Free play offers a huge range of creative possibilities, while campaign mode re-writes transport history across three continents. Transport Fever 2 offers a choice of over 200 vehicles from Europe, America and Asia, modelled in extreme detail; and with the in-game map editor, you can re-create landscapes from three different climate zones. Finally, the realistic transport and economy simulator, along with comprehensive modding support, round off the gameplay experience.

Really loving the desert/arid map. Love the ridiculously long cargo train. Always love it when you do a TPF2 series.

Train makes perfect sense for delivering tools to Kansas City. The main tether line was a massive failure was it was sat waiting for planks for 10 minutes. It would have been full of logs within 2 minutes. However trucks would have been best overall for the production of the tools, just not the delivery

Yeah just wanted to second this. The trucks are great for the production but train for delivery. Also if you plan on doing short production train lines you will want to look at the upkeep of the engine as well, small diesel shunters are perfect for this. Tractive effort is more important than top speed on cargo

I can't tell you the huge ass smile seeing this in my sub feed just put on my face! This series has become my hyper-fixation the past few days & part of me wants to go back & even rewatch some of the old Transport Fever 2 series I've already seen too! 😅🥰

Regarding the passenger trains, you only have a lot of people going to one place. Put in a train that is a direct line to that city.

Replacing the bad road condition vehicles can save you a lot in maintenance costs

you need to make the passenger trains into different lines going from say kansas city direct to salem. and gauge it by passenger demand at each city to go to a certain city

Just try to split your passenger line because its too long, and make san fransisco hub of your passenger train so from kansas city to garland and san fransisco they have to switch train if they want to go to salem

This as well. I have found three stop lines to be the sweet spot and then you can create hub cities which are on multiple lines and encourage line switching

6:24 i said this in thing in the first episode(?) that another channel did this to lower the station down so that the emissions from the trains won't affect High Point and it gives you an option to run a road over the top as well

You totally should have added passenger trains to the cargo train station in Salem so passengers could just connect into the bus station across the road! It’s too late now but that was a missed opportunity. I also think it would make a lot of sense to start with one platform add 2 passing tracks in the middle then add your second platform on the 4th track so you can share tracks easier! :)

You should have some stations at either end of the map and make Regional Train routes. the trains can get up to speed and people would love to board the trains cross country

What you forgot about the new trucks is that the loading speed went from 2x to 3x what even makes a bigger difference then the speed

I might be wrong but i believe having one train doing several different cargo is bad. It is better to have smaller trains that focus on a singular or at most 2 different cargo. I have not played in a while, so my memory might be wrong.

If the same car can be used then it's okay (like a fuel loop, everything get's moved in tanker cars), using different car types on the other hand is bad. Mixed cars make sense if you setup a central hub from which you distribute goods to the cities, but that requires quite a bit of planning ahead. The biggest problem here was that the saw mill didn't get enough input volume from the logs, he could have made the train go once back and forth between the loggers and the saw mill again to remedy that somewhat. It would have still been pretty inefficient. A cheap slow train would have been enough between Logging camp, Saw Mill and Tool Factory. Another line for delivery to Kansas and a third that brings logs from another camp from further away to the saw mill. That is at least my opinion, there are probably even better ways to do this production line in the video with trains only.

Dylan, I love your TF content but you seriously need to stop coloring your trains these canvas colors 😭 They look so good in their original paintjob. TF is so based on realism/realistic looks and bright colors at times can be a little too much :) Give it a try please?
