So glad you mention Deaky, he's mostly overlooked and often underrated as a bassist, yet he's an very talented musician. Fun fact: John Deacon played most of the instruments on Another One Bites the Dust: lead and rhythm guitars, bass, piano and additional percussion. Roger Taylor added a drum loop and Brian May contributed noises with his guitar and an Eventide Harmonizer.

I love this video also!! When I go to the dentist they give me disposable glasses that look like the pair Freddie is wearing; so me being a Queen fan since early 70s I mention "The Invisible Man" at first the staff looks at me a little funny; then I explain the video and who sings it; they always comment they'll check it out!! Just doing my part to spread the exceptional band QUEEN!!

Listening out to the bass of John Deacon, and Freddie's beautiful voice and it's versatility, and Roger and Brian's incredible contributions. Thank you once again for your insightfulness, I so love all Freddie and Queen's hidden gems. The Invisible Man has to be one of my favorites, outside of their most popular hits.

I connect this to more of Freddie leaving a message - to the youngsters. Freddie was a serious Godfather, followed up with how they were doing. Now tells them he is with them always - an invisible man, but there. Freddie calling the names puts a great stamp on who Queen 'were', him, Roger, John and Brian. Him singing never had a real good friend plants a seed for their parents to explain Freddie when old enough to understand his life specifics. The cartoon style pictures and the kid having a secret from the parents entices kids to look at the video. And, the bass having such a big role will lovingly appeal to Deaky's children. Wonderful reaction. I love this, you must know. Yes "What a song?" Tears here - maybe happy tears cause Freddie was such a special personality and his songs from 89 thru 91 talk to all of us.

@@naomithompson7572 I know. My heartfelt relationship with Freddie and Queen is weirdly Freddie centric. Of course I keep a lot to myself cause 'nothing really matters'. I am deeply involved in thinking about each of them and how perfectly they worked together. Brilliant Freddie was truly generous, unselfish Freddie and 'teamwork' thrived under him. Thus my analogy.

LOL - it took you by surprise, huh?! It IS very Ghost Busters to me too. It's so much fun, lots of electronics. Roger wrote it even tho it's credited to Queen. Oh, John plays bass AND rhythm guitar in this. And Roger calls out Freddie's name. Freddie calls out all the other's names.

Roger wrote the song (even though he always said he wasn't too keen on dance music). It's freaking catchy. And yes, there have been some accusations of it being too inspired by the Ghostbusters theme... The video itself is indeed really funny. The guitar solo clip will have been show must go on video. The guitar solo on this always reminds me of the sound of a computer game loading off tape, don't know if that was intentional with the computer game theme of the video.
@42heizer
@42heizer 2 года назад
The whole song, not even the video clip, is a copy of a late 80s console or early PC game. The reduced, but very complex bass combined with the "poor" drums, mirroring the sound abilities of 8bit computer devices of that era. The little "laser" inserts remind to small 8bit midi files to get sound on user action while playing the game. It was a common thing that days, to switch between several characters in a game, played by one player, to expand the game story, which is done here by whispering the band members names and change the song a little. Even Brians guitar seems to get down to a flat 8bit sound. And yes, I think it is imitating a floppy disk sound, too. And try to fade out Freddies vocals in your head, its hard I know, and you hear a perfect late 80s four track, pseudo stereo, computer game soundtrack. Maybe C64, Amiga, SEGA or early Nintendo in an arcade. Load an emulator of late 80s computer stuff and play some games of that time. You will hear it.

You got the IRN BRU at the side, ready to take this one on. If I started doing reaction videos, I'd have shots of Red Stag at the ready. I'm here in America, and when I first heard this song years ago, it kinda blew my mind. This was the band that gave us "Fat Bottomed Girls" and "We Are The Champions". Didn't think I'd hear this until I picked up Greatest Hits II, and this was on it. Queen was rolling on until the end. Freddie didn't want to stop, so why should the rest of the band stop? They knew what was up.
