I am considering studying gyrotonics thank for this inside look from a beginner's perspective it was very helpful. Everyone seems lovely and in love with this brilliant method!
Hi Chun, I stumbled over your video by chance, and this is the 5th or 6th video of yours that I have watched. As a chinese descent, also an ex-dancer, I am really proud of you. Thanks for sharing and all the best with your career.
Thank you very much for sharing this video. The exercises are very interesting. Lots of functional movements as oppose to isolation exercises. Definitely, these exercises will target the smaller muscle groups besides the major muscle groups that traditional exercises work on. One exercise in the video shows this principle. The bicycle leg movement with both arms raised. In this position, the rectus abdominis and erector spinae are in total extension, core cannot be activated. Smaller muscles, like ilieosopas, have to kick in to stabilize the body while the vastus laterias, vastus medialis, biceps femoris, semimembranosus, etc. are doing all the concentic and eccentric movements. Very interesting! Definitely functional and open chained exercises. Movement combines all three planes, similar to exercises done in a physical therapeutic setting with the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation principle . Thanks for sharing!!!
