Please do let me know in the comments what your favourite Sammy Hagar album is ! Hope you enjoy the video, I thought I would something a wee bit different on a Monday.
Fave Sammy album Standing Hampton. Me dad was a massive Hagar fan so grew up whith him and I always said Van Halen were better with Roth and Hagar solo. Quite like the first Montrose album as well but only discovered that recently.
*_Great episode, Dunsy! My favorite is definitely Standing Hampton. I ran into to him in San Francisco in 1982. He couldn’t have been nicer. Super down to earth guy._* 🎸🤘
And Sammy is a great player in his own right too..... Hey, Chuck Ruff was in Edgar Winter's group in the 70's..... which other albums of Sammy would you recommend?? Can't beat the old vinyl days....
Yeah, he's a great player - I guess the Live album would be a go to. Other than that the albums on either side of this one, Street Machine and Standing Hampton.
I could not tell what's my favorit Hagar album , but your video is very interesting , with cool playing from you when you're showing the guitar parts !! Yes thosee guitar parts are awsome , and those solos! Mate i love to see your records , you are telling the story very well !As i said , really interesting !!You rock Dunsy!!!
Yeah, Heartbeat is a wee bit lightweight on an otherwise Rocking album - hmmm.... I honestly can't remember if there was a poster. Didn't find one when I dug out the vinyl the other day.
I have to confess, I think i bought Standing Hampton for the cover!😆 Then hid it away from my mum alongside Love Drive and Animal Magnetism! There's only one way to rock has such a great riff too.
I didn't actually know that until I did a bit more research into the players on the album. A really great release, even now listening to it I'm blown away by how good it sounds.
