Many years ago I bought a second hand rail chassis which we put a 283 Chev in (carburettor)...My first passes were quite hairy, I remember being so excited...Good job and hope you have much fun and success...
Great job!.... keep at it, you'll get the hang of it and will only improve with each pass you make. PS: "Back in the day" (I started racing in 1971 with JR. Fueler) the term "dragster" or "Rail"..... only applied to chassis, like you faced off with.... that left you on your last pass. Car's like your's.... were always referred to as "Altered's"..... prceeded by the class type.. ie: "D" Altered, "E" Altered, "A" Altered, Double "B" Altered (Blown Alchy), AA/Altered (Fuel Altered - Nitro), etc, etc. Anyway.... Enjoy it and Have fun!!.... it's a "rush".
Looked good. One problem I saw was the burnout. You didn't do enough of a burnout and when you left the starting line your tires were still wet. Good times brother. There's nothing like it
Thanks man I appreciate the feedback I’ve had a few people say the same and next time I go out and next vid I’ll rip a good burnout and get them nice an dry 🤙🏻 thanks for watching
It’s not an air cleaner 🤦♂️ it’s litterally a little cage just to keep rocks from going down the carb on the shut down on a maybe 500hp small block it’ll never make a difference
Your definitely a novice but I've seen beginners not do as well as you did !!!! I did it 20 or so years and.it.jist takes time and experience !!! 1st things 1st get all the tuning right 1st !!! Motor suspension tire pressures is all critical along with learning to driver it !!!! What we're your ETs and mph if I may ask ??? The hardest part to learn is cutting a good light on the tree !!! You do need to do a better burn out !! High gear ONLY and DON'T be afraid to hit that throttle hard and stay into it til it hooks !!! You can also invest in a 35$ lineloc some altered guys do use them !! Just a little easier to do a good Smokey tire heating burn out !!! A big burn out is not really required on these light cars just descent tire heat to make them sticky !!!! It's pretty good piece should fly when you get the swing of it !!!
That was my first time at a drag strip ever lol the other video on here of me racing it it did way better the best ET was 6.54 at 103 and the best mph was 106 and I cannot but line lock the this car due to the fact that it has no front brakes and putting front brakes on it would be too much of a hassle for what it’s worth I did a lot better the second time I took it out the video is live you you’d like to go watch it the audio is trash but it’s a decent vid
@@mcsgarage4898 I did not realize you were only running 1/8 mile !! My bad !!! I thought it looked short !! Can you give me any details on motor size how much is done to it what tranny rear end and gearing possible weight ??? I love details plus I watch a lot of "pass time" the RU-vid drag race show that was on the speed channel !!! Your right I should have thought altered usually no front brakes !! Nice light car !! Needs an air scoop lol !! Make it blue !! A lot of fun potential !!! Any butterflies in the stomach at the starting line ??? Any 1/4 mile tracks where you are ??? I would love to stay informed on the progress of your new racing ventures !!!
@@circletrack7538 it’s a just a solid built 355 with a power glide the car weighs 1800 pounds there are 1/4 mile tracks around my car is not geared for 1/4 tho amd if I change the gear it probably will not have the power to run a good number
@@mcsgarage4898 I'm sure there is a lot left in that car yet for ET and MPH !!! I did forget to ask you about a key part ! What do you know about the stall converter ??? Size stall speed what company ??? I want to see you eventually run 9.0s in the 1/4 @ 150 MPH !!!!! Wo
@@circletrack7538 5000 stall converter it will be a while yet before it goes that fast the biggest thing I gotta do yet is get the 60 foot down but the track I was running at was no prep I will be going to a track this coming Sunday that is prepped so we will see what it can do this weekend on a prepped track
