
Your make up here is fantastic. At first glance it is the lipstick that makes the look, but it actually isn t. It s the eye make up which really gives the stunning effect, more exactly: the exact placement of the darker shadow.
Thank heavens for Lisa Eldridge, to the rescue once again to tell us that one size does not fit all! So happy to finally learn that not every "HG" or coveted makeup brush is ideal for every face or eye shape! Thank you!
Each and every video of yours, inspires me so much! I hope you know how much of a positive influence you are on beauty enthusiasts all over the world. Greetings from U.A.E.
Is there anything Lisa can not make look gorgeous? That lip? I'm not even a purple fan and I feel like I must have that lip color! And from a hairstylist perspective, I feel like I need to do that ponytail on a client tomorrow - so soft and chic. Love.
+binboda Oh wow. I just looked online. I've used some Suqqu brushes before (not mine) and while they were great, so are other brushes. Don't feel like you need to own this brand to get equally good brushes that are $150 less!
That applying foundation and then buffing brushes for this and for that at the stat - I feel like Rae Morris radiance brush just does both for any size of the face.
I'll add a third! I feel like your advice on products for cleaning different types of brushes and products would be super helpful since you must wash your brushes all the time for clients, etc! I have a hard time properly cleaning my sigma f80 foundation brush because of its density - the oily residue tends to make the bristles clump up a little bit. Also, my eyeshadow brushes (Mac 217, larger blending brushes, anything with natural hair really) get dry and brittle. Love you Lisa! And loved this video 😃
+Erin Monk A tip I received recently from a fellow makeup artist is to use any bar of soap, the cheaper the better, especially in regards to synthetic bristles. I've been doing it ever since, and it really is the only thing that gets foundation out! I was using Clean brush shampoo in the goats milk version which does remove foundation well too, but then realized I was paying 5x the price for what is a essentially a var if soap haha. One advantage to the Clean shampoo is that it is gentler on natural bristles and keeps them softer.
🧡🌞🧡🌞 Dear Lisa, Could you do a new video on brushes special if you have brands like Sonia G., Rephr, new Chanel brushes,... Thank you and stay healthy 🧡🌞🧡🌞
Wow! You look so mesmerizing in this video. I think the eye/lip combo was great!! I enjoyed knowing your favorite brushes. The only thing was some were very hard to see, due to them being white or having white tips over a white background. Not complaining just letting you know from this side. Love ya, Hugs. :)
Wow! Because of your fave makeup brushes video 4 years ago, I discovered SUQQU and I became crazy about japanese hand crafted brushes. I got all suqqu brushes except suqqu eyeshadow s because it was already discontinued. I also hope they bring that unicorn brush back.
You know we are all going to ask for this looks tutorial now, right? Using art brushes is a good tip, I found a tiny minuscule pointed brush for $2. Btw, I have you book. LOVE it xx
Hi Lisa, Can you please create a video on: How you clean your brushes, how often do you clean them, and what do you usually do to your brushes between clients.. Do you clean them completely or only use alcohol.. ?! What is the best way to take care of them.. Thumb up the comment so Lisa can see it.
You are the only person I go to for makeup application advice. I love your philosophy on how makeup should look. I like your elegant approach on how makeup should be applied to bring out the real beauty of a person and not to just cover up every characteristic of a face by buffing huge amounts of makeup on. You are amazing, I can see why celebrities choose you as their makeup artist, all of them have always amazing and complimenting makeup.
Hi Lisa! I follow you exclusively for all my makeup advice. Could you do a video about your favourite make up brushes for your own daily personal use and possibly for people on a budget? Thanks!
I think so many people would love to have a video on brush cleansing! We've seen you use so many of the same brushes time and again, but never quite hear how you keep them so soft and in great condition. I bet a lot of women would like to know if there's a secret to keeping brushes in perfect condition for use, and how to get stains out of bristles, and if there's anything else to brush maintenance. Your brushes look so clean and practically brand new!
K Cook Just wash them with a mild shampoo and rinse with water mixed with a bit of vinegar. Vinegar removes shampoo and limestone residues, and works as disinfectant as well. If you do not have vinegar, lemon juice may work as well. Then squeeze the excess water in a towel and dry them flat or hanging upside down if possible. I’ve been washing my brushes this way for many years now and they still look perfect x
Lisa, I recommend the lip brush by Bite Beauty. It has the kind of shape you described and I've used and washed mine everyday for years now and it is still holding up.
Lisa, can you make a video on how to fill in eyebrows when the beginning of one of the two goes down (naturally ) towards the eye? A lot of people have this problem, maybe you can find a model? Thanks! Something like this: static.wixstatic.com/media/2c0fd6_2e9165e9f58f430f969c1bb2372ae389.jpg
+DeadliestTrap EverLaid I have this problem too! Plucking the hair doesn't work either because then it doesn't start where it should and looks too far back..would love a video on this! :)
+DeadliestTrap EverLaid Ok, I have those eyebrows (don't look at my picture, is old and they look crappy there). What you have to do is avoid filling the upper part of the beginning of the eyebrow (do I make sense?) And do not ever ever ever pluck the beginning but only the middle. Instead, grow them with a mixture of castor oil and coconut oil and only cut them so you get a downward angle. Downward angles give more length. Secondly, fill them with a much lighter dolor, you have to avoid the focus on the inner part of your eyebrow. And last but not least, lift the eyebrow. The girl in the picture actually has a unflattering eyebrow shape. You can see that the lower part of the eyebrow is much thicker and almost touches the eyelashes. What you have to do is instead of giving it a curve, you have to give it an angle. If she plucked the lower part of the eyebrow, then the whole eye would be lifted.
+Naiyu Wong Thanks for the advice. I finally found castor oil in my city, but I mixed it with argan oil because it's cold in here now and it hardens. Do you think that a mixture with coconut oil is better?
I LOVE this video- saw it years ago and it is still perfectly relevant. That is the thing about Lisa Eldridge- you and your artistry is timeless and classic :) xoxox Also- that lipstick is pretty bangin"!! what is it???
Lisa I absolutely adore your new book! I've always been fascinated with the culture and psychology behind cosmetics and found this book so informative and fun to read. I especially loved learning all the beauty secrets from the various 'makeup muses' . This is the kind of book I find myself going back to over and over again. Thank you for this gem
Lisa, would you mind doing a separate video on brush washing and care. I'm so keen on upgrading my brush collection to include expensive brushes. (Suqqu) but I'm nervous about how to care for them. Thanks in advance!
I just watched Pixiwoo's Adele makeup and then watched this video. I think it would be AMAZING if you guys did a video together. I think the RU-vid makeup world would die of happiness:)
Lisa, for lip brush like the kind you want, you should try the Giorgio Armani lip brush. I almost never use lip brushes to do lips, but since getting the GA brush, I can't use anything else now.
Could barely pay attention to what you were saying as your make-up is SO COOL! Wish make-up counter girls wore such bold looks as it screams "I'm a PRO" :)
Lisa, have you ever used those MAC Oval Brushes, the ones that look like tooth brushes? Or the same type from any other brand? I hear a lot about the ones from a brand called Artis. I really want to try them, but wanted to hear a truthfull opinion from someone I trust (like you ;) ) before investing in them... Please do a review???
Wonderfully informative video. Thank you. I don't think you have to pay all that $$ for designer brushes. Here (USA) we have many wholesale brush companies that sell phenomenal brushes for a fraction of those you mention. MUAs could save alot by purchasing from them.
@lisaeldridge Lisa, you have to teach us how to cover dark circles for deep set eyes for extremely dry skin and olive skintone! It's an everyday struggle and by the time I go on to the second step after corrector, my under eyes start to dry up and after I have put concealer it's spotty, products start to crack and it's a mess. Rich eye cream, under eye primers, face oil nothing works :( things turn ashy and dry and just never looks smooth let alone undetectable. Please help!
I'm sorry but I did not click on this video to watch your favs on brushes, but rather to look at your amazing makeup. Not sure I could pull it off, but stunning nonetheless.
Hi Lisa, I think you are the best beauty guru there. is I watch your videos over and over again. The natural makeup is so beautiful and timeless. I am 45 years old with drier aging skin. I also have acne scars and large pores. Too much matta makeup makes my skin look cakey. I do mix oil or moisturiser in it. Dewy foundation emphasises the scars and pores. What would be the best foundation, I use pore filling primer.
Thank you for this informative tutorial! I would love to see a tutorial of under eye concealing and baking! And a sculpting/conturing tutorial with powder and creamy concealer! Thank you.
Loved your original brush video so happy to see an update! Makeup brushes are my 'thing' - people are definitely shocked when they see how many I've got! But hey I'm a Makeup artist I need them ;) would definitely love a short video on your favourite ways to wash brushes! I hear so many mixed opinions on what deep cleaning product to use and want to hear your favourite!
I know there are a few brushed made by chikuhodo that are similar to the suqqu s brush. one in their Z series which is made of squirrel and another from their takumi series made from goat.
