On May 7th, 2023, I joined my friend Jason from Coasters 'N Things, as well as a fellow coaster enthusiast Tyler, to check out Lake Winnie for my (and Tyler's) first time! This is one of your classic American hyper-local family-owned parks in Rosseville, GA, just outside Chattanooga, TN, and certainly one of the better ones I've been to. It's always a blast to hang out with fellow enthusiasts, and I certainly loved this hidden gem of a park more than I expected! This weekend also happened to be opening weekend for the park for the 2023 season, so that was a cool bonus!
During our day, we had plenty of time to marathon Cannon Ball, the park's awesome 1967 PTC wooden coaster. In between, we rode most of the park's collection of fair style flat rides, the park's surprisingly decent train ride, and very scenic skyride. We also checked out the park's interesting history, from memorabilia in the back of the gift shop, to exploring the areas around abandoned attractions, to experiencing the Boat Chute, the world's first flume water ride dating back to 1925!
As always, thank you for watching Coasting The Planet! Please consider subscribing if you want to see more roller coaster/amusement park and travel related content in the near future, including vlogs, reviews, news, and more!

Back in the day, the Wacky Factory used to be called "the castle". It actually went up another level and at the end you got a fast ride down and if I remember correctly, it looked like we were going to get wet, but the water turned of at the last second. (I live in Chattanooga and that was my hangout. I even was around when the original MadMouse was here)

Growing up in Chattanooga we spent summers there! Best way to ride the cannonball wooden coaster….BLINDFOLDED! So much fun! Lake Winnie is great for the July 4th fireworks

Nice! I really enjoy small local parks like Lake Winnie, they have a sense of intimacy and connection with the local population that you just don’t get at a larger chain park

I do apologize if you all experience any weird audio during the video; like many parks, Lake Winnie plays generic pop music very loud throughout the park, often loud enough to trigger RU-vid's copyright protection system. Because of this, in order to avoid viewership restrictions, these sections of the video have to have their audio distorted to remove the music. So again, if you hear weird audio during the video, I do apologize! I certainly feel this is one of the unfair consequences of RU-vid's copyright system, but I certainly still understand why the system exists. This also tends to be more of a problem at small parks like Lake Winnie, as these parks tend to play copyrighted music more often and more loudly than many other parks (for whatever reason)

Ah Lake Winnie. What an interesting, almost fever dream of a place. Kinda sad to see it’s continued lack of investment and state of disrepair, but it does have a charm all its own.

Yup. Of the two parks of this style I’ve visited, I certainly prefer Beech Bend’s ride selection, but Lake Winnie had a much better atmosphere and charm I felt

I was there 2 days ago. I rode the circle ride. It turns completely upside down and goes all the way around. I nearly passed out.
