there are plenty of videos out there of the carrera gt with what you're looking for. most of us like watching shmee for his reaction. i know what a carerra gt sounds like. i like seeing a normal guy's reaction to getting to drive one.

And I would add "driving" sport cars as they should... instead of crusing like an 80 yrs old !

Willy Lamb Its one of the hardest clutches and stick shifts in the world, paired with a ultra-lightweight flywheel, yes, that's going to happen. Especially after only 5min of previous experience driving the car. Give him a break.

The reason that he didn´t shift faster was to be a 100% safe.

To better rev-match the shift IS to be safer.

Something like that can be compensated for very quickly. It was just... weird... that he didn't.

As Jeff V says better be safe than sorry with a 1M+ Pound supercar. The clutch and the gears are really hard work, and getting it right is even harder. I only drove it for like 20 minutes and that is not enough time to get the shifting perfected. I am happy I did not stall it. This thing is a challenge, and having the option to drive it is already pretty unique. ;)

You can change that if you don't back your foot completely off of the throttle when you shift gears. Part of the reason people don't catch on to that quickly in hi-performance cars is because modern drive-by-wire in normal manual cars allows the computer to slow down the rev-drop for emissions purposes (the computer keeps the throttle slightly open to burn off excess fuel even when you take your foot completely off of the throttle pedal). So when you shift in a normal car, because the throttle is always partially open, you back your foot completely off the throttle so that the revs drop fast enough. Otherwise it takes too long for the revs to fall down to the next gear ratio. When you go from that into a car with an engine that is set up for speed, your habit is to still back your foot completely off the throttle, but that makes the revs fall much faster than you're used to. You solve that problem by keeping the throttle (very) partially open on up shifts, but it takes longer than the average supercar drive to learn that. Rev-matching happens on both up and down shifts.

Maybe that, and light flywheel. Revs also climb really fast.

Dont forget its not his car so a new car he jumped in and started driving so needed to get used too the clutch/acceleration etc. Heard these are a pig to drive and with what happened to Paul Walker I think Tim must have had this in his mind driving it, so gave it massive respect!! Would love to have seen a vid of the owner of the car driving it!!

You don't do that with a CGT. Their clutches already need to be replaced often and it's expensive. Doing that will wear it out even quicker.
