KLM Is My Favorite Airlines In Europe.Great Video And Info

@gunvaldsandhaland7757 I can see why. Is most of your travel in business or economy? I'd like to try their business offering next - and give long-haul a try too.

Your trip reviews are so well done. I wish your channel long term success and growth. In the past week I have flown on A320neo and 737-800. There is a noticeable difference in the width of the cabins, with the A320 providing a small amount more room at the shoulder, enough to make a noticeable difference in comfort. I flew on AA's "main cabin extra" which is their extra legroom seat on a Boeing 737-800. While the legroom allowed me to stretch my legs completely, the narrowness of the cabin made the seat feel extremely condensed and narrow. I then flew on Frontier Airlines A320neo standard economy. While the legroom was adequate, the small amount of extra width per seat was enough to make the trip more comfortable than what I experienced on AA's main cabin extra. I have never had opportunity to fly any European carriers, so I can only relate what my experience is here in the states. I think in the future I will look for A320 flights wherever possible and avoid the 737.

@davidcole333 Thanks for your kind comments, David - glad you enjoyed the video! To be honest, it's been a while since I've flown a 737, so I didn't really notice the width (might have been more of an issue if I didn't have that empty seat next to me). I mostly fly BA or Easyjet short haul from Glasgow, which are both exclusively A320 family aircraft, but I'll keep an eye out next time I'm on the 737 as I'm quite a big guy, so appreciate a bit more shoulder space when I can get it.

@ratworks865 I'm really glad it helps and thanks for the comment! It's a brilliant (and incredibly safe) way to travel - and always worth letting the cabin crew know when you board a flight if you're a nervous flyer! I've seen many over the years, and without exception (regardless of BA, Easyjet, Jet2 etc), the crew have always been excellent in trying to put the passengers mind at ease. Easyjet do a fearless flyer course throughout the year - the next Glasgow one is in October. Not cheap, but might be something worth looking at? www.fearlessflyer.easyjet.com

Love seeing those newer seats! On my most recent flight on KLM (Cityhopper, actually) back in 2022, it still had an older-looking cabin. POOOKE!!!
@GLAFly
@GLAFly 2 месяца назад
@redcomusic I had a Cityhopper flight on the way back (on an Embraer 175) which seemed to be older seats - no WiFi onboard either. Makes a big difference to have a refreshed cabin like that.

Nice video, Craig - have been subbed for a while, and saw your link on the Matts Planet chat that nudged me to watch. Agree with your view on KLM, I think that they're probably a little better than BA in some ways. Look forward to your coming videos as always :D

@CallumElsdon cheers Callum! I'm keeping an open mind, as I'm conscious I've only flown with KLM twice so far, but have flown a LOT with BA over the years (so have more to compare). Certainly they didn't put me off flying with them again, and I like that they have more legroom in their forward seats - even if you do have to pay a bit extra for them in economy.

@ianadam5015 trust me - I was as surprised as anyone when I realised it! I've even used their lounge at Glasgow decades ago (when it still existed) when it was a priority pass option - just hadn't actually flown with them! Doubt it will be my last as I really liked their 737 on that flight.

KLM are a great European airline with a fantastic network and hub at Amsterdam. Like all European legacy carriers they have cut back on their inflight service but the complimentary snack and free messaging package are definitely a bonus. In my opinion the Lomond lounge at GLA is a dire offering so I don't think you missed out on anything by skipping the lounge visit. I understand that KL934 departs GLA for AMS at 0610 and is a nightstopping aircraft, so why were you surprised to find your aircraft already on stand when you arrived at the gate?
@GLAFly
@GLAFly 2 месяца назад
Not sure why I was surprised - i'd already been checking on FR24 and know it was there - must have just been in the flow of narration 🙂. It was a great experience, and while I don't have high expectations of the Lomond Lounge (although i've not yet had a chance to try it) - it's better than no lounge, and the fact the slow security at GLA prevented me having any time it was a bit of an annoyance. First world problems and all that!

72 hours prior departure al Economy Seats, including legroom and economy comfort, are free from Gold and higher. :-)
@GLAFly
@GLAFly 2 месяца назад
@@TheMrmagenta I'm assuming that's not the case for Skyteam partners then, as the price had come down for the economy comfort seats less than 24 hours before departure in my case, but we're still being charged for - definitely not free. I did like that they dynamically price the remaining seats in business class the closer to departure - saw some of the legs come down to £75.

I'm still deciding whether to go for star alliance in 2025 whilst I use up my avios too. Matt says Aegean is the best but hardest to go for, so I need to put some effort into looking into this, but I believe KLM goes from the bestest littlest airport in the universe! 😁

@NatsGlobalTravels not sure whether *A or Skyteam are the best fit - I don't think you get lounge access with Skyteam until you hit the top tier (Elite Plus), so keep that in mind unless you'll be flying Business anyway. *A has some good options, but likewise - you only get lounge access once you hit gold with them.

@GLAFly
@GLAFly 2 месяца назад
@marcellans8713 Thanks for letting me know! It's surprising to hear that you only got the standard seats for free, rather than front or comfort - so at least I know KLM are consistent with their own FB customers in that regard. I can't really compare with BA since they don't have comfort seats, but certainly exit row(extra legroom) seats are free for those with BA/Oneworld status - and on American Airlines I get free Main Cabin Extra seating when flying economy. I wonder why Skyteam don't do the same.

4:02 Typical behaviour of KLM flight attendants... You board the aircraft and NO ONE is interested in you. This is just inacceptable!
@GLAFly
@GLAFly Месяц назад
@marten.travelling.11 to be honest, I found the crew friendly on the flight. A lot of crews are like that when you're boarding, so I tend not to notice it too much at that point - it's only if it continues in flight that it becomes an issue for me - sorry to hear that doesn't sound like your experience with KLM. Maybe I got lucky with this flight?

@@GLAFly I personally think that this is one of the most important thing while boarding the plane. The FAs should have a look to their passengers already when the board the aircraft. And the other thing is respect. The FAs should give the customers a smile to show respect. But on all of my last KLM flights (even on longhaul in Business) the FAs didn't cared about anything. They are just busy chatting with themselves. But I am always happy when someone has a pleasant KLM experiences.
