Where do I begin!?
Last night was absolutely amazing, my first time seeing the Aurora Borealis (KP8, G4 Storm, Lakeside Park, Fond Du Lac, WI, 4/23/23)!
Throughout the day I kept getting notifications of the Aurora data getting stronger and stronger while still learning how to read and interpret the data. Along with seeing Marybeth Kiczenski getting super excited so I knew it had to be a good sign! But of course the cloud coverage was pretty strong. I drove around for a bit and couldn't see anything so I decided to go home, but I only stayed in the driveway and checked some groups on Facebook and seen someone in Green Bay saw them so I checked out the clouds and looked to be better up by Fond Du Lac (just south of GB). So that's where I decided to go. I knew if I wanted to take photos, I wanted a subject and instantly thought of the lighthouse at Lakeside Park.
As soon as I got up there, they were dancing all over the place! It was amazing watching it thru the camera. At times I could actually see the hint of green with the naked eye. It got stronger as I was there and it was directly overhead at this point! Mind blown! I will never forget this night! On the way home I stopped at my moms place to get a picture of us together as this was also her first time seeing it! How incredible was last night. 😍
