Hiii I'm Dari!
Just as a little info, I'm from Germany and English isn't my native language, so I might struggle to find the right words or do some grammatical errors from time to time. Doing these videos helps me a lot to learn and improve, so I hope you can forgive me and still enjoy my videos :)

This was a really well done analysis and breakdown of the season! Thank you for putting in the effort to make this. I found it really hard to dislike Halbrand at this point in the show even knowing who he is. I'm not sure if that was intentional, and I'm sure I'll be rooting against him later on, but he was likeable for most of the season. So I totally get you putting him in that position on your list. I've even seen some people who want a Galadirel + Halbrand spinoff series where she decides to be his queen in an alternate reality. 🤣

I mean, Sauron was always described as being able to be VERY charismatic and endearing, so I guess the show did a great job with that 😂 we would all fall for his disguise. and I would LOOOVE to see a spinoff with evil Galadriel, that would be so cool!

I think I understand why I liked your videos so much. After hearing your final thoughts I can see that we really dove into this show with a very similar mindset, honestly I don’t think I could add so much more to what you already said. I think the greatest problem was indeed their choices on the flow and editing of the story (that for many times felt too rushed, or too slow, or too confusing) and this is something I really hope and believe they will pay more attention to in the future. Also, there were too many characters, and some honestly wouldn’t make any difference, so I would have appreciated them use this time for other issues that were more interesting and demanding in the plot. But I still give kudos to them for even trying to give life to this show, it’s definitely no easy feat having to cater to so many different audiences all at once: the book readers, the hardcore fans, the casual movie fans, and the ones who are knowing the universe for the first time. Maybe that’s why for moments the show aims to many directions and fails sometimes to hit the mark. But with that said, I really did feel the soul of Tolkien’s work there, the essence of this universe that we’ve come to love for decades. And the visuals, the music and many of the actings were flawless. It has an amazing potential to grow even bigger and be even better. And I, as one who’s read the books, watched the movies countless times (even the Hobbit that so many despise), really enjoyed this trip back to middle-earth, give me a ticket any day and I’ll be smiling

great summary, I completely agree with you 😊 I think of this season as one big introduction to this world and that's why it probably felt a bit rushed or too much at once. I'm sure now that we know the basics, we will get to see a lot more deeper character moments and scenes that will enhance the plot even more :) They definitelt had a tough job with such a broad audience, but I think so far they did really good 🥰

I have to agree with there being too many characters that add very little to the plot. I thought the whole Isildur sister scenes were unecessary. I'm thinking they were trying to make the show feel bigger and more complex, but lets face it; Tolkien's writings were never meant to be complex so it just winds up feeling disjointed and forced. Not every fantasy series has to be Game of Thrones.

I did like Galadriel quite a lot. Her motives are clear - death of her brother. She is growing and mistakes do happen then. I liked this show and want to see more.

@@SidariYumanara I hope we will see reactions from you on the next 4 seasons of this wonderful show. To me this this was like the old-fashioned Hollywood epics in the fact that it took it's time to build the World of Middle Earth, & develop the characters, even though we already know this world from the books & films. This also took the time to build up the threat that Sauron posed instead of diving into the threat headfirst. As we can see, this show is proof that you can do something special with a lavish budget. It looks like the $1 billion dollars they spent on the show is paying off as the show has managed to stay in the top ten Amazon Prime shows for quite a while now & is currently in 6th place. It may move up. They not only finished filming the second season in June, but I have read a report that the show has been renewed for a third season & will start filming in Southern England as soon as the strikes are over. Five seasons are planned & I have a feeling that we will get seasons 4 & 5 shortly as well. Season 2 will come out next year & I have read that Sauron will be the main focus of season 2. The reasons for the show moving from New Zeeland to the UK is because Amazon Studios already invested in studio space, the New Zeeland Boarder Policies at the time. Plus, the Tolkien Estate wanted the show to film in the UK because it's where Tolkien got the most inspired while writing his books & last, but not least, it's cheaper to film there. Anyway, looking forward to the next 4 seasons. I hope you are too.

What a beautiful show, epic and nuanced at the same time. Loved every episode, and Udun was 10/10, and then the finale... wow, so magical, so Tolkien. I think the Halbrand/Sauron-Galadriel storyline is actually brilliant, and it adds so much depth to the story we knew. Amazing actors and performance too! And so much more to come. Btw, loooove the Harfoots and the Stranger (and Daniel Weyman's portrayal), really hoping he is Gandalf! Seeing this origin story for him is nice, warm, and explains his love for the hobbits and his kind heart. Other options would be cool and more surprising, but things shouldn't be complicated and twisted, he seems to be him, and it's awesome. For me, first season is 9,5/10. The little missteps are nothing important, and they are fun even. Hopefully it keeps this level, and one day we can look back and see it full circle and say yeah, this was a 10/10. Namarië!

Actually, you are amazing! You are being so fair, and open minded about this AWESOME show. You shine like the light of Valinor compared to the Darkness of all the hateful channels. Your keeping of the Toxic people off of here is like how the Valar keeps evil out of Valinor.

My tier as follows 🤭 I guesss it's very similar to yours 💓 PERFECTION: Durin, Elrond, Disa (I could watch a show only with them and I'd be happy) ❤ I Loved: Arondir, the Istar/Gandalf(?), Halbrand/Sauron (He went up on my list after the finale), Adar, Sadoc, Durin the dad (*interesting to see that so many original characters made such a good impression on me) 🧡 Did a good job: Nori, Poppy, Elendil, Galadriel, Miriel 💛 I'm placing my bets they will be better next seasons: Celebrimbor, Ar-Pharazon, Isildur 💚 Whatever (didn't hate nor love): Gil-Galad, the Mystics, Theo, Browyn, Waldreg 💙 Meh... : Earien, Kemen, Ontamo, Valandil

We have almost the same rankings :) Although, I wouldn't put Elendil in S-tier but rather on C-tier for me. I also like Elrond in this adaptation so much I'll put him on S-tier too. Furthermore, Halbrand-Galadriel duo for me is both A-tier and then finally, Adar did a good job of being a sympathetic villain so, he's A-tier for me as well.

I'll be honest, Elendil definitely doesn't deserve the S-Tier rank just for his character alone, but I just couldn't help myself 😂

how is it "plot convenience"? do you even know what it means? There are several things in the show, or in the movies, even in the books, that could be called "plot convenience", but the three sorceress are not among them... Stop parroting words you don't understand, that doesn't make you look smart, quite the opposite.

Please read the books. This show was an insult to the writings and genius of J.R.R. Tolkien and if you don't like to read listen to the audio books especially The Silmarillion since it can be a difficult read.
@dm_7081
@dm_7081 Год назад
I really thought if I should respond to your comment or not, after all I think you're just pleasing yourself with insult to feel somewhat superior and probably has no intention to engage in reasonable conversation and therefore should just be ignored BUT lucky you I'm a little bored right now to tell you this: you know that people can read and love the books AND enjoy adaptations, right? That one thing does not exclude the other, right? You do know that people are different and enjoy different things in different ways, right? Well, I really hope you do. Otherwise maybe then you should give a break on your Tolkien's books to live reality a little. You're not entitled to tell people what they are allowed to like, nor assume what people are or have done based on their taste. Find someone else to patronize, find another channel to share your hate
