Wow! What a beautiful city.. That airport is way better than many European ones I have been to in the past.. lots of love to India from the Philippines🇵🇭
It's very cool how Chris effortlessly switches between Hindi and Urdu greetings based on who he's speaking with, he even nails the little touches like bhai->bhaijaan. Even most native speakers don't bother to do this!
Sometimes the driver is like "wtf he speaking?" I doubt him being used to words like musafir (passenger), safar (journey), nizaam (system), aksar (often), masla (probelm), khidmat (service), munasib (reasonable) despite being a muslim. Looks like Pak visit had a strong impact on Chris!
All mudlims dont understand urdu tho. Its only limited north indians and maybe hyderabad in south. Majority of muslims in India r from Bihar, Assam, Bengal, Kerala and they dont speak urdu also a maharashtran muslim wont know many urdu words.
In case you guys are still in Mumbai, you should visit Thane, on the outskirts of Mumbai. It is a beautiful city surrounded by nature and has a good variety of unique food to try. Highly recommend visiting for a day. If you are keen to visit, I would be more than happy to show you around / recommend places worth visiting.
Chris. I saw the title of the video. I was like “oh boy here goes another American guy bad mouthing the city I was born in” because I was just in such a negative state of mind. This video has nothing but positivity emerging from you man! Conversing with the Uber driver in Hindi and everything. Dude. Amazing! Thank You for changing my outlook. It’s morning here at work and I am starting my job for today and I don’t ever think I will be a negative Nathan today! Thank You brother! I hope you enjoy your exploration of the city of dreams.
A lot of people won't understand Urdu words even if they are Muslim or not in India, but either way Hindi language in Mumbai is mixture of Marathi, Hindi and few Urdu words here and there. But if you speak in proper Urdu, people have hard time understanding the big words. Like rather than darakht (trees) we call it पेड़ (pronounced as "paid") in Hindi. Greenery is हरियाली(Hariyaali). Musafir is प्रवासी (pravaasi) but since a lot of English words are Incorporated in Indian languages, it's okay here to say, मैं एक ट्रेवलर/टूरिस्ट हूँ (mai ek traveller/tourist hu). Apart from that, I'm pretty sure you'd already catch up with more proper Hindi words when you're in North.
Have been watching all of your Delhi videos and really loved them. Was awaiting for your Mumbai videos but got few of your cameos in Max's Mumbai Videos. And finally we are here with Chris's own Mumbai Videos. 😄
@@GassedCider The American guy he travels with sometimes has a channel called Daily Max and it popped into my feed recently and I could tell there was a connection with Chris when I saw the stillshot.

Do visit Alibaug not very far from Mumbai. Lots to see and do there. Ancient forts, clean beaches, water sports, etc. You can take ferry from Gateway of India to get there. Good luck! 🙂👍
Thank you for making these videos Chris! I was born in Delhi and moved to Canada when I was 5. I've visited a few times but i always get stuck with my relatives haha. I'm going to be going back at some point in the near future and I want to see the entire country. I've never been to Mumbai so it was very cool to see this side of India too. I'm super jealous of your Hindi btw; much better than mine. I'll have to take your strategy of watching Bollywood films to brush up. If I mess up too much when I'm there I'll probably feel slightly embarrassed knowing that you're out in India somewhere speaking better Hindi than me haha. Some weird motivation but i'll take it. I've noticed in some of your videos how you end up dumbing down your English so that others can understand you and I was curious whether you then struggle to speak proper English when you need to? I taught English as a foreign language in South Korea for a year and I remember encountering this problem after returning. Anyways, I've been bingeing your videos after finding your channel recently and love the extremely positive content you put out. I hope you continue enjoying yourself and continue sharing these beautiful moments with us. Have a great trip bhai!
Lots of love from USA Washington DC . I am your fan . You and max are good youtuber . Good content . I mean give us good lesson . Where ever you go Becareful Takecare .
Chris stay safe in Mumbai, I was there once and got so ill and sick after eating street food, I had to go hosp and get drip, vomiting and diarrohea for days
Plz be smart and avoid eating street food in foreign countries. India has so many restaurants and good places for dining. Street food is avoided by many Indians as well. It’s not “stay safe.” It’s “have some common sense”
Mumbai always had a system where taxi drivers were controlled enough to not fleece passengers. The UBER guys were ensuring the same thing that their drivers follow the rules so the reputation of the company is preserved.
Hi this is Kanya from Canada. Me with my family are coming to Delhi, India in March 2023. Let me know if we can catch up. I am a big fan of your RU-vid channel.
Yup mumbai has totally different vibe than delhi. With 9 million lesser population it is still a city with high economic output than delhi and is pretty expensive. Q
Wait 9 million lesser 😂?? Mumbai is the most populated city of India with 27 million+ population, whereas Delhi has 20 million people (Delhi NCR has 30 million). Higher economic output is because of higher population. If you're taking population of Entire metropolitan region, then take GDP of entire Delhi NCR , and Delhi NCR has higher GDP than Mumbai MMR
@@prateeks553 Shaant ho jaao bete naahi me mumbai se hoon na delhi se. Naa hi me maharashtrian hoon naa meri matr bhasha hindi ya koi bhi north indian language hai. Me ek south indian hoon and fact check kare bina comment nahi daala hai maine.
@@prateeks553 NCR population is around 46 million so this claim is ruled out. Delhi currently operates with old and new delhi with satellite places like gurgaon, noida etc which is collectively called as delhi urban region which has 33 million population. Mumbai with its 9 satellite towns has collective population of 24-25 million which is mumbai urban region. Mumbai economic output is ~340 billion and delhi output is ~280 billion as of last financial year 2021-22.
@@prateeks553 and its evident from the fact that mumbai has highest number of billionaires, its the costliest city in India for a reason. The hotel room that costs 3k in delhi costs you around 5k in mumbai. I dont have any hate for delhi dont worry much. It is what it is. Not everyone can afford mumbai. Even I cannot. But delhi is moving faster fir sure.
@@gotislayer Where are you getting these facts from ?? 🤣🤣 From What's app University??? 46 million 🤣 By your logic Delhi Metropolitan area is even bigger than Japan. Delhi Metropolitan region (NCR) has a population of 30 million But Delhi alone has a population of 20 million (7-8 MILLION lesser than Mumbai) And GDP of Entire Mumbai metropolitan region is $310 billion whereas Delhi alone has $293.8 billion (a small difference despite having such huge population difference).
Hey Mumbai, one of the most cosmopolitan city in the world, surely India. People from all over the countryy, with different languages, religion, culture weaving the beautiful city that it is.
Hey Chris, Welcome to my City Mumbai, City Of Dreams, Mumbai has its own charm, yes compared to DELHI Mumbai is behind in terms of infrastructure, actually there is no comparison considering vast land mass available in Del and limited land mass in Mumbai being an island city, But yes Mumbai definitely beats Delhi in safety, enjoy ur stay in Mumbai, wud be happy to take u places for weekend.
Hi Chris love your vlogs u should visit Gujarat it's so close from Mumbai Surat is the nearest city from there it's only 4 hours on the train then visit Ahmedabad too and if u want to visit a beach area then also go to daman
Hey Chris I Saw you in Max MacFarlane videos today I subscribed u coz of your way to exploring is awesome bro loved to watch every second of video love u bro from india 🇮🇳 N I never felt that I'm watching any foreigners vlog hahaha pur desi Andaz
Chris I have seen some of your videos with emphasis on food. I am not sure if you have any plans to visit Punjab, especially Amritsar. Punjabi food is the mother of all good tasting food you have tried in Delhi, Pakistan etc. If you can learn Punjabi language before visiting Punjab, that would be an icing on the cake. Let me know your thoughts.
Mumbai is clean ? This is news to me because I didnt find it very clean during my last trip some years ago. Maybe things have changed recently or only the stretch from airport to the city seemed to have been well developed ?
Mumbai.. aka.. Maya-Nagri (maayaanagri).. city of illusions.. it has an amazing chill, funky vibe.. delighted to see your vlogs and excited for upcoming content
That's the difference between delhi and mumbai. It is comparatively less polluted and less messy. Nothing against north Indian people but they are sort of chaotic. They are brave too but yes they lack humanity to a certain extent. I've seen people in delhi fighting over small issues. That happens in Mumbai also but at lower rates. You ask any person living in mumbai anything, most of the times you will get a positive response and won't get a feeling of being ignored, you won't feel discomfort.
Damn , salute to your Hindi man .... Not just that but you are so good with people ... Amazing that I found your channel, I wish I could speak like that in European countries( at least one language😅) ...
Welcome to Mumbai.. some recommendations on eateries: 1) lunch at A.Rama Nayak's Udipi Shri Krishna Boarding 2) thali at Shree Thaker Bhojanalay 3) 'chaat' items at punjab sweet house 4) Kitchen Garden By Suzette at BKC 5) samosa at Guru Kripa sion 6) various sweets at gangour sweets 7) kachori at tewaris 8) aram vada pav 9) mumbai veg toast grilled sandwich 10) North thali at Bhagat tarachand
Chris come in Uttar pardesh you will get many contants and you enjoys many dishes and if you come in gorakhpur I will help you I know every place in gorakhour
Big fan Chris either going in big city like delhi,Mumbai, etc. You should go to village and small cities where you get much respect and hospitality as well as everybody cares u and u doesn't have need to spend to much money here
Haven’t been to India , but I’ve always thought of Mumbai as the LA of India, not NewYork. With having Bollywood and it being on the west side. Kolkata in turn would be the New York if you were to compare.😊
Chii, not kolkata... Kolkata have worst infrastructure among tire 1 cities of India...One more city in India names Hyderabad growing as a skyscraper city...but still not like newyork, Mumbai has more skyscrapers than any city in USA except Newyork.
