yes , it's your money and property , but i don't understand why people buy something and then tear it all apart and put different engines , suspensions etc in , ?? why not just go to a junk yard , get the frame and body , and then build from there ??
because the ENTIRE rest of the vehicle is still needing to be functional. all ABS, all interior wiring, dash, head unit, brakes, everything else needs to function as is. and doing a junkyard engine in this would require either a hemi or a standalone system and then youre figuring out transmissions to mate up to whatever engine you want. if youre changing the suspension, what would buying a junkyard vehicle do, other than give you more work to fix everything else that the junk yard version gave. im not building a stand alone system vehicle, all of my emissions and factory drivability, will be the same with a new engine. and ill be using the old engine on another project, so why buy a used engine in hopes that something isnt wrong, when the one I pulled, I have 100% history on and know its in working condition. your opinion isnt wrong, but if I wanted to build a buggy with a standalone computer, then yea, id go buy a salvaged one and build that. but im not building that, im building a stock platform vehicle with a upgraded components. and besides, I bought this for low 50s, brand new. when used 2020s with 45k miles are selling for 53k.
