Great Vid! Love all the effort you're putting into your videos! Btw, Moga I also wanted to let you know you could've done more damage with the same team comp. Your Bennett didn't actually boost your Mona's ult in the final example. The reason why is because, Mona's Ult doesn't snapshot and Bennett's buff doesn't linger too long. To put it simply when you ulted on Mona and changed to Bennett to pop it, Your Mona was off the field so she didn't get the bennett ult buff, and then your bennett popped the bubble without the atk buff on Mona. So, one way to work around this is while your waiting for the ICD for like 2 seconds do not switch off Mona, instead stay as her for 2 seconds, then quickly switch to Bennett and then use his E to pop the bubble. This should make it so you vaporize and pop the bubble with the Atk buff on Mona, (since Bennett's buff lingers for a while). I also was able to pop Mona's Bubble with Bennett's E maybe it didn't pop there because Masanori was on his special phase, like that random phase where he glows purple and is really strong, where he doesn't get frozen and cc'ed. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know but still Great vid and really educational stuff.
I have never heard of the term “poise dmg” after 6 months of playing, I know some enemies get knocked back like when I fight childe but the more you know ig
i know it from other games (like dark souls) and i noticed, that some attacks can more easily stagger enemies (like claymore and overload) so i kinda knew it was there... but ye i also didnt classify it as such
About Poise: When an enemy does an interruptable attack (like boss enemy attack, geovishap double jump, etc) it has infinite poise also when an enemy has elemental armour (fatui shield, abyss mage shield, lawachurl shield, etc.) it has infinite poise aswell. also if the enemy is frozen (idk about petrefied) it has infinite poise thats why Mona is the best choice for dmg in Morgana
It also works for petrified but with a C0 Zhongli you'll hardly see the difference. Also another reason why Mona is really good for Morgana is that her burst can actually extend the duration of freeze with C1, also with C0 but that requires a certain rotation 👍
*all freeze teams* not just Morgana. Mona + Ayaka is nutty. Throw TotM set and TToDS on Mona (assuming you have Noblesse on the other support character) and she’s a BiS freeze team buffer and hydro applicator. Her personal damage is really negligible but if you want to min/max her ..go off.
Yea he does this everytime he gets an artifacts like i dont know how his mind works i would be so happy about so many pieces he got like anytime he gets a flower/feather with double crit 3 starter he is like uhm it can be ok I GUESS like dude🤣
@@Chaara_ That's exactly the thing, I can get all of double crit, atk%, ER and EM (One being a main-stat), but if the ratio is way off it won't beat the pieces I have. Some people do underestimate the value of stats besides crit, especially EM, or the benefits of consistently ulting off cooldown, but there's an extent to which that applies. Then there's low rolls too, I've learned not to get excited until it's +16 and rolled well.
@@Gnurklesquimp Agreed. I had a really good piece for Zhongli, but it somehow all rolled 32 Def% and nothing else. And another piece for a Raiden that rolled equally on all 4 sub stats so I only had a small boost in Crit dmg, Crit R, EM, and ER. Would have been better if it rolled into one or two consistently instead of all of them one time. (still a good piece, but the rolls didn't boost her stats by much)
Mona was the 1st character I decided to invest into and do big dmg with, my highest dmg number was from back then in those first few months for the longest time. Between her and Jean being my 1st 5*'s, I had A LOT of gimmicks to play around with, I consider myself very lucky for having had to rely on them and really exploring their kits as a result. Still my favorite standard 5*'s to this day, I even prefer them over quite some limited ones, and their cons are so welcome.
@@mavvynne444 I was picking enemies up with Jean, spinning them counter to the direction of Pyronado on the border of Dandelion Field, I am what you call a Sigma Male, we adapt, we outperform, we dominate.
While Yoimiya does little to no poise when attacking, this actually makes it possible to inflict enemies with pyro so the omen explosion will be a vaporize.
You shouldve tried doing a mona nuke! Would've been quite nice to see although it might take quite a long time/a lot of deaths if ur not careful. The setup is mona being the burst dps. People usually do it on Raiden shogun boss. So when raiden goes down after her electro shield phase you do mona ult > sucrose swirl hydro (give sucrose like 900+ em) then do a bennett burst and at the end do a yanfei burst and switch to mona and wait for it to burst and itll vaporise and you'll do a lot! I did 400k and i was very surprised. So its a mona nuke not like mona ult then a pyro attack. Amazing video as always you are one of my favourite content creators 😄
There's also a crazy setup with Bennett, Kazuha and Zhongli, using Zhongli's pilar so not all of Kazuha's kit hits the enemy (Which would ruin the AoE vape), Mona has such wonderfully convoluted techniques... Are they really worth it compared to nuking with others? I can't really think of a practical case for it, but you can do it, and it hits REALLY hard. LACola has a bunch of videos showing various ways to deal with her limitations, there's a lot of different setups that interact with poise in particular.
@@Gnurklesquimp Uh yeah it is worth comparing her nuke with others since she has a really amazing burst and also a burst dmg bonus she gives so yeah its pretty worth it
i’ve literally never heard of poise dmg until right now and i’ve been playing since 2020 💀 i thought the terms were just staggering/super-armor/interruption resistance… and this was actually really informative i don’t really use my mona bc i didn’t know how to play her but now i do so thank you!
I've been raising Mona too, lately, and I've low-key fallen in love with her? Like, once you get used to the alternate sprint, you start to really love it. She's pretty versatile, applies hydro pretty consistently, and she's just so fun to play with.
For anyone interested in poise mechanic: in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice where you have to break an enemy's stance in order to deal a high damage blow. Certain attacks like plunging or grappling inflict a bigger hit on the poise meter, and the player themself has one of their own (assuming they are blocking with their weapon
one mona setup I've seen a lot recently and seems to work very well, is against raiden boss after you get her electro shield down, you do mona burst > sucrose skill once(4pc vv) > benny burst (instructor, should proc since sucrose doesn't remove hydro), then yanfei burst (thrilling tales + 4pc noblesse for atk bonus) then switch to mona and wait for her burst to go off, ive seen people hit very high with this setup
I cried when I got Mona but to this day, she's one of my strongest buffer and support dps. I even crowned her burst because she is definitely a top tier support.
you should try raiden + fischl + mona + benny comp. i find that the energy recharge on this team has constant bursts. i don’t have a specific rotation but you could try bennett burst, mona burst, fischl e then raiden burst
In your vaporize tutorial, you are supposed to switch to bennett right before using the e, so that mona can keep the attack buffs and such (because for whatever reason she doesn't snapshot).
the way the bubble stays on even when hit sometimes has more to do with the enemy and where it is in the fight. certain enemies have animations or move sets with infinite poise. during those you can actually attack enemies as much as you want without breaking the bubble. freezing an enemy does the same thing. to add to this, the best and easiest way to pop the bubble with a vaporize is actually to hit the enemy with a pyro attack while the bubble is on the enemy and they are currently doing a move or animation with infinite poise. then instead of having to wait two seconds and hope you get the timing right with the pyro attack, you can either wait for the bubble to pop on its own and it will vaporize its self, or you can use a physical normal attack to pop it which will still cause a vaporize on its own. i've personally done this on maguu kenki, using mona's burst and hitting the boss with 2 pyro hits during its transformation to its second phase where it summons the clone. even though you can't do damage or knockback during that, you can still apply buffs, elements, and debuffs. its the perfect time for a nuke setup. then once it enters the next phase it often teleports away to the other side of the arena, and then explodes for like half its remaining health or more before it can do anything. i'm sure someone with better artifacts and characters could likely insta nuke it once it enters the next phase with mona.
I love Mona so much. I got her on standard banner a few months after I started playing and I use her at any chance I can. She’s wonderful at boosting the damage of just about any team, has a really consistent taunt that lasts awhile and can pop up when you’re retreating with her sprint (great for running away when you need to back away from some especially scary enemies), and her animations are some of the prettiest in the game. I love her a lot… story, character design, personality, gameplay, everything.
really took me a long time to try mona because i thought her burst was really complex, but i like her on ayaka’s freeze team! although, i like kokomi’s hydro application than mona’s!
Mona and Childe can also do double nuke, pretty old setup, but you can nuke with both Mona burst and Childe burst in one rotation. The team is Childe, Mona, Bennett and Sucrose. Start with Mona normal attack (to hydro tag enemy), Sucrose E (swirl hydro for VV, and clear that hydro tag), Bennett Q (pyro tag to enemy), Mona Q (empty DMG vape the pyro tag, clear any elemental tag on enemy), Bennett hold E level 1, make sure by the time it hit, you passed 2 seconds already for ICD (2x pyro tag, first one to vape nuke Mona bubble, and second one to pyro tag enemy for Childe) then finally Childe Q for your second vape nuke with Childe. Very nice setup for big PP DMG for RU-vid back then when the game in version 1.1
For the poise, Jean can be really good, her charged atk launches them and if it:s a small enough enemy, she will automatically break the poise meter. I use her as my burst dps but she could be used as a main dps too.
As a Mona main, she is seriously underrated, she has amazing cc and her burst is ridiculous, although on the contrary yes Kokomi is a better hydro applicator but Mona burst fusion is nuts. Mine is lv 90, C2, 9-9-9 💙, plus Mona with Ganyu is a bad neighborhood! And even with Ayaka, overall love Mona 💙💯
When it comes to vaporizing Mona's burst theres a trick to it. You have to use it on an enemy already inflicted with pyro, which will trigger a vaporize immediately but wont break her burst bubble. then you must wait for the 2.5-3 second reaction cooldown and use a pyro attack again which will immediately inflict pyro on the enemy before the bubble burst and trigger a vaporize for big pp dmg. The easiest way I i have learned to do this is by paring up Diluc and Mona for a vaporize team. use Diluc first Elemental skill attack to inflict pyro, then immediately switch to Mona use your burst, then switch back to Diluc wait a second, then hit the enemy with Diluc second attack in his elemental skill combo to make Mona's burst Vaporize.
Wait is Mona using khaenri'ah technology? Because I noticed that when Mona uses her burst she holds a star similar to Kaeya, and when Kaeya uses his burst he holds that similar star in his hand, and that star represents the nation of khaenri'ah if I'm correct. We can see that kind of star when we explored the underground mine of the chasm.
Same. The only time I had a problem was when I did a Genshin Challenge for a Twitch stream and I had to main Kazuha, Thoma, Raiden, and Xingqui at level 60. It was rough.
Actually Mona has a very interesting setup on raiden, which has a huge dmg increase, I somehow achieved 1.7M with her This is if anyone wants to try -after raiden’s “hand” phase (idk how to call it) she has a a -50% res decrease, so -Mona burst -sucrose swirl (4 piece vv, swirl once) -Benny burst (4 piece instructor) -yanfei burst (thrilling tales and 4 piece noblesse) -switch to Mona, wait a few seconds for the bubble to explode Good luck!
I built my Mona as DPS If you use Kagura on her she can do a huge amount of bubble damage. She is incredible to clear bosses for farming Try her with widtsith if you can. I gave my Mona an ATK time piece and I enjoy playing her in a shock therapy team! Get even more damage if you swirl with Sucrose or Kazuha. Keep up the good work and try doing some big burst damage videos you'll have a ton of fun
It would be very interesting you revisting Kazuha and using him as a pure support, and to visit nuking or speedrunning (kinda like you did with the raiden team in the new domain). Loved the video tho and I'm really excited that you'e made it through all your characters!!
4pc emblem for nuke mona (in a vape comp, with lots of ER and EM) actually looks really interesting !! i think it's better to give her a 4pc oblige in a freeze team though
fun fact: When fighting oceanid, on the edge of the platform, theres an underwater platform that Zhongli can place his pillar on so you can stand on it to fight the birds.
0:35 i relate so much. indeed those are the trifecta of trash. i hate farming those things soo soo much. and thats the reason my mona is still where she was 1.5 years ago.
I've never heard of poise. I've only heard of stagger resistance, some enemies can't be staggered in the middle of their attack string, which allows her bubble not to pop and last longer, it's really fun because you have more time to stack buffs lol.
Now that Mona’s raised, can you try Morgana comp? Ganyu Venti Mona Flex Cryo Spot (usually rosaria or Diona) I don’t think you’ve tried it before? But it’s arguably one of the best team comps to date! You generally spam bursts on the 3 and use the flex spot when needed.
For future reference if your boss farming, for pc --> esc-hold to quit- and go back in. Right then and there in boss room. It auto respawns sooo be sure to be ready to fight when you spawn back in. Its faster than waiting or leaving the zone or teleporting else where and back. Hope i made it easier for you fellas. Aslo as an example when fighting or farming hydro hypostaisis in inazuma you have to travel a little so doing this method will help and save time. Again have fun farming guys hope its easier for you guys
@@sassyweasel5757 Ok, on Raiden boss lvl 60 Have Mona on the field at least 40 seconds before Raiden's shield goes down, don't switch out under any circumstances. When her shield is down, immediately use Mona's burst. It won't explode when you attack it since Raiden has a shield. Swirl hydro by using Kazuha's E (Sucrose works here too, but Kazuha works better if you get the Elemental mastery buff on Mona) Use Bennett's burst Switch to Yanfei and use her burst Switch back to Mona to activate widsith buff. Builds: Mona (lvl 90/90) Widsith (might be spelled incorrectly) r3 lvl 90 4pc emblem of severed fate. Burst is crowned C4 Split is about 45/235. Try to get a decent amount of energy recharge. Kazuha (lvl 90/90) Iron sting r1 lvl 80 4pc viridecent venerer Around 880 EM Triple crowned (not required) Bennett (lvl 90/90) Mistsplitter Reforged r1 (Aquila favonia works too. Alley flash is the best alternative.) Lvl 90 4pc instructor (If you're using Sucrose instead of kazuha, only swirl hydro once so that Bennett's burst vaporizes.) Lvl 9 burst C6 Yanfei (Lvl 40/40) Thrilling tales of dragon slayers r5 4pc Noblesse oblige
Just keep in mind that normal bow attacks won't break poise. Normal attacks from bow, sword, and catalyst won't break poise. Polearms sometimes break poise with normal. And any attacks from Claymore, charges attacks from sword and polearm will break poise. So Before using Mona keep this in mind. I got Mona as my first 5-star. I thought she was useless since I use to play bow characters. But I learned about poise and switched to sword characters.
New Mog Horizon video! I'm currently building my Mona as a dps since she reached C6 and all her constellations hint at her playing that role. Love your videos!
a little advice about vaporising mona burst wait WITH mona ON benny burst for 2 sec then switch to benny and quickly explode the bubble because mona burst doesnt snapshot and waiting with benny will make mona lose benny atk buff take care y'all and have nice day/night
One thing to note about Mona's ulti at the end of the video. Mona was not buffed by Benny's ulti since the buff lasts for 2s after switching out (might be 3s, not exactly sure). One way around that is to wait the 2s with Mona inside Benny's ulti before switching to Benny to tap his E (assuming you can do poise dmg with the tap E).
In the end there 18:16 Mona didn't have Bennett burst atk buff because she left the field for too long already, could have just stayed with mona for 2 seconds then bennett press E on a better choice of enemy
Finally, Mona is in God Mode! Just sharing a little something but, as you said mona can get hydro dmg bonus from her er, so you can actually go ER Sands and an atk gob, and the emblem set gives more dmg bonus than noblesse so this actually balances out in how a normal character would have their stats and more bonus in set bonuses. So atleast 70 from set and sands ER ascenscion and with that alr 200 er that gives 40 hydro dmg bonus and elem burst bonus. So yeah, as usual great content, fun to watch, hoping for more god modes!
Currently trying to build Mona for my friend, so the whole poise thing is super interesting and useful, especially because she requested I build her as a main DPS. Thanks for this one.
Mona vaporize is possible, u need to make sure your enemy is affected by pyro before putting the bubble, you have to wait for 2.5 or 3 seconds to proc vaporize because icd, you can practice the vaporize combo to a pyro Regisvine
Wild that after a year and a half of playing I’ve never noticed the poise mechanics. I suppose I did notice them (particularly with really heavy attacks like Xiao’s plunges or Klee’s bombs) but I somehow didn’t know.
Quick tip: in that Bennett Mona Xiangling team, Xiangling is the main DPS. Mona's ability to inflict constant hydro while Xiangling Vaporizes is her main purpose in that case
