Chris sounds like a great mentor, but it's not just him...lots of us love seeing new people that have had a life long dream of flying attain the goal. I had the same exact experience you've shared 36 years ago in a Cessna. I just wish I'd have gotten into PPG as soon as they were invented. Fly safe and Congrats!!!!!
