Oh, my. Beautiful. I did not know you rode horses! How French women approach "sport" and activity as part of lifestyle would be a fascinating video (series, even). As a side interest -- it is strange to think of 1993 as vintage. :-)

When a product has been designated to have only so many pieces produced, it is called "vintage". Scarves, especially, will be more in demand than any other pieces.

I live in Reno, Nevada and we have several groups of wild mustangs. They are gorgeous! I took a photo of nine on a small patch of grass in a client's neighborhood. I LOVE seeing them roam around.

I love Hermes scarves and have four - two if them plissé (pleated). I believe Hermes, sadly, no longer makes pleated scarves. I always get compliments when I wear an Hermes. The quality is superb: the colours rich, the drape luxurious and the finish exquisite. A simple sweater or dress is really elevated with an Hermes scarf. Enjoy yours, Marie-Anne!

J'Adore! I just purchased another Hermes (I can't figure out how to do the accent marks on my laptop...they just come up on IG) scarf from @TheRealReal is another authenticated consignment site similar to the @vestiairecollective. I have shopped at both sites. There is nothing quite like an Hermes scarf. They are generously sized and make of the finest silk. The workmanship and details are exquisite. They are the only TRUE luxury firm left IMO. I LOVE these scarves and I am absolutely delighted you have introduced them here. I like styling mine with jewelry. I have the Kachina scarf and style it with my Navajo/Zuni jewelry. I picked up a large silver and turquoise ring to use as a scarf ring and also paired it with my vintage Navajo Squash Blossom necklace. I spied a dash of green turquoise color in your scarf. I think your scarf would also go lovely with that color as well. I DID NOT KNOW the artist's name is printed on the scarf and as soon as I am done typing this comment, I am going up to check the names. The PLISSE is no longer made by Hermes and can only be found on consignment shops like the ones named above. It is also incredible....it is as if it is alive ...it just bounced into a knot or style. That is one you should put on your Wish List. I FINALLY picked one up. Love Hermes....I know have 6 scarves in different color ways! GREAT VIDEO and THANK YOU FOR THE HISTORY. I knew about the saddles and luggage, but did not know when Hermes started their scarves. I only wear Hermes perfume as well. I cannot afford the handbags....not even second or third hand! Gorgeous, though!

Oh Marie-Anne, it's very beautiful! Mine is more thin chiffon, so it's very thin and transparent, and it looks always wrinkled up :( I love the colour (orange) and style witch is like art deco style. I think it's called La Mexique but it's nothing like you lovely scarf. :)

I was thinking about my collection of Hermes scarves last night et Voila! this video appeared in my suggestions this morning. I went to the Hermes website to look a the scares and saw that there is now a "Le Mustangs II" double-face scarf available. It's fantastic. You would probably love it!

Yes yes your scarf is so nice! It is a conversation starter going to a cafe I would share horse stories. My family could barely afford it but I wanted a horse so bad and finally took care of a paint pony no one else could ride. I loved that pony and felt very western…a cowgirl. During the lockdown, friend and I were out and ran into some real cowboys. They were very tanned, spoke little and had a quiet patient energy. So observant like wild animals themselves! Hard to explain! Oh my goodness all these memories from a scarf. How wonderful you show fashion as a preservation of culture!!

I love it so much. Probably too much to wear it as a scarf. I'd more likely hang it on my wall and consider it an art piece. But that's just me. Of COURSE it looks great as you styled it. You nailed it, Marie-Anne. You always do. I have a scarf from at least 30 years ago (nothing special) that I wear again and again because the colors are right for me. I bought it a thrift shop for $1. It's not Hermes, but I would love to own and wear one. I think people don't realize how much an impact a lovely scarf can bring to an outfit.

I aspire to own a true Hermes scarf. But my budget means I must look for a previous loved vintage Hermes scarf ♥. Your video today helped me to look for the indications that I'm getting a true Hermes. It was helpful for me to know that the edges are rolled inward. Am I correct that all Hermes are made of silk twill? And is the name of the artist and the Hermes name woven in every scarf? Are there other signs I should look for so that I get the true Hermes I yearn for. My search continues for that perfect Hermes scarf.

Amazing scarf! I have a few "picture" scarves and find they tie beautifully as neckscarves, but look a bit "contrived" as headscarves. The more abstract ones are better for this (I have a gorgeous Hermes Etrieres scored from eBay!). I love your scarf tutorials Marie-Anne, you've done neckscarves so maybe you can do a Frenchwoman's take on the headscarf? Jx

I was fortunate to have been gifted two Hermes scarves. A cashmere & silk, and a silk twill. However I found their resale value to be their most attractive feature, and they were ‘re-homed’ via eBay. Personally, I would never pay that amount for a scarf, even Hermes.

You still lose money. If new they're 470 and a great, pristine used runs about 350 or so. That's from a good dealer, like TheRealReal, who I'm told knows their stuff. But if you like it, it doesn't matter

What do I think? I think we have a ‘prospect’ for adopting one of the several thousand wild mustangs the United States is hoping will find permanent, caring, lifetime homes with good families from...yes, even from Normandy! I am American and that scarf is beautiful. The wild Mustangs still run. Mowdy Ranch of Colgate Oklahoma is a wildlife preserve of 4,000 acres just for the Mustang's. You can visit the reserve. They have tours.

I was excited when my Mom gave me my first Hermes scarf. A navy one with keys. They are so special and substantial. Love the cowboys on yours. So French. Only Jerry Lewis is missing. LOL> I now have a black and taupe one and a bright pink one., too. My hope is to purchase a vintage bright red in the future. My key colors are grey and navy. Red should be a great accent. They are very dear to me. A great quality purchase. I find they are easier to drape than some other scarves.

Marie-Anne, this was an exceptional video for me because I am literally obsessed with scarves. I have an obscene number of them and I keep buying when I see one that speaks to my heart or -as Marie Kondo says- that "sparks joy" :)))) I love how you styled this exquisite scarf by Hermes. I also enjoyed very much all the stories about this brand that I adore, my favorite perfume is Eau de Merveille. Marie-Anne, I love your beautiful Hermes scarf. My husband and I are retired ranchers. My Hermes is titled Pampa, the artist is J de Fougerolle. It depicts the cowboys of Brazil and is the most beautiful wearable art. Purchased in 1988 on a trip to San Francisco it carries wonderful memories as well. Thanks, Linda

When I was a young boy my older brother had cowboy shirts, scarfs etc with this exact (almost) print on it. So many boy children wore this pattern back then. Maybe it was a coincidence because mustang horses and cowboys were a big thing back then in America? I'm gay and have always loved solids. Cutest channel!

Thank you for the lesson. Beautiful and fun scarf. I like all the looks but prefer the scarf with the beige sweater. I have a very old Hermes scarf, "Washington's Carriage". It has carriage wheels in each corner. Mine is navy and orange. It belonged to an older relative and that makes it a treasure to me.

Hi Marie Anne Lecoeur, I'm going to save $ and buy a collection of beautiful scarves. My mom always wore them, and I'm sad that I didn't save them! But I'm so happy I found your videos! And books, and ecourses! I want to look like my mom. She was tall, and slender, and dressed in classics, and of course, she was active, and ate like a French woman! Except for college, I have always had a weight problem. I love what you say about food, because it's exactly what my mom said. I had 3 brothers, and I just always rebelled from my mother's influence on dress, and style, but I'm ready to put all that behind me, and start being nice to myself. I am a pear shape right now, and I have a problem with my foot where I can only wear flats. I may not be able to do much about my feet, but my weight, yes! I'm tall like my mom, and I can't wait to lose weight, and get my hair cut short, and wear classic clothes, and scarves in winter. (I live in Phoenix, Arizona. 🙂)

Hi Marie-Anne, this is an old video and I just got it. I was very young when I started dreaming of having an original Hermes. They are all exquisite but I like your vintage Carre because its darker beige and goes well with every color. Lately I find only very bright colors mostly blue, red and orange. I love this scarf , what can I say, dogs and horses and I am there. I had a quarter horse when i was a teenager, but my family owned a pair of Belgian draft horses and Andy was my favourite. Even as a little girl, he would let me play on his back, and brush and braid his mane. Someday I will have my "first" Hermès scarf and, no doubt, it will have an equestrian theme. Love the video and you demonstration of different ways to tie the scarf beautifully.

Beautiful! I have 3 Hermés scarves now. Can't wait to try one with a nice sweater like you showed! My scarf designs are Jardin a Sintra, Della Cavalleria Favalosa (in somewhat of a similar colour story to yours) and L'Ombre des Pivoines. Didn't ever expect to get more than one, but there you go 😁! One of my favourite ways to wear them is with a drapey cotton or linen shirt and do a cowboy style tie!

I love the scarf as I love horses myself and used to have them in the 70's. Now I must have a Hermes scarf after hearing all the history.

Love love love that scarf. Hermes, mustang horses and at least for me images of Texas where I was born, you can’t get better than that. I love anything with a cowboy motif. I have my first Hermes scarf but havnt worn it yet it has red Indiana on it and horses shades of cobalt blue among others I am afraid of damaging it. But will wear it with jeans and white shirt I think and blazer

Sallie C, I am all about all things horses because I own horses, but I ride English, not Western. So the Western theme does not appeal to me anyway. But Hermes and Western discipline just don’t go together in my mind.

A friend of mine worked for Hermès in Lyon. He printed the scarves. I love scarves and used to wear them a lot when I lived in Germany. Congratulations on your 1st Hermès scarf!
