My experience of working there was that it was extremely expensive for accommodation and for groceries. They need a decent bus service and clothes shops. Shame because I would have stayed longer if it had been more affordable. Medical expenses are also ridiculous there.
hey man love your content. u mentioned busy season are u working in big 4? because I do work in a big4 in INDIA for U.S. TAX compliance. love cayman islands want to move there for work what are my options.
I remember the time when local partners decided to screw up international hires even more than before and move from 24 to 18 months contracts - to make people work two busy seasons and only one down time. More cost efficient!
Generallly how it is to live there!? I am 24 years old and thinking of moving there. Is there's any entertainment and like fast foods? Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks!
Hi, life is good in Cayman - very slow paced and relaxed. We have normal things like movies and fast food yes. There are many bars and restaurants - they are expensive because this is a tourist place - but there are very nice ones.
Thank you for feedback. Yeah been searching about the life there and said it's quite expensive. Hope to land a job there as this place seems very stress from today's stressful society.
+Clifford Ngobeni Haha, don't be worried. As with any job think about if you actually like it and want to do it or not. But personally I love living here.
Thank you for sharing this video! 😀 everything looks great, I want to ask how hard is getting a job in the finance area? I am currently a Finance Student and am Honduran, I would love to move one day to Cayman Islands and since you know about this, I want to listen any tip!
It's not easy, especially if you don't have experience. I would suggest applying for jobs before you come here as it can be expensive to live without a salary. Send your CV to the recruitment firms and follow up regularly. CaymanNewResident.com is a great resource and has some links to recruitment places and companies in Cayman.
+SrizzilExtrathat Kind to answer! 😳 thank you very much for the information, I have been reading about the country and the jobs out there, right now Im just a student but I was asking since you are working in that area and I would love to travel and work in a place like that! I will definitely gain experience before sending my CV! thank you for the advise, you seem like a really sweet and hardworking person! Its a dream living alone and traveling, just by sharing I feel inspired by you!
How's the domestication been going? ;) I feel like I'd live at the beach during all my free time. Lakes just aren't as nice as the ocean! I'm also wondering how old you are :P
+Kristin Claxton Besides burning some of my clothes whilst attempting to iron, it's been all good haha. We 100% spend all our free time outdoors, mostly at the beach, and I am 25.
thank you for sharing the video . i done MBA Finance and 4 years of practical of accounts and finance job experience and cayman is my dream so tell me about their job situation ... and my second question : i am from pakistan so here is no cayman embassy so i first come to cuba and from cuba i will go to cayman also you guide me about this ...
Your best bet is to chat to a recruiter on island, they will be able to assist you with all those details. This website is also super helpful: www.caymannewresident.com/
Hey Man...You are really Lucy..I just visited the Cayman Islands in March for 8 hours in a Cruise Ship...Regarding the Cayman new resident site...Which recruitment companies did you use to move there??? I speak 4 languages and I have some compliance experience
I applied directly to a company I wanted to work for who was recruiting from my country, but I have worked with a few of the recruitment agencies. I've had the best luck with a company called CML.
Hi Srizzil, am also completing my articles in SA, but with a small firm,I definetely would like to come to the Cayman Islands but do not have financial Services experience, would this be a possibility for me?
Hi Taits, it's definitely possible. Most of the people that come here don't have financial services experience. I'd recommend applying early to have the best chance of getting in.
Woooow, thank you Srizzil, and what of the fact that i am from a small audit firm, would that put me in any disadvantage?I am gaining all types off experience, accounting , tax audit secretarial...And how soon is soon, am now in my second year of articles
You're welcome. You may be at a slight disadvantage applying to a bigger firm from a smaller firm, but you can always make up for that by doing a good interview and having good references. Most firms require you to be a CA when you get here, or at least be eligible to register, so the earliest you can apply will be after passing board 2. I applied the week after. There are more than just the big firms here, so don't be shy to apply to some smaller firms too if you want to keep your options open. However I've seen many people from smaller firms working at one of the big four here.
11 yr days with free dinners is not winning at life mate. Been there done that, and that's just BS. Great short term experience but you'll feel it 6 months on. Totally different feel to it than visiting for holidays.
+Some Living soul If you watch my later videos you'll see how that changed very quickly, and after six months I actually left audit. So yeah you're spot on, free food is great but selling your soul for it gets old fast.
