Anna, as a Japanese American, I would love for you to start learning Japanese and vlogging this experience! Once you start, you'll quickly learn that Korean and Japanese are THE EXACT SAME LANGUAGE. While Japanese is obviously more difficult to progress due to having to learn kanji, the grammar, sentence structure, idioms, etc. are all the same. Hope the rest of your trip goes well!

Do not worry, you'll learn Japanese in no time if you visit Japan many times. Because Japanese language is very similar to Korean and much easier to learn.
