I've had lots of car insurance over 54 years and the ONLY times I have not had car insurance was when I didn't pay. Even switching. She quit paying car insurance because of money troubles and happened to have an accident.

I worked with a guy that was saving up $1200 to file bankruptcy on $2500, lol. He's in his mid 50's and just never seems to have grown any brains.

Americans marry way too early. Or rather get kids too early. Better to save up some wealth and get married/have kids in early 30s with a good nest wealth built up. Having two kids that are 6yo in your 20s will be so so tough on these guys. Probably paycheck to paycheck for the next foreseeable 25~30 years.

Insurance's job is to NOT pay claims. His description of the accident is 100% at fault for the other party. But lack of insurance is going to hurt credibility.

What is happening? He doesn't know why she is only making pennies and yet they called each other fiancé? Why do they talk about? Weather, Kardashians, new iphone? Probably more interesting topics than life values, priorities and dreams. If she is making 1k a month she better use a transit pass.

I know that calling in the customer service gets a bad rap, but I really get a strange feeling from his story that a major insurance company like Progressive continually hung up on them. It feels more like they tried to explain it to him, and he was not getting it, or maybe that’s what she told him happened, and she’s lying.

Hey, Sid, if you get disconnected in handling a business transaction, you need to immediately call back and resume the conversation. If you got disconnected again by the same company on two calls on the same day that should have been a tip-off that they weren't legitimate, and you should have immediately gone to another insurance company. If they were going to jerk you around while you're trying to sign up to get insured, what do you think they're going to do if you ever have to file a claim?

$16K Sell things. Work more. Cut spending. Anyway, if you ever drive a car that is not paid for, sell it, and bum rides or take the bus.

He & his fiancee wanted to be cast in the play as victims but after reviewing the facts Dave held them at fault for being apathetic instead of aggressively proactive. Grab life by the horns! This is Your future & present day wellbeing you're talking about! You can't just take the backseat as a spectator to your own life. 💩 will happen. You have to learn how to deal quickly and effectively and relent not lest ye be trampled and left for dead! It's okay to young & naive but don't be afraid to ask someone more experienced for advice when life throws you these curve balls!

This guy needs to hire an attorney to dispute liability with the adverse carrier. In Tennessee if you are 49% or less negligent you can recover from the other party. 50/50 is heavy handed usually for a left turn collision, maybe 25/75 is more reasonable and he can recover less their negligent percentage. He needs to follow their advice and mitigate his damages (storage), but he can probably recover and liability will be reviewed as soon as the other insurance company receives a letter of representation from his attorney. They did this on purpose so they don't pay and they won't pursue recovery and there is no insurance company to file arbitration so the only escalation is legal action.

legally speaking you now own the insurance company and can liquidate their assets to cover your loss by taking their stuff by force, KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!

Mid 20s, multiple kids, at least one of which happened in their teens. No insurance. She was named 50% responsible because she likely ran a red but officers couldn't definitively prove it. Literally are making all the wrong choices in life.

My mom didnt have this kind of problem but she is a textbook example of what happens when you let life happen. She never acts until a situation is life threatening or a financial disaster is at the door. Never looked for a better job. Always just went wheree the job put her until it was out the door. Never saved for retirement alrhough my wife and i implored her for years to fund a 401k. Now she scrapes by on $17K/year. Shes good at being cheap but good heavens.
