Hi guys welcome back to my channel! Join me as I play my first God of War game! I'll be diving into the world of Kratos and Atreus and I'm so excited for this adventure. If you're a fan of the God of War series, you won't want to miss this gameplay from someone who is new to the world of God of War.
I’ll be playing through God of War (2018) and uploading 3x a week (Sunday, Tuesday, Thurday) until we finish the series! I definitely want to get to God of War: Ragnarok in the future as well on this channel.
I have seen VERY little gameplay or lore about this series so this is a brand new experience for me. I hope you enjoy! If you guys want me to do a reaction video to the lore of God of War up until this point please let me know.

This game is a direct sequel + reboot of the original hack & slash trilogy that continued from 2005-2010. Although the story delves much deeper into the past later in this game, it still works well as a standalone. But if you really wanna know all the lore and Kratos's past and understand why he reacts to some things in this game the way he does, I highly recommend the original games!

I love that this game you either see it from Atreus his perspective or Kratos. Newcomers explore the world together with Atreus. Veterans see it from Kratos' eyes.

Just a little tip, look around more, as you don't need to worry about Atreus wandering off, it was just you missed a lot of resources at the start, as these help with upgrading armour/weapons and stats...etc. It is understandable with it being your 1st GOW game, and you are in for a wild ride with this amazing game, then Ragnarok next..........🙂

This game got to me a lot. Kratos' tough love on Atreus was exactly how my dad was. Cared very much about us but that tough love was all I got for most of my life, being the oldest son and all.

Hey there! Welcome to GOW! tip - use your shield more often. Not to just block fire attacks, but to parry melee attacks. Great video!

I notice a lot of people saying for you to start with the previous games. And I see what theyre saying cause Kratos made a big leap of change between games (he was alot rougher and revenge-ridden and wreckless in the previous games). But that's up to you and you should do what you want. Many people start with this one. If you're ever confused, we should help rather.

Midgard = Mid guard Alfheim = All fime Helheim = Hell hime Jotunheim = Yo ton hime Muspelheim = Moo spell hime Niflheim = Knee fell hime Svartalfheim = Svar tall fime Asgard = As guard Vanaheim = Van a heim ð and þ = 'th' sound j = 'y' sound ǫ = 'aw' sound æ = 'ah' sound

I love God War games. Part 3 is my favorite. You made a great decision playing this. There's hidden stuff everywhere and aggressive bare fist fighting can take down the toughest enemies. Awesome episode "Krissy✨️👏

If story is important to you. You have to check the cutscenes of the originals. Recaps do not work because they skim through important scenes. This game will deal with the previous games. But if u dont care about the story then nevermind lol. Just trying to help because lots of people say u dont have to play the game but in up being lost in the story.

God of War was one of the first games I ever played, back on the PS2. As someone who played basically every installment since then, I highly recommend familiarizing yourself. There's a lot of things in these new games, big and small, that you won't be able to properly appreciate if you don't know the rich backstory set up by the previous installments.

It is very important that you play the OG trilogy first to understand Kratos and where he comes from. This is God of war 4. It’s just called “God of war” because it’s a recreation of the combat and mechanic style. That or watch some videos. It will become clear in the future but you will be confused by certain things later on and this is why it’s so important to understand who Kratos is first before playing this game.

The good thing here is when you are completely knows nothing about god of war series or kratos story and you play this god of war for the first time,, i mean yeah that’s a nice feeling of experience playing this game and before or after you finish this game you are going to search the story of kratos from the start,,, sorry for my english any way i think you understand me

All in all a very nice start. Don't worry about dying every now and then. I have seen people do way worse at the beginning and they still finished the game. Just need to get used to it. Just one thing: At the end in the dwarven shop. You didn't upgrade your chest armor. You crafted 2 new ones. Need to pay attention, you were in the crafting section, not the upgrade section. Shit happens. Resources wasted for now but you will get plenty enough to make up for it later. PS: I skimmed through some comments. Some people sound more rude than they mean to. Your video didn't look "bad". Just slightly dark. Sound settings were fine though, no complaints there. Pretty confident that you'll get it. Have fun and see you in the next one.

been a while since I was this early on a playthrough and it happens to be my favorite game, I like the video length and your reactions definitely gonna stay tuned in. a tip for exploring is Atreus will be by where you need to go to complete the story and there will almost always be another area with loot (you are also really beautiful)

If this is your first God of war you'll love it! But it wont have full effect if you didn't play all the others. This game is a masterpiece from the very first one to the latest. I hope you'll make a playtrough of the others as well. I'd love to see your reaction of the old Kratos.

I was hesitant about this game, after being such a fan of the previous God Of War games when he was in Greece (I won't give away any spoilers 😊); now it's one of my all-time favorites. Of course, being a mythology geek (Greek AND Norse) since I was a kid helped. :) Hope you enjoy the journey- there is a LOT to see, and do.

Please read about nordic mythology and Gods headed by the Allfather- Odin about who mentioned "Stranger". You will know more about Gods, and other persons who appear in this game. In this game you have a battle between Gods, not humans.

just coz u playing god of war im subing, please dont throw the Axe the whole game😭😭😭😭its more fun when u do close combat....by the way dont use HP crystals when u have full HP, also if you see a lot of HP crystals in an area just know you are about to fight a lot of enemies or a strong enemy...Enjoy Hey! Amazing video. I do like that you adapt fast and actually know how to play. And also there are secrets that might help you for the beginning Like the secret on the musphelhime tower (I might be wrong about witch tower it is) but it's on RU-vid and the mystery gives you an axe Handel. If you want you can check it out But anyways Keep up the good work you are doing amazing 👍 P.s. try to be more relaxed i feel like the camera is pointing a gun at you juts imagine that you are playing the game and showing it to a friend

Don’t just watch to cutscenes form the original trilogy. Actually play the games (they are old but awesome). The new games stand on their own. IMO just watching cutscenes is a disservice to the people who made the games.
