When the effects start to wear off, you may want to add Dutasteride 1-2 days a week and Formula 82F (topical minoxidil, finasteride, & tretinoin compounded)
I started losing hair at 18, it has receded a bit and my top is thinning, do you think Dr. Knusden's 1mg pill three times a week is a good amount for a 21 year old.
La verdad ya me resigne pero voy intentarlo por un año con la pastilla de 5 miligramos dividida en 1 miligramo pasado el año compartiré los resultados, que marca de pastilla me recomiendan
I actually became less depressed after starting fin. I think knowing I was doing the best I could for my hair loss helped me relax but I also started eating better as well which I’m sure helped.
@@Daniel-ld7xs I've been on it for over a year now and my hair has improved dramatically. I'm only lightly thinning around my crown area now (were it started from). A lot of people don't even notice I'm balding until I point it out and even then it doesn't look so bad/creepy. It would be so much worse if I hadn't started like omg I cant even imagine. I also use minoxidil and take CBD pills ever day which I notice really helps. I recently got blood work done and had high testosterone so any myths about it being feminizing are false.
Same with me. Before starting finasteride I was depressed. I didn't even have energy to go out. Now after starting finasteride I am really energetic and happy all the times. Also really motivated to do things, going out, eating healthy, working out, reading books etc.
I personally take both oral proscat at 1mg oral dutastride at 0.5 mg. I also use keto shampoo, minoxidil and ru58841. I also do weekly dr pen microndeedling. Been seeing good results.

Damn bro i remember you saying in your initial videos you wont ever take finasteride if needed you will get another transplant and see here you are already on 14 months on fin without any sides 😉🙂
Your hair looks great Matt, seems finasteride has been working really well for you! Also, since you have been on it for 1 year, it might get even thicker overtime! :)
@@letsgethair the most important thing is not to continue progressing, that is great, but you are right that finasteride works for you and you will be able to mantain most if not all of your actual hair, and your hair is not fabulous but it is pretty good, especially knowing your relatively aggressive and early alopecia.
Some say fint also only work for so long...8-12 years. Any truth in this? I can't see it. What i think is the hair is still getting hurt by T. Much slower...?? Thoughts?
Hey MATTDOMINANCE just wondering, what are you currently doing for your hair loss right now? I'm currently using Finasteride 1mg daily, Minoxidil every 12 hours & just recently stopped using iRestore for the 3rd time. I also switched back to 1mg Fin from the 5mg split and taken 3 days per week which my clinic recommended. I'm 17 months post op 1805 FUE Transplant.
I took finasteride and it definitely crushed my libido....which sucked. So i got off of it. But if people take it and it doesn't affect them negatively. LUCKY!
It took at least 6 months for side effects to get away. Moreover you can cut the dosage too or how often you take it each week. Should have went to dermatologist.
Dude, your English improved tremendously since you started this channel. Also your eyes are really beautiful, I've been staring at them the whole time.
I'm glad you touched on the depression as one of the symptoms. After roughly 4 months on oral fin (1mg/day) I started experiencing low mood/anxiety. I have stopped taking it and the symptom went away. I am back to normal now after 2-3 weeks and I am considering going back on fin but switching to topical version.
@@WofireHD yeah I did. My t levels are actually in the high range. Besides that I am holding a lot of muscle mass and body hair. My GP also did tests for liver/kidney/blood count/diabetes check / thyroid gland / sex-steroid hormones LH/FSH and testosterone / 'stress' steroid hormone (glucocorticoid) cortisol - these were all normal.
@@butryk22 I assume you had no libido side effects? I took 1mg daily for 6 months (in 2019), and I had no issues but then I noticed my anxiety baseline was higher and once had a panic attack when I lifters too much weight on a day I wasn’t feeling well and felt horrible for the next months that I had to start therapy and taking St. John wort (herbal anti depressant) and stopped finasteride. Doctors told me it’s not because of finasteride, who knows so I gave it a shot again where I started 4 months ago taking 1mg but only 3x times a week (and still taking St. John wort, which I will stop end of March). So far all is good, hope it remains so after stopping the anti depressant, hope this is the sweet spot between keep as much hair as possible and reducing side effects big time.
@Benghali In Platforms actually I took all of these this year at after the panic disorder, things improved big time (and now taking them & finasteride ) but I am also taking St John’s Wart so who knows what worked :)
I did my hair transplant 2 yrs back now its diffuse like you can i take finestried ? If i tale finestried medicine which one is best and how to take the medicine?
Why don't you give topical minoxidil a try? It should definitely help you with density & regrowth and should be able to maximize the results you have got with finasteride.
I found it really thickened my crown area after 8 months.. however started getting libido issues at a year long stage. I now do a couple months on and a month off of it.
@@Underpressure82 no worries... Yes i was the same, always had a strong crown, i started noticing the front section going and got the h/t done.. It was my barber that said.. “you’re going really thin in the back” so i looked for ways to deal with it. If i wasnt balancing up the crown with the strong front after h/t it would look silly... I wish i had got onto the medication sooner to be honest. But as you said the thinning just springs up on you out of nowhere. Just starting a month now on no finasteride. I do feel a month off helps you out and also next to no change in a month on crown area.
@@Underpressure82 i dont want to apply it everyday and have greasy / wet hair, just sounds like a chore using it. Ill just stick to the ease of finasteride as its completely stabilised and thickened the crown area.
Got a Question foryou. Im reading some people and Kevin Mann seems to think that its best for most people to start with Finasteride first without any minoxidil so that way as many hairs as possible become strong without reliance on Minoxidil, since they work in different mechanisms that if you want to stop the Minoxidil down the road it may be "too late" for the Finasteride to work on those hairs that came back due to the minoxidil rather than the Finasteride. Do you have any thoughts on this? Im either going to start with finasteride alone or both and not sure.
Matt, how many hairs do you shed every day? I'm currently on Finasteride ,along with mixing Minoxidil and Alfatradiol. Shedding 30-40 hairs everyday. I'm thinking about doing Minoxidil and RU55841. What do you think?
I don´t think it is a good idea to replace what you are doing now with RU and Minoxidil. You can add RU on top as @butryk already suggested. I have been shedding less than 30 hairs a day with Fin only for almost a year. I added topical D recently
Hi Matt, quick question. How long after a hair transplant can you apply hair fibres? I’m just curious to know as I’m trying to hide a HT during the initial growth process
I think it does. I’ve stopped using it, most of the time i just use a beanie when i’m out, only when i really need to show my hair like professional setting is when i wear it
Matt im using 5% minoxidal and have a bit of a burning sensation also it seems to have shedded more of my hair,is this normal been using kirkland minoxidal can u advise thanks.
Hello Matt, why did you switch from topical finasteride to oral finateride? I'm currently on topical finasteride 1% since 6 month (i was before on oral finasteride during many years) and I haven't noticed yet hairloss.
Hell Matt, your hair looks really good now bro, keep up the good work on your scalp. What do you think about using Minoxidil in combo? I know you didn't mention it , and you probably don't like the oily like substance of Minoxidil.
Hi Matt hope you doing well 🙂 I ve been using hair fibers for quite some time now and I see that you have already used it. You know if hair fjbers does possibly cause health problems like lungs illnesses since we users do inhale some even with using masks since hair fibers are really small.there are different chimicals in hair fibers Thanks
@Pep those things are so tiny you can find they're go everywhere on you, you still will breathe some anyways, the best thing is to know if there's any brand that doesn't damage your health "if there's any".
I want to take finasteride but the side effects are putting me off... I suffer from depression so I don't know if it's a good idea¿ But my hair is thinning/shedding at a first rate too, also my hairline is receding more. Ultimately I might just bite the bullet and see what happens
matt i was using 1 mg finasteride everyday for the past 6 months after my hair transplant and my dr also suggested but recently i noticed my estrogen was on boderline so my dr said lower the dose to 1 mg every other day but now after lowering the dose i noticed my hair thickness has come down what can i do now my friend ???

Hi Matt. I have had my hair transplant last week and the clinic gave me 5mg finasteride tablets, they have advised me to cut them quarterly and take daily (so that's 1.25 mg per dose). I have two questions i want your opinion on.. Will they still be effective if i take 3/4 days a week rather than everyday? What if i want to stop taking them after a year or two? (Will my hair suddenly fall? Is it like a trap that i can't stop taking them otherwise my hair will fall?) I'm kinda nervous to start taking them but at the same time want the best result for my hair. Thanks
Taking 1.25mg 3/4 times a week long term will be as effective as 1mg every day. However, if you took 1mg every day, you would have reached full finasteride accumulation in the scalp faster. That´s why some docs advise 1mg daily for the first month or so and then take it every other day. But what you were advised is also fine. Of course, if you stop taking it later, you will notice increased shedding and hair may also look thinner.
@@letsgethair A single oral dose of finasteride produces a rapid decrease in serum DHT concentrations, with the maximum effect observed within 8 hours. DHT suppression is maintained for at least 24 hours with continued treatment.
I’m thinking to book transplant in turkey this summer but live in the UK. Do you think clinics would be understanding and refund / postpone transplant dates if unexpected travel bans are in place?

@@reiserkeiser Yes, I already know about the diminishing returns of finasteride and the studies supporting its effectiveness starting at 0.2 mg, but since Matt has no side effects at his current dose, maybe that small increase in effectiveness with the standard dose is worth it at least the first two years of treatment when is the peak of the drug , but it's just an opinion. I have used 1.25 mg of finasteride for 3 years with excellent results and recently dropped to 0.625 mg, we will see if I keep what I gained with this dose.
Thanks. Not really. I have most likely reached an effective Finasteride concentration in my serum and scalp after 1 year of F use. 1.25 for the start is only good for coming onto an effective Finasteride concentration in your scalp faster. If you do 0.5mg, you reach this state a bit slower but eventually you will reach it. Maintaing your hair with 0.5mg F after 1 year of use is just fine. 1.25 won't bring you any additional benefits in this case

That´s one of the many reasons why Finasteride is not recommended for women. Men are not likely to get breast cancer because of Finasteride. Last time I was looking into it, it was like 1 out of every 100 breast cancer cases is a man. You are unlikely to get breast cancer because you are a man to begin with. Finasteride doesn´t play a major role here.
