Thank you so much! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that. I actually didn't choose the paintings myself - the people organizing the show looked at my work and selected the ones that they thought would work. It has been a really exciting journey over the past year :) I hope you get there soon!

Congratulations! This is indeed exciting and such a great accomplishment to be an exhibited artist after an year. I would love to hear or read more about how you found the gallery (or how they found you)? I paint in my studio but other than posting on instagram and fb (not regularly enough for the algorithms to be interested unfortunately), I don't know how to get my work out there. Love to hear more of your story to be inspired by.

Thank you so much! I got connected with this gallery through a local art organization (it's called MUSA Exhibition, if you're close to San Francisco and want to check it out!) They set up art events around my city and help connect artists to galleries. I'm also scoping out some galleries on instagram that seem to show work similar to mine, and plan to reach out to them for future exhibitions.

Ah, so I'm trying to figure out when you started seriously painting. Was it the summer of 2020? Personal favorite is the lovely blue portrait with the model's hair draped over part of her face. Congratulations, well-deserved!

Thank you! I started painting in high school and painted very seriously for a couple of years, learning hyper-realistic painting. However I mostly stopped during college and grad school. I then picked it up again around the summer of 2020. I often say 2020 is when I started painting "professionally," (in terms of mindset), however I already had thousands of hours of practice under my belt at that point.

Thank you! Yeah it was really exciting :) These paintings were all done in oils, although I also work in acrylic gouache ❤️

Did you go to art school? İs it possible to open an exhibition without a diploma? Do they request a diploma? I am a psychology student but ı want to be painter😊

Hi Muji! I didn’t go to art school, and no one has asked me for a diploma (so far!). I applied to “open calls” from galleries in my area, and eventually they accepted me :)
