hi, please advise what should I do) My situation is not dire, but the process has started, what is better: start taking finasteride and minoxidil together with a mesoscooter or get a transplant right away?) the transplant for me will cost only $800 since you have your own hair. but if I get a transplant, it turns out that in any case I will be prescribed finasteride for life to save my hair?! This is the problem: transplant or finasteride with minoxidil( sorry for google translate)
@@kan9295 A transplant usually is not a good solution if your hair loss is progressing, or you are still young, or there are underlying problems that could be causing it. Even with hair transplant if your hair loss is androgeinc then it will likly require to take medication such as finasteride

Hi Alex @SomebodyAlex, great video, thank you! I'm 24 and have been on finasteride since September/October so around 8/9 months. I'm a NW2 atm and haven't noticed any regrowth or stabilisation. My hairline has gotten worse, not drastically but I can see that it has slowly thinned and receded. I have been on topical fin since dec 2022 but I have noticied small hair growth and denser hair as a progress. Coming to mental side you need to wait and be on fin. My Dr recommend gfc only if the tiny hair didn't turn up to be big in dec. Peace

Im wanting to take finaestride because none of the treatments I’ve taken have shown the effect I want them to… but at the same time Im worried I may suffer the side effects which is the only thing that’s keeping me away from starting it
Hair loss can be caused by several factors, not just dht and that could be a reason you haven't been able to stop the progression. If the only factor that you are losing hair is because of dht then taking dht blocker like finasteride will help. Regarding side effects, one way to determ is by hormonal test and look at total testosterone compare dht, if dht levels are less then10-15 % of TT then there is a higher possibly for side effects
incredible transformation! Do you cut the 1mg pill in half? Because that's how I'm doing it, I bought the 1mg box and I try to cut the pill in half with a cutter every time I take it. It's only been 2 months, but I'm still the same, my question is if it won't take effect on me or if it loses its effectiveness when cutting it, thank you!
Yes, I have been cutting finasteride (propecia) since 2008 and it's unlikley to lose effectivness when cutting. Results to expect from DHT blocker is incresed thickness of the hair that likely will take longer then 2 months depeing on progression

Now i have mild thinning from my crown to the front of the scalp. Do you think i should take finas 0.5 immedietly or should i consult first?
Hi, I’m not Alex but I will respond to your comment for you. I’m 22 years old, and I got unlucky with my hairline recession starting when I was 17, now I take finasteride 1 gram and my hairline is mostly back to normal, which has been really satisfying for me. Depending on who you are and your genetics, finasteride might not work for everyone as well as the best patient, but from what I know, At your age being 16, I would not really recommend taking finasteride to begin with, but I understand that you are really young and you want to stop your hairline early with the hair that you have before it’s too late. You should definitely ask your GP or a dermatologist to see what the best solution for you is, but generally speaking, I’m pretty sure that a 0.5 would work fine for you, to at least stop the recession before you can take a stronger version to regrow your hair. Again though, best advice anyone can give to you is to ask a doctor first. But finasteride 0.5 is not a bad idea for you to start off with, if you want to save the hair you have left and to maybe even regrow it.

You're really lucky with your results. I managed to control my hair loss for 2-3 years with propecia, regaine, nizoral and derma rolling. Got moderate results with a bit of regrowth (which was good enough cause I was in the early stages of hair loss). For the last year I have started thinning heavily again and I'm kind of accepting it at this point. Wouldn't mind having my hair back though. 😂
@@Andrew-nj9ek well it was thinning, got under control on finasteride for 2-3 years, but then the thinning continued. So I stopped because it wasn't worth the risk of side effects.
@@Andrew-nj9ek yes I did! Had very little side effects apart from a bit of weight gain and brain fog from increased estrogen and lower DHT. That's a side effect of inhibiting 5 alpha reductase. I would get your hormone levels checked before taking it. If you have high estrogen naturally, expect a 5-10% increase for both estrogen and testosterone. So if you already have high estrogen naturally you might get more severe side effects like gynocomastia. Another side effect I noticed was a slow down in the development of my beard and body hair (I was in my early 20s when I started taking it). That skyrocketed when I stopped taking it. A good side effect was an increase in testosterone by about 5-10% and of course reduction in hair loss.
@@Andrew-nj9ek finasteride for most people slows down progression or halts it for a while. It doesn't remove 100% of the DHT though, so depending on how sensitive you are to DHT, the thinning may only slow down. Dutasteride is a stronger inhibitor of 5 alpha reductase and crashes DHT to almost zero, so that would be another alternative. But for me getting rid of all DHT was a bit too risky in terms of side effects.
Yes, if you have compleated the growth cycle with minoxidil. I would suggest getting my RR Formula Workbook it explains it all in the right steps: somebodyalex.com/rrf

I'm 35 and starting to lose my hair its still okay though roughly where you are at the moment. I purchased a years supply of fin 1mg and its sitting in my bedroom unopened unused. Not sure if I should start or not. I think my hair would be okay acceptable for another 5 maybe 10 yeara left alone and then maybe get a transplant when age 40-45 (sides and back still very thick no problems just the temple and top thinning atm) Not sure what to do Start on fin Or just leave it alone and get a transplant in 5-10 years time to fill out the front and top with hairs transplanted from the back
Take finasteride. Because once you bald you'll also looks hair at your crown. If you only get a hair transplant you'll in only certain areas, you'll still have thinning in the other areas eventually. Finasteride is better in the long term. You either keep your current hair with it or grow it back and maintain at the same time. Results are different from everyone. If you can, do both(finasteride and hair transplant) and you'll have a lot of hair to last you for a very long time.
Hop on find asap bro, start working out and stop worrying about it. Don't fear fina, fear what will happens if you don't take it. I'm on 0,5mg daily and so far i don't have any SE, i'm combining that with fluridil (eucapil) and RU58441. So far, so good.
You still have to take finasteride after a transplant or the hair will just fall out. If you are worrying about your hair then jump on it. Been on it for 3 years now, 1.25mg per day. People who use it for prostate take 5mg daily its a safe drug and it works. I get a prescription of 5mg pills then just cut it into quarters and one box lasts me months.
Hi Alex, beautiful results, I'm 29 my hair line receded about 1cm, I got fin prescription, I take like 1.25mg every other day for 3 months now, but hair is falling the same rate and the hairline is thinning further, did I need to try to take fin every day or search for other reasons maybe it's not DHT, because before I notice shedding 2 years ago, I take antibiotics, after that, I got seborrheic dermatitis(or something similar) on my hairline and a lot of dandruff on my head. I heal it with special shampoo, but maybe it's still doing something to my hair follicles it's just not visible on my skin, because I'm using that shampoo time to time, to not get that itching red spots on my scalp.

Side effects may be irreversible and include persistent erectile dysfunction, depression, suicidal tendencies, loss of libido, anxiety, and other neurological issues (ie. memory loss, altered mental status). @@danieldaniel7718 so the data on finasteride improvement is that in the 1st year 18% of patients had a noticeable improvement of hair count and quality. In the 2nd year 36% of patients taking finasteride as a monotherapy had noticeable improvement of hair count and quality. The thing I want to stress with you is patience because if you take your finasteride in the long term you can respond very well. Another thing I wish to mention is the shedding phase. You have taken finasteride for 8 months... the drug finasteride causes shedding within the first 3 to 6 months. If most of your hair sheds on the 6th month you take Finasteride then it takes 3 months for the new hairs to enter the anagen phase an grow new hairs. Another point is this. You have been using minoxidil and microneedling for only 2 months. This also causes shedding within the first 3 months of use, but the mechanism of action is different from finasteride. Minoxidil and microneedling are stimulators that thicken up damaged miniaturized hairs. In doing so it sheds away the miniaturized hairs and new hairs push the old ones out with thicker healthier hairs. The old hairs that were shed from minoxidil and microneedling will also take another 3 months before they enter anagen phase and start growing. My advice for you is to not take experimental stuff and just stick with finasterid 1mg, minoxidil, and microneedling (1.0mm to 1.5mm once a week) for another complete year and you should see very significant improvement. And if you are taking topical minoxidil you might want to switch to oral minoxidil 1mg to 2.5mg once per day. This is a far more potent stimulation therapy than topical minoxidil. I hope this helped you out.
Hey Wyt, take hormonal tests to find out how are your overall ratios. If everything is at the right ranges then finasteide could be a possibility but you also need to make sure that hair are fallingout because of dht not something else
