Ecaz is actually in the original dune books and is expanded upon in the prequel ones done by Herbert's son. They're not described enough to say if they fit them good enough and they changed Armand Ecaz to Armanda (similar to Liet's change) which is non-canonical but otherwise it's from the books. House Ordos from the original games (e.g. dune 2, dune 2000 etc.) is actually completely made up.

huh, I'm in the middle of a re-read of the first three books and I haven't seen mention of them anywhere. Have no recollection of them. Links to source?

@@Renfail It's definitely mentioned in House Atreides as well as House Harkonnen by Brian Herbert where they mention the original Ecaz revolts as well as Moritani vs Ecaz Kanly and public execution of Ecaz members. As for the original series by Frank, I believe there was a one line about the aformentioned revolted in relation to Leto's past but I might be wrong there.

I think the reference to House Ordos is from the Dune Encyclopedia, which although not written by Frank Herbert, did receive his approval.

"House" Ecaz isn't in the original books. The planet going by that name is and mentioned as a source of fine arts. House Ecaz proper comes from the prequel novels.

an online game is usually 1.5 - 2 hrs played at 1.5x speed (that is a very playable speed though)

my problem with the art style(and this is with OG Dune and Dune 2 for NES) is that it uses the movies style. i like the cartoon look, i think its great, and i know they have no choice but to use the movie but i wish for one day, an Original take on Dune. OR idk why they dont use Jodorowskys Dune art style for games like this. Just ask the man for his blessing first. Good review.

Sadly, House Ordos was an idea of Westwood, and since Westwood didn't make Spice Wars, there is no House Ordos in this game

Why did you play at easy? All of your save files says easy in the video. Also no reviewer shows or discusses combat. Why it is so?

Nobody discusses combat because combat is extremely simple and micro plays a very small role. You basically send your units, position them right and draw low hp units back while maybe doing some "focus fire". It's infinitely more simple than wc3 or sc2 in terms of combat. This game shines on the strategy level, not the micro management level.

@@Renfailstill there hasn't been great upgrade on c and c tiberium wars, kanes wrath dune 2000 id buy remodeled versions of those for sure dragging me feet on this one, cause time poor and instant gratification could be lacking here, id love to love it. possibly environment and feel is enough to jump in and role play dune theme is enough.
